Sensory escapism

by miramaze @ Saturday, 10. Feb, 2007 - 19:03:16

I've fasted a couple of times in my life to detox and give my stomach a well deserved rest, ten days at a time. The first few days are the most difficult, after that , a sort of high and light- headedness.

I really missed eating so I'd browse through all my recipe books and literally feast on the colourful glossy pictures of food and savoured the words used to describe food.
e.g.chocolate :

Fine flavour
irresistible
a tradition redolent of poetry
exotic journeys,
evolving flavours,
experience and know-how to fulfill our desires for sensory escapism.
The dull crackling sound when you break a tablette,
the intense flavour of the first piece you bite into,
the desire to take another bite to relish - all this is part of the pleasure when you eat a tablette.

Tablettes are savoured slowly, like a call to meditation.
Their particular aromas make them truly delectable.
This is gourmet chocolate par excellence,
with no pretension or posturing.

mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm oooooooooooooooooooooooo ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh !

Noir , Poivre de Szechuan

by miramaze @ Saturday, 10. Feb, 2007 - 18:43:13

Noir, Poivre de Szechuan...
grrrrowl ..
doesn't the sound of this simply resonate
and vibrate through your very being ?
Szechuan ...Szechuan....Szechuan
.. sound of the sea
...waves of the ocean

It's actually pure dark wicked cholocate flavoured with szechuan pepper

Café Tasse
from Belgium of course.

It's the weirdest taste.
First the chocolate that melts
Then the twang of pepper
...and after that a sort of sour after-taste
that is really really too weird to describe
... it makes your mouth water and tickles the tongue
I'm going to have to have another bit.

The Secret mainstream on Oprah

The Rev. Dr. Michael Beckwith MichaelBeckwith

( one of the experts featured in The Secret who took part in the Oprah show ) says he was a drug dealer in college—until he was arrested in a deal gone bad. Michael says he had a spiritual awakening during his trial and decided to turn his life around. Today he leads the Agape Spiritual Center in Los Angeles, where he teaches thousands of faithful followers the path to reaching their highest potential.

Michael Beckwith came across very strongand believable for me in the film . I really resonated with the way he spoke and explained things.

There seems to be no mention of Esther Hicks and Abraham , which I find strange.

Word of the day : UVULA

by miramaze @ Saturday, 10. Feb, 2007 - 16:52:52

Uvula: The small piece of soft tissue that can be seen dangling down from the soft palate over the back of the tongue. The uvula is described variously shaped like a U, a tear or a grape. Its name comes from the Latin word for "grape," uva.

The uvula has its own little muscle, the musculus uvuae, to help it stiffen and change shape, ( oooh la la ) so it helps fill in the space at the back of the throat. It helps keep food from going down the wrong way down the breathing passage when one swallows. Singers credit the uvula with letting them produce a vibrato, a wavy up-and-down sound. ( it's a useful little appendage )

The uvula is one of the soft-tissue structures commonly blamed for snoring and for sleep apnea (a break in breathing during sleep). Some treatments for these conditions involve removing excess flesh from the uvula and surrounding areas.( YUK .. don't fancy that ) The surgery, called uvulopalatopharyngoplasty, ( repeat after me .... ) is designed to tighten up flabby tissues and enlarge the upper air passages.

The Emperor and The Empress; Male and Female

by miramaze @ Saturday, 10. Feb, 2007 - 16:28:29

Male and female . The Emperor and The Empress.
Time for the two to unite and work together.
Unity.
After all , ultimately both want the same thing and that is to please and to be pleased. Man wants to please woman. Woman wants to please man . Man wants to be pleased by woman, Woman wants to be pleased by man.

Misunderstandings arise .
Breakdowns in communication .

They speak different languages.
Why ?

Often because they don’t dare to be their true selves, so they pretend and play games. but it doesn’t work

That little bean thingy at the back of the throat

by miramaze @ Saturday, 10. Feb, 2007 - 15:04:19

What's that little bean thingy called at the back of the throat ? Is it the epiglotis ? Well, I've noticed that when I am really tired I tend to snore and in the morning that little bean like thing is sore !! lol .

I must have ben dancing with the devil all night.

Dreamt I was dancing . I was invited to dance together with half a dozen women dressed in flimsy tuquoise dresses. We danced in a circle and I was dragging my feet a bit but they were pulling me along . Maybe they were the Devils little imps ?

Then, when I opened the door to let more guests in , a dark man, with curly hair and glasses came in through the door at which point I woke up .

Thought of the day

by miramaze @ Saturday, 10. Feb, 2007 - 14:51:42

There is a stage of evolution in one's life when one arrives at a
state when every question is answered by the life around him. The
answer to his question comes as the re-echo of the very question.
For every thought of a sage, everything becomes an accommodation to
help it to resound; and in this resonance there is an answer. In
point of fact the answer is in the question itself. The answer wells
up from the depth of all existence, like the sound of a bell being
struck, or the splash of water, or the crackle of a firecracker;
each reveals its condition when struck, like the knock on the door.

Burst out laughing

by miramaze @ Saturday, 10. Feb, 2007 - 00:29:59

Since things neither exist nor don't exist,
are neither real nor unreal,
are utterly beyond adopting and rejecting -
one might as well burst out laughing.
