  • Remembering Fanny and Alexander

    Wednesday , 27 Decemeber , 2006

    Ismael

    http://bp3.blogger.com/_yYFdAGRqNkw/RZKCmkBp24I/AAAAAAAAAEI/1HfFlnwL-1I/s400/Ismael.jpg

The name "Ismael", which occurs also in early Babylonian and in Minæan, was given to the child before its birth (Genesis 16:11), and means: "may God hear".

    http://bp0.blogger.com/_yYFdAGRqNkw/RZKA40Bp23I/AAAAAAAAAD4/kNxTSJWPwSY/s400/FannyAlexander11.jpg

Watched bits and pieces from the film and became engrossed in some of the dialogue.
It's interesting what new observations emerge and how they differ from other times.

I was able to watch the horrible fire scene this time without flinching too much. It gave me nightmares the first time I saw it.

This time , the scene between the insane or genius Ismael (? ) fascinated me. Was it incest ? Why was Alexander left alone with him for half an hour ?Aron opens door to Ismael's room, brings breakfast. Ismael -- leave us alone for 1/2 hour. Considered dangerous, locked in -- has "awkward talents." Ismael: "You have in mind a man's death." Alexander's evil thoughts -- burning figure.

  • Happy Lughnasadh

    Happy Lughnasadh, everyone :)

All is well, I've seen the moon now. She was behind the house and has just become visible from my balcony.

This link is about the Lughnasadh and includes a few recipes. I quite fancy the potato " BOXTY " cakes. :)

    http://www.chalicecentre.net/lughnasadh.htm

    Boxty (Potato Griddle Cakes) - makes12 x 3-inch pancakes (4 to 6 servings)

1 cup hot unseasoned mashed potatoes
2 tablespoons butter or margarine, softened
    2 eggs, beaten
1 cup grated unpeeled raw potatoes
    1/2 cup flour
    2 teaspoons baking powder
    1 teaspoon salt
    1 teaspoon caraway seeds (optional)
    1/4 teaspoon pepper
    1/4 cup milk
    Butter or margarine, for frying

In large bowl mix together mashed potatoes and 2 tablespoons butter. Stir in eggs and grated potatoes, then the flour, baking powder, salt, caraway seeds and pepper. Blend in milk. Heat 1 tablespoon butter to sizzling in large nonstick skillet. Drop potato mixture, about 2 1/2 tablespoons at a time, into skillet to form pa tties. Flatten slightly. Fry over medium-high heat until crisp and browned, turning once. Repeat with remaining potato mixture, adding butter to skillet as needed.Serve hot.
    An old rhyme goes:

    Boxty on the griddle,
    boxty in the pan,
    if you can't make boxty,
    you'll never get a man.

Off to meditate and moonbathe for a while
Peace in all dimensions .... night night

  • Ingmar Bergman

I found out yesterday at Lena's birthday party that Ingmar Bergman had died . He was 89 .

    http://www.candela.se/res/Teatrar/dramaten.jpg

    http://www.iht.com/articles/ap/2007/07/31/europe/EU-GEN-Sweden-Mourns-Bergman.php

The first Ingmar Bergman film that I saw was " The Virgin Spring "; a black and white film ( – a Best Foreign Language Oscar winner from 1960 directed by Ingmar Bergman ) and I saw it in France , I can't remember now if it was dubbed or not as The French usually dub films . Anyway it was a long time ago 1971 or 1972 . I remember being totally bowled over and making lots and lots of notes. I wonder if I still have them. I bet they were really profound observation .....ahemmmmm .. it felt like that at the time.;)

The story of The Virgin Spring :

" The Virgin Spring begins with Karin and Ingeri being sent on a journey to church by their mother (Birgitta Valberg) and father (von Sydow), who are very strict Christians. Ingeri is jealous of all the attention lavished on the spoilt but innocent Karin and tricks her naïve stepsister into continuing the journey to church alone. Karin soon meets two herdsmen (Axel Düberg and Tor Isedal) and a boy (Ove Porath), and offers to share a meal with them. However, events quickly take a horrific turn as the two herdsmen, watched by the boy, viciously rape and murder her. The herdsmen and the boy flee the scene and are later shown being given food and shelter by Karin's father at his home. At this point, the father does not yet know about Karin's fate and the herdsmen are unaware that the girl was his daughter. However, the mother soon discovers that the herdsmen have her daughter's blood-stained clothes in their possession, and when the father is told of this, he exacts a terrible revenge."

In a recorded interview on TV this evening, I heard Ingmar Bergman talking about his life and work. " Scenes from a Marriage " were based on his own experience. He'd fallen in love with a girl called Gunnel and was planning to leave his wife and 4 children to go and live with her in Paris. So , he travels down to Gothenburg from Stockholm . without taking his coat off he goes to his wife who is bed, sits on the bed tells her everything and then goes off to Paris. During the interview he shows a picture of Gunnel and admits that he could have handled things a lot better. *sighs* Regrets . A burden carried for over 20 years.

It is interesting that when a film director dies, his works live on for a long long time.

I think my favourite film was " Fanny and Alexander ".

Blessings to the soul of Ingmar Bergman. May his ghost join the other ghosts haunt Dramaten. the main theatre in Stockholm . I think I'll go there to leave a message in the Condolences Book which is there until Friday this week.

    What shall I write ?

  • Geodes

    http://www.enaturesart.com/geodes/dugway_big.jpg

These babies are very much like the ones that I gave Lena for her birthday :) The two halves fit exactly over each other to form a hollow rock ball.

I "programmed " these babies with magical intentions for Lena to find her "other half ". Full moon energies are powerful. An added birthday bonus :)

Geodes (Greek geoides, "earthlike") are geological rock formations which occur in sedimentary and certain volcanic rocks. they are , volcanic bubbles. Geodes are essentially rock cavities or vugs with internal crystal formations or concentric banding. The exterior of the most common geodes is generally limestone or a related rock, while the interior contains quartz crystals and/or chalcedony deposits. Other geodes are completely filled with crystal, being solid all the way through. These types of geodes are called nodulules.

    Healing and magical properties

Spiritual and Healing Properties of the Geode:

Each one (geode) holds special energy.
They can hold just about anything.
Crystals can be placed in the cavity top recharge
An " intention " symbolically can held by them.
The act as a reminder that two halves make a whole
Geodes are excellent for clearing a room of negativity.
They promote harmony and productivity which makes them great for meeting rooms or the entrance to a home.
These are great stones for meditation.
They often contain information for a specific person

    Other qualities :

Fertility, Childbirth, Meditation, Freedom of Spirit, Psychic Ability, Dreams, Astral Travel

  • Is it true ?

    http://uk.news.yahoo.com/rtrs/20070731/thl-uk-britain-cannabis-b2e59e8.html

" One cannabis joint as bad as five cigarettes "

Is it true ? How do we know that this is true ? Everyday we are told things by the authoririties who back things up with statistics , reports , so called facts and figures. These are people who claim to know what is good for us; people who have their own agenda and reasons for telling us these things.

    Critical thinking.
    Discerment.
    Is it so ?

On reading this article , my intuition says " hang on now ... not everything is as it seems. My gut feeling tells me to be critical. Is it so ? Is it so ?

Thank you Neil. Through your posts and alternative ways of looking at things being fed to us by the media, I am starting to be more discerning, and more critical.

Is it so ? Is it so ? Is it so ?

  • morning thoughts and feelings

    null

I ate a lot of cakes yesterday. Far more than I would normally eat and today I feel ashamed that I subjected my body to this sugar bomb. Totally unnecessary says my inner critic.

