Carrots eggs and coffee parable

by miramaze @ Saturday, 17. Mar, 2007 - 23:26:44

A young woman went to her mother and told her about her life and how things were so hard for her. She did not know how she was going to make it and wanted to give up ! She was tired of fighting and struggling. It seemed as one problem was solved, a new one arose.

Her mother took her to the kitchen. She filled three pots with water and placed each on a high fire. Soon the pots came to boil. In the first she placed carrots, in the second she placed eggs, and in the last she placed ground coffee beans. She let them sit and boil, without saying a word. In about twenty minutes she turned off the burners. She fished the carrots out and placed them in a bowl. She pulled the eggs out and placed them in a bowl. Then she ladled the coffee out and placed it in a bowl.

Turning to her daughter, she asked, "Tell me, what do you see?" "Carrots, eggs, and coffee," she replied. Her mother brought her closer and asked her to feel the carrots. She did and noted that they were soft. The mother then asked the daughter to take an egg and break it. After pulling off the shell, she observed the hard boiled egg. Finally, the mother asked the daughter to sip the coffee. The daughter smiled as she tasted its rich aroma. The daughter then asked, "What does it mean, mother?"

Her mother explained that each of these objects had faced the same adversity - boiling water. Each reacted differently. The carrot went in strong, hard, and unrelenting. However, after being subjected to the boiling water, it softened and became weak. The egg had been fragile. Its thin outer shell had protected its liquid interior, but after sitting through the boiling water, its inside became hardened. The ground coffee beans were unique, however. After they were in the boiling water, they had changed the water. "Which are you?" she asked her daughter. "When adversity knocks on your door, how do you respond? Are you a carrot, an egg or a coffee bean?"

Think of this: Which am I? Am I the carrot that seems strong, but with pain and adversity do I wilt and become soft and lose my strength?

Am I the egg that starts with a malleable heart, but changes with the heat? Did I have a fluid spirit, but after a death, a breakup, a financial hardship or some other trial, have I become hardened and stiff? Does my shell look the same, but on the inside am I bitter and tough with a stiff spirit and hardened heart?

Or am I like the coffee bean? The bean actually changes the hot water, the very circumstance that brings the pain . When the water gets hot, it releases the fragrance and flavor. If you are like the bean, when things are at their worst, you get better and change the situation around you. When the hour is the darkest and trials are their greatest, do you elevate yourself to another level? How do you handle adversity? Are you a carrot, an egg or a coffee bean?

May you have enough happiness to make you sweet, enough trials to make you strong, enough sorrow to keep you human and enough hope to make you happy. The happiest of people don't necessarily have the best of everything; they just make the most of everything that comes along their way. The brightest future will always be based on a forgotten past; you can't go forward in life until you let go of your past failures and heartaches.

When you were born, you were crying and everyone around you was smiling. Live your life so at the end, you're the one who is smiling and everyone around you is crying.

LOA and " The Secret "

by miramaze @ Saturday, 17. Mar, 2007 - 15:51:17

The motivational fimm " The Secret " has been doing its rounds on the world wide web and has now gone mainstream featured by both OPrah and Ellen de Generes ,Wayne Dyer,Joe Vitale and countless others. The film " The Secret " is based on material channelled ( " Abraham " or " Abe " ) through Esther Hicks.

There is also an material in pdf format called "The Master Key System By Charles Haanel 1912 " Charles F. Haanel was a noted American author and businessman who belonged to the American Scientific League, The Author’s League of America, The American Society of Psychical Research, the St. Louis Humane Society and the St. Louis Chamber of Commerce.

"by1933 The Master Key System had sold over 200,000 copies and then seemingly disappeared. The Master Key System is one of the finest studies in self-improvement and higher consciousness ever written. Covering everything from how to get wealthy to how to get healthy,

Mr. Haanel leaves no stone unturned. With precision, he elucidates on each topic with logic and rigor that not only leaves you feeling good, but also thinking good. The book was banned by the Church in 1933 and has been hidden away for seventy years!

"INTRODUCTION

Nature compels us all to move through life. We could not remain stationary however much we wished. Every right-thinking person wants not merely to move through life like a sound-producing, perambulating plant, but to develop – to improve – and to continue the development mentally to the close of physical life. This development can occur only through the improvement of the quality of individual thought and the ideals, actions and conditions that arise as a consequence. Hence a study of the creative processes of thought and how to apply them is of supreme importance to each one of us. This knowledge is the means whereby the volution of human life on earth may be hastened and uplifted in the process. Humanity ardently seeks “The Truth” and explores every avenue to it. In this process it has produced a special literature, which ranges the whole gamut of thought from the trivial to the sublime – up from Divination, through all the Philosophies, to the final lofty Truth of “The Master Key”. The “Master Key” is here given to the world as a means of tapping the great cosmic intelligence and attracting from it that which corresponds to the ambitions, and aspirations of each reader. Every thing and institution we see around us, created by human agency, had first to exist as a thought in some human mind. Thought therefore is constructive. Human thought is the spiritual power of the cosmos operating through its creature man. “The Master Key” instructs the reader how to use that power, and use it both constructively and creatively. The things and conditions we desire to become realities we must first create in thought. “The Master Key” explains and guides the process……… “The Master Key” teaching has hitherto been published in the form of a Correspondence Course of 24 lessons, delivered to students one per week for 24 weeks. The reader, who now receives the whole 24 parts at one times, is warned not to attempt to read the book like a novel, but to treat it as a course of study and conscientiously to imbibe the meaning of each part – reading and re-reading one part only per week before proceeding to the next. Otherwise the later parts will tend to be misunderstood and the reader’s time and money will be wasted. Used as thus instructed “The Master Key” will make of the reader a greater, better personality, and equipped with a new power to achieve any worthy personal purpose and a new ability to enjoy life’s beauty and wonder."

Acknowledging what is and what has been

by miramaze @ Saturday, 17. Mar, 2007 - 14:50:38

It's true - we have done so much already. Foundations are important. Platforms need to be acknowledged as we move move forward with love and ease.

Today I am getting organised- inside and out . Creative chaos !

I miss N. who is very busy at the moment- crazy things at work . I have got so used to him phoning once a week. Changes. Acceptance of changes. Learning to roll with the punches and go with the flow.

I have so much to be thankful for . It get annoyed with myself when I find myself focusing on WHAT ISN't ..that's stupid .. insane . Still .. it's an awareness and with awareness CHOICE .. power again.:)

Where has the day gone ?

by miramaze @ Saturday, 17. Mar, 2007 - 01:45:56

Friday evening turns into Paddy Day. I've just watched Father Ted - the episode where they abstain from fags, booze and skateboarding for Lent.. hehehe. Nvermind it will be Easter soon.

Sacrifice actually means " to make sacred or holy "

Does going without actually help someone else ?
What is the point?
How does it help others?

I'm testing the belief that you can have your cake and eat it as well ! This is equally true , if not truer and more pleasant.

Nope .. I don't want to get too deep and serious right before bedtime. Laughter is good medicine. Comic relief . Bless all those involved in making people laugh. Laughter heals . I am so grateful for funny programmes like Father Ted and the Vicar od Dibley and One and a half Men and Everybody Loves Raymond. Italian families are especially funny somehow.

I like to believe that I am part of an abundant caring generous Universe and that there is enough for everyone. Optimism is healthier than pessimism. There ARE solutions to every problem. I'm going to stop asking WHY and start asking " HOW ? " Seems far more constructive.

Sleep .. love and peace in all dimensions xx
