Foods that keep you healthy :
Garlic
Olive oil
Tomatoes - especially tomatoe purée
Spinach
Nuts - fresh not roasted
Pomegranates
Greece is the perfect country for all of these things. I remember the beautiful pomegranate and olive trees , fabulous virgin olive oil from Kalamata and sun ripe tomatoes everywhere - that taste like real tomatoes. Yummy.
While all these things are good for you and should be eaten every week , white flour, white sugar and lard are absolutely taboo.
I say YES to unprocessed unadultareted foods and beautiful pomegrantes from now on. Cut them in half and pick the seeds out with a pic or slice them in half and bash them on the back with a wooden spoon to release the seeds.
" Pomegranates
Dr. Oz says research on the health benefits of pomegranates has shown promising results. "We've done studies on them showing how they actually can change the way your arteries age—it's a very potent antioxidant," says Dr. Oz. "It also probably affects cancer rates, especially prostate cancer, but those studies haven't been finished yet."
Not only do pomegranates have extraordinary health benefits—they taste good, too. "It's a little sweet for me so I mix it with water, but pomegranates or their juice are worth trying out," Dr. Oz says.