    I feel bad.Shame . Guilt, Remorse. Regret.

    Why ?

I had the first bun because I wanted to :) and it was good. BUT the rest was for social reasons. Eating to fit in. When everyone else is praising yumminess and scoffing the sweet sugery pastries and cakes it's hard NOT to get carried away by it all,

    Judgement.

During this morning's meditation of stillness , stilling thoughts, focus on breathing and breath, this question arose :

What is worse - is it the junk food I choose to ingest OR is the junky shameful guilty thoughts that I have about ingesting what I consider to be harmful or unhealthy to my body ?

I know the power of thoughts to create.Consider, then, the impact of judgement.

What is the impact of our judgements ?

“There are three kinds of violence: one, through
our deeds; two, through our words; and three,
through our thoughts. …The root of all violence is
in the world of thoughts, and that is why training
    the mind is so important.”

  • Back from Lena's island

Got back from Lena's island a couple of hours ago.Showered, squeeky clean , still wrapped in towel , realise now It's a mistake to switch on the computer. Of course ...it means getting lost in blogland reading and commenting on blogs :))

It was Lena's birthday so we , GUnilla , Jill and I went out to help her celebrate :) I called in at Gunilla's on the way as Jill was coming later.

Found Gunilla sitting outside on the terrace in bright sunshine with Hans , from Switzerland who'd just dropped by. Then Gunilla's Janne came home from the hairdressers , looking very dashing. Janne and Hans apparently are good friends and were planning to go to some jazz club while Gunilla and I were at Lena's.

Lena's ex hubby came to pick us up in the boat. Anxious moments for me climbing in and out of boats :)) It's a wonder I don't fall in. Still , everyone was so very patient and helpful so I didn't fall in :)

A whole crowd of relatives were already there. Tons of cakes and gallons of tea and coffee. I felt quite sick after a delicious cinammon and cardemon bun, carrot cake and a tiny symbolic bit of lemon meringue cake .I can't eat lots of sweet things. Others were scoffing away like crazy.hehe

Then the relatives left and we gathered on the terrace for drinks and then dinner.
It was nealy midnight when I got home
Feeling eyes close as I type....off to bed I go ..... hope you are enjoying you evening / sleep ...... *gone * xx

  • Monday morning mumbles

The full moon was so beautiful last night that I moonbathed all night because when I leave the blinds open , the moon comes in through the window.

Rude awakening 6:30 This morning to the sound of dustbin men collecting and emptying the bins. Tossed around in bed for a while trying to dream and finally decided to get up.

Dream An personal trainer was showing me how to do an excercise :)) it involved lying on my back on a bench near the wall and pressing against that wall and doing sit ups ! It worked in the dream . I was so supple and bening forward to touch my toes without the slightest effort or difficulty . Easy peasy . :)) Ahh the world of dreams !!

It's Lena's birthday today so Gunilla and I are going out to her island this afternoon. I've painted a card and will buy her present in town. She's got everything so it will be something symbolic. I'm thinking a quartz crystal or stone.

There is some kiss we want with

our whole lives, the touch of

    spirit on the body. Seawater

begs the pearl to break its shell.

    And the lily, how passionately

it needs some wild darling! At

night, I open the window and ask

the moon to come and press its

    face against mine. Breathe into

me. Close the language- door and

open the love window. The moon

won't use the door, only the window.

  • Among the Bohemians on Sun Day

So where's the sun ? It's wild and windy and changeable. A malleable sort of day, methinks. A day is what you make it to be.

Started by reading a bit from " Among the Bohemians " by Virginia Nicholson . The Subtitle is " Experiments in living 1900-1939". It's a book that was given to me by Penny , who has majored in English Literature. For the gourmet of readers. It's in small print too , so I can only eat savour and read in small doses. It is most enjoyable and opens my mind up to areas that I wouldn't ordinarily visit.

A little snippet from page 70

" Few people could recollect quite how many children Sanger was supposed to have got, but here always seemed to be a good many. and they were most shockingly brought up . They were, in their own orbit , known collectively as 'Sangers's Circus' , a nickname earned for them by their wandering existance , their vulgarity, their conspicuous brilliance , the noise they made, and the kind of naphtha-flare genius which illuminated everything they said or did. Their father had given them a good sound musical education and nothing else. They had received no sort of regular education , but the course of their travels had picked up a good deal of mental furniture , and could abuse each other most profanely in the argot of four languages ."

I went on to read about Jean-Jacques Rousseas's ideas on child raising; Nature being the teacher .. of innocence and of children allowed to play naked in the garden, left very much to their own devices with the minimum of adult interference . Rouseau thought that most teaching distorted and denatured the child's inner sense of what was good.

Fascinating . The Bohemian child in me still lives despite well- meaning efforts of my parents to tame her and civilise her.

Oh yes, I know .. you can take these theories to extremes . The children in this book went into town and bought gunpowder to play with and experiment with ... and yes .. there were explosions heard from the garden shed and bits of stuff flying , but miraculously noone was hurt or killed. Proof yet again of the presence of guardian angels, I feel .

For Neil and for anyone else who might be interested.

    http://www.amma.org/

Amma is lovely . Quite an exceptional woman who gives hugging blessings. It is quite amazing simply being in her presence. I have had the good fortune to meet her twice when she was here in Stockholm, a couple of days at a time. Amma would sit on stage and give hugging blessings, hold darhma talks , sing devotional songs and prayers, for hours on end without so much as taking a drink of water. She has amazing energy and is the closest to the personification of the Divine that I have ever met. Bless Amma with love and light and well being. May she continue to be a benefector and holy Mother for many.

  • morning mumbles

It's wild and windy outside. More like autumn than summer. *sighs* ah well ... that was that . Moving on ...
    Had a great sleep

Dream last night was a recurring dream of being assigned a new class to teach . Always have difficulty in finding the classroom in the huge school. This time , found the class room , 14a . Pupils had alread left though, but caught them in the afternoon. Got a sense of making progress. They were attentgive and willing to learn. We were cutting out a dress from dark blue brocade fabric. Someone was helping . One of the pupils helped me measure the length of the fabric - 3 yards - enough for a long evening gown without sleeves ;)
We also made some tomato sauce . So . cooking and sewing .. creating, communicating ... not bad  encouraging.

    Ay, Ay, Ay, Ay.....

Oh I want you, I want you, I want you
On a chair with a dead magazine
In the cave at the tip of the lily
In some hallways where love's never been
On a bed where the moon has been sweating
In a cry filled with footsteps and sand
    Ay, Ay, Ay, Ay
Take this waltz, take this waltz
Take its broken waist in your hand

This waltz, this waltz, this waltz, this waltz
With its very own breath of brandy and Death
Dragging its tail in the sea

There's a concert hall in Vienna
Where your mouth had a thousand reviews
There's a bar where the boys have stopped talking
They've been sentenced to death by the blues
Ah, but who is it climbs to your picture
With a garland of freshly cut tears?
    Ay, Ay, Ay, Ay
Take this waltz, take this waltz
Take this waltz it's been dying for years

Freya .. one for the lads :)
    Freija has many aspects
    ..
    http://www.thorshof.org/freya2.jpg

The most approachable of the goddesses. Freyja is the goddess of love, fertility and sexuality. She is also a source of wealth. A mistress of magic, Linked to the feminine mystery and craft of spinning. A great traveller who weeps tears of red gold. She is a guardian of the dead and is entitled to half of those slain on the battlefield.

    15: 30 ( 3:30 pm ) and my first post of the day. :)
It was raining cats and dogs again just now.

