Samsara

by miramaze @ Tuesday, 19. Jun, 2007 - 23:54:38

meditating on this for some reason illusive to me as yet:

HO!
Mesmerised by the sheer variety of perceptions,
which are like the illusory reflections
of the moon in water,
Beings wander endlessly astray
in samsara's vicious cycle.
In order that they may find comfort and ease
in the all -pervading luminosity
of the true nature of their minds,
I generate the immeasurable love,
compassion, joy and equanimity
of the awakened mind,
the heart of bodhicitta.

nyingma buddhism - jikmé lingpa - 18th century

Samsara is derived from "to flow together," to go or pass through states, to wander. Mostly a great revolving door between life and death and a new life reincarnated cycle of life. Also known as a game in ancient India.

May you be filled with loving kindness.
May you be well.
May you be peaceful and at ease.
May you be happy.

Bless !

This and that at the end of the day

The Mythic Tarot cards are inspired by the Greek Myths and legends. Here in the card of The Moon from the Major Arcana we see Cerberus, the three-headed dog that guards the gates of Hades , the underworld.

The evening sky here is still and calm . I can see the cresent moon from my balcony tonight. She is looking so very bright and serene.

I've been eating pistachio nuts all evening.the shells are all over the place.

I've started to clear clutter again and emptied a couple of drawers. Set the egg timer for 45 minutes and stopped clearing and sorting when it rang. I plan to do this every dayt. 45 minutes. Must ring the Salvation Army or equivalent to see if they will pick stuff up.

My mind is feeking empty now too, and I am feeling sleepy , so I think I'll toddle off to bed.

Happy dreamings everyone  love and ´kisses through the ethers !

Would you like to walk the labyrinth ?

My teachers have spoken about the famous labyrinth at Chartres Cathedral near Paris, France. The labyrinth at Chartres was built around 1200 and is laid into the floor in a style sometimes referred to as a pavement maze. The original centre piece has been removed and other areas of the labyrinth have been restored.

This labyrinth was meant to be walked as a pilgrimage and/or for repentance. As a pilgrimage it was a questing, searching journey with the hope of becoming closer to God.

In walking the Chartres style labyrinth the walker meanders through each of the four quadrants several times before reaching the goal. An expectancy is created as to when the centre will be reached. At the centre is a rosette design which has a rich symbolic value including that of enlightenment.