Slept ofr nearly 12 hours !!! waking up to pee every 3 or 4 hours and going back to sleep.

Woke around 7 am , to the sound of magpies chattering away loudly outside my window and workmen banging away on the roof

Nose blocked. Congested to the max. Allergy symptoms. Itching inside the ears that can drive you insane !!! Took allergy pills and asthma meds , showered , washed hair and went back to bed.

Drinking sage tea now and massaging finger tips.. and feeling better already.

I ate lots of yummy creamy blue cheese last night .. that may be the cause. Dairy products do tend to clog , don't they ?

  • That's it for today

    Right, that's it for today.

Saw the moon rise , but then it disappeared behind the clouds.

Had a lovely chat with Gunilla back from Italy and two weeks of travelling around. She felt it was too long to be travelling around. One week would have been enough . She's glad to be home again and pottering around doing things you don't have time for when your are working.

Lena's birthday is on Monday . What do you get someone who has everything ?

    Something symbolic , says Gunilla

What could that be ? I ask

Mikael also phoned. Ian and Peggy had got off ok :) Bles them.

  • We are all making much too much of all of this.

We are all making much too much of all of this. Much too much. Life is supposed to be good. It's supposed to feel fun.

People are supposed to be your friends. They're supposed to evoke from you good things.

You're supposed to evoke from them good things. You are not supposed to all want the same things. You have come with great variety. It's not virtuous to be the same. It's not inappropriate to be different.

In other words, all of it's all right. Just make a decision that no matter what, you're going to feel good and you're not gonna let all these petty little things that have been worrisome for so long, that you've been taught by so many who are around you, you're just not going to play that game any more.

Next time somebody puts you in a position where you feel that way just a little bit, stop and say,

'Oh, yeah -– I promised myself I wasn't going to do that any more."

    And they say,
    'Do what?'

And you say, 'Worry about what you think.'
    (Laughter)

'I promised myself I wasn't going to do that any more. I promised myself I was going to give myself the benefit of the doubt and give you the benefit of the doubt and assume that you love me."

And we don't think one of them will say, 'Well, you're wrong -- I don't.'

  • Thors day , innit ?

It's Thursday today isn't it ? THOR, god of thunder in Norse mythology.http://www.triplemind.com/images/gods/thor-painting.jpeg

Although the Met Office have said there is a good dose of rain on its way here , for the moment it's till sunny with just the thinnest layer of clouds. Chilly though. :(

Workmen on the roof are thumping around. They are putting a new roof on our building. I noticed bits of dust and stuff on my cooker this morning that had fallen down during the course of the morning. They start at 7 am while I am still in dreamland.

I've just started my day. What do I intend do with it? What are my intentions as the conscious creator of my reality ?

I just read Björn's email talking about his deeply disillusioned 2 day visit to New York.(Björn lived in my flat while I was away in Greece for 2½ months one summer ) Talk about doom and gloom ! I felt my energy seeping out from every pore of my body. What a dismal world he must be living in. Life is a matter of attitude and perception. I am so grateful I am not wearing his particular perception glasses.

We are our beliefs and thoughts.
What you believe is what you will get.

There is "good" news and "bad" news contained in this :

    - If you believe the world is a nasty unfriendly, cruel , depressing place where everyone is out to get you , well that is excatly what you will get. Self - fulfilling prohesy.

_ If on the other hand you choose to consciously create your reality and to catch your stressful thoughts and turn them around , then your world and earth experience is going to be very different. It will be of your making; and you can make of it what you want.

    Brilliant!

    :)

    and finally from Sally :

  • Every eight years Venus, the planet of love, turns retrograde

" Every eight years Venus, the planet of love, turns retrograde in Virgo.

You may want to reach out to someone from your past during this charged phase, which kicks off on July 27 and lasts until September 8. Likewise, you may be surprised to hear from someone you haven’t thought about in a while around this time.

    ( WHO could that be ?? )

A retrograde in level-headed Virgo means that analyzing the practicalities (or the lack thereof) in your relationships can be enlightening.

    ( ahem )

Remember that, at the end of the day, how people demonstrate care for one another influences our perceptions of each other. "

  • Thinking about trauma

Trauma is linked to fear. When we encounter shocking events , the mind instantly perceives the trauma and a natural self-protecting process of dissociation occurs.

The normal state of conscious awareness often flies out of the window , shocked and shattered incapable of integrating and making sense of the new reality.

At the same time , an alernate personality or loyal soldier is created that will hold and contain the trauma.

When the trauma is handled in a compassionate understanding and loving way a bridge can be built in the mind between the separate personalities and eventualy the trauma can be integrated in to the conscious system of beliefs and experiences. The loyal soldier can retire.

When we are disconnected from our conscious will,we become an unwitting participant or pawn to anyone or anything that chooses to manipulate our behaviour.

Deception is an old tool that is only effective because we choose denial rather than fcing the implications of what is obvious.

Awareness is the antidote. Awareness is an all-empowering tool because with awareness comes choice.

Trauma comes in many shapes and sizes.

Trauma basically stems from encountering versions of reality that shock the senses.

The inevitable result of trauma is dissociation , or the separation of consciousness.

Traumatised people often take lifelong vacations from their conscious awareness because of a deep reluctance to integrate shockingly painful memories.

Dissociative people can experience missing pieces of time, having no idea what comes over them

Traumatic events jolt the mass psyche into super-sensitive states of consciousness.

Trauma can trigger psychic abilities , where a cóonection with the higher realms becomes a self empowering tool for dealing with and resolving feelings of being stuck in the limiting realms of fear.

Everyone in war is traumatised but traumas also happen in everyday life.

When we abdicate our role of responsibility in creating our life , we create others who will create and control it for us.

Do we believe what the neswspapers and media tell us ?
Or do we pursue the quest to question by trusting ourselves and our intuition ?

It is timne we began to think for ourselves and start to consciously create our reality before it is created for us.

What sort of reality do you wish for yourself ?

  • Eco contest message from Al Gore

I was about to log off when I received this email from Al Gore. I don't make videos , but maybe you do. Here's the info. It's for a good cause. I think this planet of ours is worth saving.

    Night night ....... xx

    Dear Mira ,

In order to ultimately force our leaders to take action to solve the climate crisis, we have to use every medium -- including television, radio, and the Internet -- to build public support. And that's just what the Alliance for Climate Protection will do.

The Alliance is a three-year campaign that will push the climate crisis to the top of the nation's agenda using a combination of paid advertising, public service announcements, and grassroots power.

Your voices have carried our movement this far. So as we begin to create our media campaigns, I didn't want to only turn to an advertising firm -- I wanted to turn to you.

If you had 60 seconds to convince all of your friends that they needed to take action to stop the climate crisis, what would you say? How would you get the attention of millions of people all over the world?

Well, now you have the chance! Current TV and the Alliance for Climate Protection have teamed up to sponsor 60 Seconds to Save the Earth.

The premise is simple: make the best 15, 30, or 60-second ad showcasing how you or someone you know is taking action to alleviate the climate crisis -- or create an original, persuasive message that will open eyes, inspire change and empower your audience.
Get the details and create your ad by visiting:

    http://www.current.tv/ecospotcontest

After you submit your ad, our panel of celebrity judges will narrow the field to 20 finalists. Then you will be able to help pick the winner through an online vote. The top ads will be aired internationally on Current TV, featured in the Alliance's national campaign, and showcased on MySpace's Impact channel.

In addition, the grand-prize winner will receive a Toyota hybrid car, while three finalists will win Sony electronic products, and 16 semi-finalists will receive T-Mobile Sidekicks.

So get started -- in 60 seconds you can save the planet. Learn about this incredible contest and submit your ad today by visiting:

    Thank you,

    Al Gore

  • Maggie Jones' in London ; memories

Ian mentioned he'd been to Maggie Jones'- the restaurant in London . He always goes there when he is London.

    http://www.english-restaurants.com/english/areas/restaurant.asp?classID=31

    ..just off Kensington High Street.

It was my favourite restaurant while I was living in London in the mid seventies. I'd even go there for lunch on my own and feel so much at ease - something I'd very seldom do. Roberto and I had some lovely evenings there. Once when I was in London together with The Prof staying with Horentsia , Roberto's ex wife who lived just down the road from there , we went there for lunch and of course The Prof came too. When we arrived , The PRof, about 3 months at the time , was asleep in his pram , so we parked him near the door.

While we were having lunch we noticed a couple of kids at the table next to us looking really excited .. the object of their excitement ... The Prof .. propping himself up and being licked all over my a HUGE Great Dane !!! We'd parked the pram right next to his basket and in the meantime he'd returned . The The Prof didn't seem to mind at all- just beaming and gurgling away happily ;) :))

  • From the post that got away

As I was saying , on waking up afew hours ago :

" Late night last night. Get-together party at Mikael's.Ian and Peggy, who are cousins, are here in Sweden on a flying visit. They arrived Sunday and are leaving already on Wednesday. Ian lives in Palm Springs and Peggy in London. It's been over 10 years since I saw Ian and 15 since Peggy was here so there was a lot of chin wagging , catching up and silliness;) and was 3 am by the time I crawledinto bed.

Rain is still in the air, grey clouds overhead.Plants are still loving it.

    Caught up wi............... "

That's the part pf the post that auto saved :))

Caught up with The Prof who had been away all week with g/f in the South of Sweden. His flat is now SOLD !! It was went for much more than he thought he would get. There had been a great deal of interest , far more than is usual according to the estate agent. 40 people came to view on the two days it was shown; 15 people had bid and it was " hold onto your seats" exciting until the last minute. It was finally sold to lovely girl, first time buyer, who had been searching for 3 years for a flat that felt right . Isn't it amazing? I am so happy that everyone is happy. Thank you thank you thank you Universe and Angels everywhere.

  • The Prof

    DSC00010

Meno asked me why I call my son The Prof. His dad and I thought he looked like The Prof. Well, it's just the way he would screw up his forehead in concentration and twiddle his thumbs( no picture of that unfortunately ) that made us call him The Prof, short for Professor. The Prof's father is a professor too. ;)

The Prof has always been curious. He was able to hold his head up soon after he was born. This photo is of him when he was 6 weeks old in his favourite position, lying on his tummy raising himself up to see what was going on.

Well I think he's gorgeous .. but then I would, as his mum :))

  • How mira Relates to Other People

SECTION I: How mira Relates to Other People

Venus Trine Saturn with an orb between 1 and 3 degrees

While you may not be emotionally demonstrative or sentimental, you love deeply, lastingly and loyally. You may be strongly drawn to people either much older or much younger than you are. Love, for you, has always entailed an enormous amount of responsibility.

Sun Trine Neptune with an orb between 3 and 5 degrees

One of your great strengths is your sensitivity. You tune in easily to the psyches of other people and, while you may not notice the color of their eyes, have an almost eerie understanding of their private inner worlds. Your close ties are very private.

Mercury Trine Mars with an orb between 3 and 5 degrees

Your sense of humor is one of your outstanding qualities. It usually manifests as a rather wry wit. Anyone you're close to must share this sense of irony. You probably have a special talent or an absorbing interest. Your closest ties are likewise involved.

Sun Sextile Pluto with an orb between 1 and 5 degrees

You regenerate yourself through periodic transformations of your life situation. Your relationships can only endure if your partners grow and change with you so that you wind up still pointed in the same direction. Otherwise you will leave them behind.

Venus Sextile Jupiter with an orb between 1 and 5 degrees

Yours was an indulged childhood with lots of love and lots of cookies. You have a generous nature both emotionally and materially and people are usually pleased to provide you with the love and creature-comforts you both require and cheerfully give. (;D:)):DD

  • Ducks and us

Dicks don't seem to care if it is raining, it's " water off a duck's back ".

I like to watch their feathery bottoms sticking up in the air, head disappearing under the surface of the water and in winter coming in to land and sliding on the ice .

    http://bp2.blogger.com/_oKQZLOi_sLQ/Rh59f163TRI/AAAAAAAAAD0/ErP4kg6ccnM/s320/3ducks.jpg

Ducks are so versatile - at home in the world of air, water, and earth. They are able to swim, fly, and walk, and they seek and find nourishment in more than one place.

They are inspiring symbols of versatility

Ducks float, swim, and dive into the water, fishing for food.

    http://bp1.blogger.com/_oKQZLOi_sLQ/Rh59nl63TSI/AAAAAAAAAD8/LcUnwB9vFjQ/s320/goose1.jpg

They can walk and waddle on the ground,( * mira pictures dafter's waddle * )

Ducks eat vegetation and insects ,

Ducks fly in the air to travel long distances relatively quickly.

Ducks' feet are equally good at paddling as they are walking and their wings to enable them to fly.

Ducks seem comfortable in just about any natural environment.

How good is your ability to both float on the surface and to dive beneath it ?

In many traditions, water symbolizes the emotions.

To duck our heads into our emotions means we are able to surrender our minds to our hearts, to go into the watery realm of feeling and see what there is to see, often coming to the surface with nourishment and treasure.

We share the duck's ability to get solid ground under our feet by connecting to the earth on which we live simply by walking on it.

We can also fly in our spirits above the mental, emotional, and material realms, free of all the ties that bind us to this earth, travelling faster and farther than we ever thought possible.

    Duck medicine :

" Duck and Drake - Female Duck is a very protective mother, attending to her brood and teaching the young to swim and search for food. We can invoke female Duck for nurturing, mothering energy. Once a year male Duck loses his bright plumage and is unable to fly. At this time he silently hides in the reeds and plants that grow near the water until he emerges able to fly once again. Male Duck is invoked for the medicine wisdom to go within, withdraw and be silent when we go through difficult transitions and stressful changes. "

  • Another friend writes with a lesson in time

A lesson in time for all...

Have you ever been guilty of looking at others your own age
and thinking, "Surely I can't look that old?" Well... You'll love this tale from a woman!!

I was sitting in the waiting room for my first appointment with a new dentist. I noticed his DDS diploma, which bore his full name. Suddenly,I remembered a tall, handsome, dark-haired boy with the same name had been in my high school class over 40 years ago. Could he be the same guy that I had a secret crush on, way back then?

Upon seeing him, however, I quickly discarded any such thought. This
balding, grey-haired man with the deeply lined face was way too old to have been my classmate.

However, after he examined my teeth, I asked him if he had attended

    Morgan Park High School?

"Yes. Yes, I did. I'm a Mustang," he gleamed with pride.

"When did you graduate?" I asked.

He answered, "In 1961. Why do you ask?"

"You were in my class!" I exclaimed.

He looked at me closely. Then, that ugly, old, wrinkled, bald, fat,
    grey, decrepit son-of-a-bitch asked,

    "What did you teach?"

Valerie , my friend in Atlanta USA , is on a 15 day high fiber detox and informs me that means 10x 10 oz of water a day.

Quick google to http://www.convert-me.com/en/convert/volume conversion tables tells me that her 10x 10 oz is the equivalent of my 3 litres = 2 of those very big bottles of water a day. This is necessary to flush out all the fibre :) otherwise it gets stuck and then you are in trouble.:(

It would be good if I could collect rainwater somehow. The balcony is sheltered so it would not be very much :(

How much water do YOU drink a day ?
How many times do you go to the loo ? ( to pee, I mean ;) :)) )

  • Grumpiness over brunch

Woke up feeling grumpy for no apparent reason. I don't know why that happens. Maybe it simply is what it is.

Grumpiness is starting to lift now after brunch. watching a bit of the Martha Stewart show and mentally judging and criticising everything,... her always being so organised and practical ... her accent, the conventional deluded audience, the commercial aspects, the fact that the show was about Valentines day hahaha :)) and it is airing here in July ...her enthusiasm .. does how can she keep this upf day after day ... the importnance of oscars and awards .. so stupid ... caring about ratings .. pleasing plebs ...all for money .....and finally myself for being so stupid as to watch the damn thing unable to switch off. :))

Funny when you catch yourself being grumpy. All that energy consuming stuff going on under the surface :))

Sun is shining through the clouds today. It's nowhere near as warm as it was yesterday. My 95year old nearly deaf neighbour , Astrid , has her radio turned on full blast which cuts out sitting on the balcony.

Well.. there is still Blogland :) Happy Sunday everyone

  • Midnight

Monica and I sat out on the balcony and drank wine. It was hot and sunny. One of those rare days. lots to share and talk about. Monica is children free for a month now as they are on holiday with their father.Changes in the air for them as ex hubby and girlfriend of three years are splitting up :(

Marinated salmon with ginger, garlic , honey and soya and baked in the oven, served with bulgur salad and veggies. Thick creamy Greek yoghurt for dessert drizzled with honey and mixed roasted nuts.

Saw the lovely cresent moon in the pale blue sky and watched it set behind a cloud. Now I know where the goddess goes ;)

Time for dreamland now .. goodnight bloggers and blogland :) tomorrow is another day :)

  • Midday mumbles

Resistance to cleaning and tidying and laundry arghhhhhhhhhhhh

    Conflict

Wanting the place to be tidy and clean in an instant - wave of the magic wand.

Monica is coming over in a couple of hours fromn the other side of town. We don't see each othervery often and whenever I go there I am treated so well I feel obliged to reciprocate.

Truth be told ... I can't be bothered .." I can't be arsed " as some would say *chuckles at words learned in Blogland coming out of ther mouth * :))

I'm going down to get the laundry now
Then I'll tidy for 45 minutes
    Then .. that's it !!
If anyone wants more , they can just lump it

    *delights in little tantrum *

I hope to have time to sit for a while on balcony in the sun ..can't miss the sun while it's here
Second thought .. can do that with Monica with glass of wine ...aubergine paté would be nice .. *sighs* still to be made .. something else then .,.. but what ?

    hasta la vista !

  • Aubergine -Walnut Pâté

I haven't tried this yet , but it sounds scrumptious !

    Aubergine -Walnut Pâté

Traditional pâtés are often made from high-fat meats and liver. They can be delicious and quite elegant, but less than nutritious. This vegetarian version is sophisticated and filled with flavour
For a special occasion or as an everyday spread with whole-grain crackers.

    Ingredients

    1 large aubergine
    1½ dl walnut pieces
2 teaspoons fresh ginger , peeled, grated and finely chopped
    2 cloves garlic, mashed
    1 tablespoon extra-virgin olive oil
    pinch ground allspice
Salt and hot pepper sauce to taste

    method

    1. Preheat oven to 200C. Pierce the aubergine with a fork in several places and bake until very soft, about 45 minutes.

    2. While the aubergine is baking, grind the walnuts in a food processor until very fine, and set aside.

    3. Remove the aubergine from oven, slash to let steam escape, drain off any liquid, and scrape the pulp into a food processor with the ginger root, garlic and olive oil. Process until smooth.

    4. Add the ground walnuts and allspice, and process until smooth.

    5. Season to taste with the salt, and hot pepper sauce. Spoon into a small dish and chill for several hours or until firm.

OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOH can't wait to try :)

  • Have you tried the computer doctor at Tescos yet ?

One day, in line at the works cafeteria, Jack says to Mike behind him,

"My elbow hurts like hell. I suppose I'd better see a doctor!"

Listen; don't waste your time down at the surgery, Mike replies.

There's a diagnostic computer at Tesco. Just give it a urine sample and the computer will tell you what's wrong, and what to do about it.

It takes ten seconds and only costs five quid....a lot quicker and better than a doctor and you get Clubcard points".

So Jack collects a urine sample in a small jar and takes it to Tesco. He deposits five pounds and the computer lights up and asks for the urine sample. He pours the sample into the slot and waits.

Ten seconds later, the computer ejects a printout:

"You have tennis elbow. Soak your arm in warm water and avoid heavy
activity. It will improve in two weeks".

That evening while thinking how amazing this new technology was, Jack began wondering if the computer could be fooled.

He mixed some tap water, a stool sample from his dog, urine samples from his wife and daughter, and "pleasured himself" into the mixture for good measure. Jack hurried back to Tesco, eager to check what would happen.

He deposits five pounds, pours in his concoction, and awaits the results.

    The computer prints the following:

    1) Your tap water is too hard. Get a water softener.

    2) your dog has ringworm. Bathe him with anti-fungal shampoo.

    3) Your daughter has a cocaine habit. Get her into rehab.

    4) Your wife is pregnant. Twins. They aren't yours. Get a lawyer.

    5) And if you don't stop playing with yourself, your elbow will never get better....

Thank you for shopping at Tesco

  • I don't have to go down to the river

I don't have to go down to the river to wash my clothes, only 4 flights of stairs ( no lift) down into the bowels of the earth to where the laundry room is.

Ok..when I get there .. one of the two machines is Kaput- sign saying " out of order , reported 28/6 " and .. the other one is being used without having booked a time upstairs on the board . Grrrrrrr.

So,,, do i got back up .. or do I wait .. or do I stop the machine , take the laundry out and put mine in instead ?

I choose not to go back up. I wait and contemplate the situation in a trance like state ...time flies .... little wippersnapper of neighbour, little Louise , who looks about 15 and has recently moved in , appears to claim her laundry .

I scowl. She is chirpy and pleasant completely ignoring my grumpiness. Her happy mood is catching. She explains ... points out that the laundry is nearly done .. and how nice that is :) hehehe and I find it impossible to stay angry. I put my washing in and we leave together.

Back upstairs , I realise that I must have been down there at least 20 minutes watching the laundry go around in a state of trance :))

I'm still annoyed at the landlord though ..29/6 .. that's 3 weeks .. not good enough. Must phone .

Water find 'may end Darfur war'

Getting enough water is a major struggle in Darfur
A huge underground lake has been found in Sudan's Darfur region, scientists say, which they believe could help end the conflict in the arid region.
Some 1,000 wells will be drilled in the region, with the agreement of Sudan's government, the Boston University researchers say.

Analysts say competition for resources between Darfur's Arab nomads and black African farmers is behind the conflict.

More than 200,000 Darfuris have died and 2m fled their homes since 2003.

"Much of the unrest in Darfur and the misery is due to water shortages," said geologist Farouk El-Baz, director of the Boston University Center for Remote Sensing, according to the AP news agency.

"Access to fresh water is essential for refugee survival, will help the peace process, and provides the necessary resources for the much needed economic development in Darfur," he said.

  • Thoughts at noon

    Where am I today ?
    Blank.
    Calm.
I only remember part of my dream last night. In this scene a S&m style woman in camouflage military gear comes in to give the prisoner his daily whipping . Ugh ! What does that say about the deep recesses of my unconscious ? What am I beating myself up about? Is this what I do to myself daily as a part of my routine ? Yikes. The more I become aware of my thoughts and the more I examine them the more I become aware of shady negative undercurrents that are going on and most probably draining me of my energy.

From a snippet of Dr Phil last night: Say a person has an IQ of 100. Say this person has to speak in public. Now for many people this is a scary odreal. So now this person is thinking scary thoughts .. " What if I make a mistake?" What if they don't like me ?" What if they are not interested ? What if I look stupid ? etc etc so what happens is that this takes 25% or 50% of IQ so there is only 50% IQ left for the performance , which is far below this person's potential normally. Interesting way of looking at things.

Conclusion : when we spend time and energy on negative fearful thoughts we are operating far below our capacity and potential and we get ever so tired too.

My intent today is to feel good. All day.
I intend to examine my stressful thoughts and nip them in the bud , turning them round into something far more enjoyable and peaceful .

  • Oh it was lovely !

In answer to those of you who have been asking. My shiatsu session was lovely ! :)

Shiatsu, also known as acupressure, is a finger pressure massage technique. that is sometimes confused with acupuncture. It involves squeezing, rubbing, and applied pressure are applied along the meridians to unblock energy blockages and reintroduce the optimal flow of ki.

First I lie on my back and Jeremy , who is from Oz, checks me out stomach, wrists, energy points, chatting ten to the dozen and answering my questions. He also tells good jokes, I forget most of what he tells me about he heat and the cold arising and the funny names of the points in Chinese. I remember he recommended a Sour Japanese plum once - its name sounded like " o my goshi " lol umbegoshi ? something like that - anyway it was supposed to be very good for you and healthy . I have still to find it ;)

I think he talks a lot to distract me because some of the pressure points hurt a bit . If I yell or complain a bit, he eases up , as it's not good to be tense. There's sadistic side to all healers , I reckon lol

It's amazing how he gets energies to move though. I was quite sweaty and could feel the heat surging down to my toes . " you are a good responsive patient " he says .. lol .. but they all say that , don't they :)) I think men enjoy hearing women moan :))

He also showed me some acupressure points on the soles of my feet which I'm supposed to massage. Where ? Well it's below the little toe .. find a place that hurts and that's it ! That seems to be the general rool-.. if it hurts , massage it .. not too hard at first ... apply more pressure as you go.

There was also a point on the back of my calf that hurt like hell .. and by my shoulder.

Oh it was such good fun .. and the hour whizzed by. I feel energised and refreshed .. my ki flowing gracefully now :)

  • Aware And Awake

    Intent

We tend to associate the energy of intent with complicated or profoundly meaningful actions that require our full attention and effort in order to succeed. For example, walking a tightrope, taking a test, and taking a vow are all tasks that call us to be fully present and single-minded. However, intent can also be applied to everyday events, like eating breakfast or going to work. In fact, everything we do benefits from the presence of intent, which has the power to transform seemingly mundane tasks into profound experiences. You only have to try it to find out.

Intent is one of the cornerstones of the Zen tradition of Buddhism in which monks work for years to develop the stillness and sharpness of mind to do only one thing at a time. Most of the time we are doing one thing and thinking of something else, or even doing three things at the same time, such as talking on the phone, doing dishes, and boiling water for tea. There is nothing inherently wrong with multitasking, which seems necessary at times, especially in the midst of family life. However, balancing this with a healthy dose of intentional activity can provide valuable insight into the benefits of doing one thing at a time, being fully present with whatever the task at hand happens to be.

From the moment we wake up, we can apply intent to our situation by simply saying to ourselves, "I am aware that I am now awake." We can use this simple tool throughout our day, saying, "I am aware that I am driving to work." "I am aware that I am making dinner." Or even, "I am aware that I am breathing." As we acknowledge what we are doing in these moments, we come alive to our bodies and to the world, owning our actions instead of habitually performing them. We may realize how often we act without intention and how this disengages us from reality. Applying the energy of intent to even one task a day has the power to transform our lives. Just imagine what would happen if we were able to apply that power to our entire day

  • Laughing together i

    http://www.afteradoption.org.uk/library-media%5Cimages%5Chomenews(2).jpg

Laughing together is a sign that a relationship is doing well .

  • My body

I used to think that my body was very much like a suitcase or heavy leather bag full of stones , something to be dragged around. Cumbersome. A hassle. Limiting. Restraining. In my thoughts I'd be at the door and my body was several feet begind.

Not any more. I am learning . I am changing. Incidentally this all started with dis-ease 16 years ago.It was the beginning of a metamorphosis. Long story.

Today I think of my body as the sacred and beautiful home for my soul.

My body is a fantastic and wonderous designer made costume , perfectly, uniquely and purposefully designed for me to enable me to carry out my Life Purpose.

I have learned to stand in front of the mirror naked and to look and appreciate without judgement and even to say

" Body of Mira .. I love and appreciate you. Thank you for being my very best friend. Forgive me when I am unkind to you , when I ignore you and forget to listen to you.Let's work together to feel good. "

Training. This does not happen overnight . Perseverence pays :) I still can't do this very well with photographs. The camera does not always portray the truth ;)

My body and soul are in cahoots. They collaborate . They have this amazing cooperation.

My soul is constantly yearning to express itself through my body.

Now and then , this soul energy seeking expression comes up against blocks caused by dense thought forms that manifest physically as disease.

My body , although it may look solid is in fact a mass of energy particles spinning , vibrating and dancing together. There are seven main energy centres known as chakras that are colourful spinning wheels of energy .. red, orange, yellow, green , blue and indigo /purple/ violet. When these are balanced and spinning away happily the organs that they supply with energy are also happy and healthy. When there are blockages , the organs suffer and there is dis-ease.

Lots more to be said .. enough for now :)

  • The challenge of relationships

Despite our passion for romantic love, relationships are not the easiest way to find love and peace. They are, however, one of the most effective for finding our blocks.:)) This is important to note when asking the Universe to send you a soul mate :))

Relationships naturally bring out into full view our desires, attachments and unconscious programs – our likes, dislikes, belief systems, judgements, compulsions, conformities, etc. Relationships challenge us because they take us deep into thoughts, feelings and experiences we have suppressed for a lifetime. That’s why they provide the very best arena for personal growth!

I am not in an intimate personal relationship at the moment, but here in Blogland I really appreciate all those of you who share your relationships with me so openly. Bless you all with love and whatever it takes to nurture your relationships.

“Human relationships are the perfect tool for sanding away our rough edges and getting at the core of divinity within us.”

    -- Eknath Easwaran

We are all diamonds in the rough .. diamonds in the buff ;) :))

  • Morning thoughts and feelings

My thoughts this morning stem from my dream last night as well as reading and reflecting.

I've been thinking a lot about my relationship with my body, sexual energy and energy medicine. Going for a shiatsu treatmet later today to get the energy juices flowing to encourage healing :)

    The MOON is waxing
, as of 14/7 . This is a highly energetic time ; magnifying , lengthening .....swelling .... extending ..accelerating ..expanding ..growing .. until 30/7

There are alternative ways of looking at things and dealing with things.

I feel angry.... frustrated.... indignant that I / we will seemingly do what ever it takes to hold on to the status quo and resist change and moving forward. Fear of course is behind this. Most of us are afraid of change and subscribe to the belief " Better the devil you know than the devil you don't know. " which is ridiculous . It is an example of a belief that does not serve and we simple accept without question.

" the grass is greener ...." Is it really ?
" money does not grow on trees " well I know , but is the ESSENCE of this true ????

    These are all limiting beliefs.

I'm getting myself worked up now .. just noticing ... ;)

...*pause for a deep breath or two *

I feel I want to stir things up to see what IS and what comes to the surface.

One of the blessings of dis-ease is that it tends to set the wheels of transformation in motion.

This is all part an parcle of examining the thoughts that create my reality.

  • It's well past midnight again

How does this happen ? One minute it is 9pm - the next it is past midnight and the next day.

Reflecting on my " Fire the Grid " experience today .
    What was it like ?

I meditated before and after the set time, wrote ,intended, visualised and talked to friends. It was a joyful hour , well spent.Nothing specific surfaced. For me this was about feeling joy. I am sure my higher self was doing what it was supposed to be doing. I did feel a bit light headed especially at the beginning.

Afterwards I went to the hairdresser's to get my hair styled trimmed and highlighted . Altogether very joyful ! OM mani padme hum !

One of my friends said :

" I joined the BBS radio meditation and enjoyed a guided meditation by a person who I can't remember his name. It was lovely. Before the meditation, however, I spontaneously connected with the ocean and saw dophins jumping, and fish circling rapidly. Whales were blowing. The water was alive and energized. Then with the meditation, I touched the sun, and brought in light thru my crown, into my body...connecting with millions of other souls through threads that ran from the sun thru us and into the earth...I saw the blue gem of an earth from a distance and it was blue green and brilliant... I saw each continent glowing...and love was sent to all the plants, minerals, and animals...I swirled connections with groups of people I know on earth...from family, friends, co-workers, ex-husbands. ..my daughter...people who I avoid....and my brother and his wife, especially.. ..Reiki Sisters, you, Soul Sisters...individually and collectively. It was a heartfelt experience.. .Love sent to the center core of our earth through my root chakra...light coming in from the crown....I'd love to sleep right now and let all of this settle in...but I am at work now and hope to carry the radiance throughout the day...That's our work, isn't it...Carrying it with us wherever we are. Bless you all today with healing and radiance."

    Another friend said :

" I did my best this morning. I woke up in time, and started to meditate, but soon the animal Olympics started - three dogs and two cats fired up for morning. So I set my intention to continue meditating on some plane while I dished up food and opened the back door 212 times. I felt and saw a connection - saw the grid glowing and healing.

I am excited to find the results of this world-wide effect. This morning we are being treated to a gentle but persistent rain, which we need so much. Bless our mother earth! "

These things do not have to be in a particular way. The experience is what it is .

What we INTEND is imporortant, as well as the FEELING, the emotion behind the intention.

A daily appreciation of life , our planet , water, friends, nature andour gifts and blessings is something that could be as natural a part of daily routine as daily hygiene.

  • Hair day and Astrid

My neighbour , Astrid, 95 years old , was standing outside our front door talking to one of the workmen who is replacing our roof.

She looked as perky as a teenager and then I noticed she was wearing a wig ! It was cut in a modern style , a sort of platinum blonde , not the usual tea cosy hairstyle that ladies of her age wear . I think she was flirting .;) She is also very nosey. Deaf and nearly blind , but still has all her marbles , bless her. A tough cookie , our Astrid. She asked me where I was going. I tried to tell her, used my best sign language too, but I don't think she understood. I scarpered quick sticks as I was on my way to the hairdressers to get my mop styled and prettied with colourful highlights :)

This is how it turned out ....gives you some idea ;) Doesn't my nose look ..well..er .. distinguished ? :)):)):))

  • Fire the grid 17 07 07

If you can't be bothered reading all the bla bla bla ...... just spend an hour on  this day  17 - 7-  07  consciously doing something you enjoy that makes your heart sing.  Follow your bliss. That's it

    Fire the Grid

Love or fear. It's your choice.

The Internet's buzzing with excitement and curiosity about the "Fire the Grid" event on 17 July At 11:11 GMT, people around the world will join in an hour of peace, joy and healing for the planet.

With Pluto exactly aligned with the center of our galaxy on that date, this is indeed an auspicious moment to focus our intent in a worldwide meditation. Pluto roots out and expunges darkness from the subconscious. Pluto is about power.

When and where have you given yours away?
What are the fears that keep you from expressing your highest potential?

Both Pluto and the Galactic Center annihilate in order to create. Their alignment forms a cosmic portal for Divine Love to be transmitted through us into the Earth grid. The channel works both ways, so your state of being at this time will be transmitted throughout the cosmos via the portal.

Will you choose love or fear?

Shelley Yates created the Fire the Grid project after she and her son survived a car accident in which they both "died." Shelley was given the date for the worldwide event by interdimensional "Light Beings" who have guided her since the day of the accident. She didn't know about the astro significance of the date, and it doesn't matter.

17 July  is a moment of extreme opportunity, unlike any we've experienced in our lifetime. Pluto only crosses the Galactic Center every 248 years. The first exact conjunction in this cycle was 28 December, 2006, and the final pass will be 26/27 October  2007. Now in "retrograde" motion, Pluto is slowly, methodically burrowing into the depths of our individual and collective psyches, handing us our fears on a golden platter to be vaporized, once and for all, if we'll only allow it. The potential for transformation is enormous. In this cosmic moment, you may find your bliss, your purpose, your divinity, your essence. Freedom.

And then there are the detractors. Those with suspicions, fear, even hostility. Who's controlling this Yates woman? What's their agenda?

Decide for yourself. There's a video of Shelley Yates on You Tube. It's in eight parts and you'll need a high-speed Internet connection to view it. It's well worth the time.

If you believe, if you vote "yes" for a new day for humanity and the Earth, then check out the Fire the Grid web site and consider joining in. Bring your intentions. Drop your assumptions. And prepare to be amazed.

** A note on timing: The higher dimensional frequencies accessed during a planetary meditation like this exist outside time and space, so you don't need to do it at the exact time suggested if it's not convenient for you. If you decide to participate, sit with it and find out when it's best for YOU to connect with the energy and intention of this event.

A friend of mine in Blogland asked me about my snake yesterday and was wondering if a flower or some other symbol might not be more appropriate. I bless him and thank him for his courage to speak up and confront the snake .. kudos to him . Still , my snake stays and here's why :

I LOVE snakes. The snake for me represents Life FOrce and the Kundalini energies. I need the snake to watch over me. My snake is very much a part of who I am. I am not always " appropriate " I'm afraid .

I am with mermaid on this one. Snakes are very important and symbolic and very appropriate for women to use as an avotar. Flowers are beautiful, but there are more sides to femininity than roses. The druids used them as a symbol of wisdom I believe. It is only in christianity that they are the embodiment of evil. Also they are in their own way very beautiful creatures and very useful as they keep vermin down. Many ancient cultures used to keep house snakes for this reason. In ancient Crete they were worshiped, which is why there are statues of bare breasted priestesses brandishing snakes aloft.

Their venom is useful and can be used in medicine. The druids used them as a symbol of wisdom. This is why they are used as a symbol by medical bodies. What kind of snake is he, I do not recognise him?

Thank you Mermaid and Mrs F for your support and eloquence in this matter (((( hugs ))))

So .. the snake stays  and all is well :)

  • A lovely story

Once upon a time , there was a young woman who had been living alone in celibacy for quite a few years after several disasterous relationships and two marriages to men who treated her badly.

One day, one of her teenage sons surprised her by suggesting they go on holiday together to the a beautiful Greek Island of Patmos. The young woman is particularly pleased because she is a very spiritual person who loves to sit and meditate in old churches and sacred places.

The son , who is hoping to be a writer one day , packs his case full of books to read and writing materials , so that while his mother is meditating and exploring some church or sacred place he is quite happy in a taverna somewhere reading or writing as inspiration strikes him.

One day , the young woman climbs the hill to the monastery. Such is the magic of the place that she wants to stay there longer. She hides behind a pillar hoping to be locked in there on her own during siesta time. However to her great dismay , a monk sees her and tells her she has to leave.

Just then , two men appear with the monks. They too have come from a far away place . The man and woman's eyes meet and sparks start to fly. They start to talk and sink deeper and deeper into each other's souls.

Once outside , they say their goodbyes and the two men who are cousins , hop on their bikes and ride away into town while the woman climbs further up to a cave to meditate.

Then the miracle happens. One of the men says to the other . "It's no good , I can't leave things like this . I must go back and find this woman."

He drives off , back up the hill , gets off his bike and runs puffing and panting up the hill where he find the young woman in the cave. "I could not simply leave like that he says."

Several hours later , she hops onto the back of his bike , her arms around his waist and his hands clasp hers and they drive off into the sunset towards the town . This is just the beginning.

She returns to Sweden and he returns to the USA where he sells all his possessions and buys a one way ticket to join his wife to be in Sweden in August,

We wish them both all the very very best :) I hope they will live happily ever after.

This is the true story. I am not making it up as I go along.

    :))

There is something in the air tonight. I can feel it . Is it my stuff or someone else's ?

I revealed to Sapph that I have an evil twin. She thinks I keep her locked in a cupboard .I told her she was simply sent to her room ;) revealed to someone else my intense dislike of tatoos . Where is this all going ?:??:B)

Had a plate full of roast potatoes, peppers and aubergines drizzled with olive oil and balsamico and boy were they GOOOOOOD ! I so enjoyed scoffing them and feel hungrier now than when I started . WHY is that ? Perhaps it has to do with empty carbs and GI or something.

  • My Sunday continues in Blogland

I wish I hadn't bothered and stayed in Blogland rather than going out for tea. It seemed like a good idea at the time. I said " YES "to that part of me that was saying " you're not going to stay in all day again , are you ? " nag nag .... :))

I don't like the cafe that my friend likes. For my friend this place has memories of good times they've had there over the years and they are still well and truly attached.

For me - all I see is tacky tacky and food that is overpriced and boring. Tea was good though. I should have just had the tea ... basta cosi ... but oh no .. I had to have the spinach and focaccia which was the only non- meaty snack there.

My friend loves this place. It is hard for me to be enthusiastic. I can't pretend. WYSIWYG ...WHat you see is what you get I am hopeless at disguising my feelings . The unstated alsways shows in the form of heaviness. Thank goodness they closed at 4:30 so we went our separate ways after that. I was invited for a glass of wine afterwards .. maybe I should have gone , but at the time I just felt like getting out of the heaviness.

I beat myself up all the way home as I resent paying for food that I don't like in a place that brings me down. I realise I am blaming my woes on the place , when in actual fact there must be something in me that I am not owning.

Once home and after an hour or so in Blogland I feel human again. Hopefully all resentment has now been transmuted and healed. NO sense in hanging on to resentemnt is there ? So I forgive myself, bless and let resentment go.

I even phoned my mum and had a nice chat who told me that my cousin in Latvia had died a week ago. Apparently he'd had cancer in the kidneys. Bless his soul. Scary part is that both he and his father died of cancer. I keep affirming that my own genes are cancer free.

Wonder if there is a good film on the telly tonight, preferably a comedy. I feel like laughing and being entertained.

  • Neti pot for sinus health

In the U.S., sinus problems is the #1 reason people see a doctor. With increasing pollution and chemicals in our environment, there is an enormous rise in the number of people who suffer various forms of nasal congestion and respiratory illnesses. Alternative health practitioners throughout the world recommend the regular practice of nasal cleansing using a saline solution as part of a regular regimen of health and wellness, a basic health-maintenance activity equal to flossing your teeth. Neti is a gentle, safe, efficient way to deliver a good cleansing dose of saline to the nose.

    http://www.healingdaily.com/exercise/neti-pot.jpg

Although the practice of nasal irrigation originated in India, today there are numerous people in Europe and the United States who use this simple technique as part of their daily routine.

    Read more here :

    http://www.healingdaily.com/exercise/neti-pot.htm

If, like a lot of people, you find that your nasal passages are blocked because of pollution, pollen, dust and other irritants, you may find this simple nasal irrigation technique to be of invaluable benefit to you.

The practice of nasal cleansing - known as Neti - has been used by practitioners of Ayurveda and Yoga in India for thousands of years. Neti is one of the 6 purification techniques performed prior to practicing yoga as a way of preparing the body for the yoga practice.

While there exist advanced techniques using various herbal oils and herbs, the simplest Neti technique uses water for the irrigation process. Lukewarm water is used to gently cleanse the nasal passages. A soothing, gentle stream of salt water, the same concentration as tears, flows through your nose, washing away pollens, mucus, viruses and bacteria. Use of a neti pot is recommended to ease this process.

Many health practitioners consider the nasal passages to be the doorway for most diseases. The nasal passage, with its finely-tuned mechanism of hairs and mucus membranes, which are intended to catch and restrain foreign entities from entering our bodies, actually is one of the ways nature protects us from diseases. Unfortunately, this filtering mechanism can become overloaded through high exposure to pollution, chemicals, fragrances, pollen and dust. Cleansing this filter regularly allows it to operate more efficiently.

A simple yet very powerful technique, neti works wonders for chronic sinusitis, and allergies. It has a remarkable effect on upper respiratory tract infections, especially hay fever. In fact, neti is so beneficial that responses usually change from "YUK, there is no way I am ever going to try that" to "WOW. That is fantastic. I am hooked for life" after just one trial.

Your neti pot should be right for YOUR nostrils: Choose a neti pot with a
smoothly tapered conical tip at the spout end. This facilitates
support on the nostril walls of varying sizes. More importantly, this minimizes spillage as it 'plugs' the inlet nostril. ..................

( For a comfortable saline solution, mix 1/4 - 1/2 teaspoon of non-iodized salt into one cup of warm water. Note that the mucus membranes are sensitive, and the ideal solution is close to one's own blood by temperature, salinity, and pH. When measuring by volume using a measuring spoon, the correct amount of salt is influenced by the coarseness of the salt. The proper amount of fine common table salt is 1/4 teaspoon per cup water; while a very coarse salt (kosher) may require 1/2 teaspoon per cup. Many otolaryngologists suggest adding a small amount of baking soda to balance the pH and decrease the chance of "burning" the nasal mucosa.)

  • It is natural for my body to feel well ( Healing . Abraham/ Hicks )

I'm such a woos when it comes to handling physical pain and appreciate all the relief and help available. One thing that is often overlooked in pain management is the power of our mind.- mind over matter. When I was in hospital I read through this list often as a form of " healthy brainwashing ".

It is good to read through these statements last thing at night before you drop off to sleep, which is the time you are most open to suggestion. I sincerely believe that positive thoughts are an important part of healing.

Do this process when lying in a comfortable place. The more comfortable the better . Choose a time when you have 15 minutes of undisturbed time .Write this short list in a place where it will be easy for you to read and when you lie down , read it slowly to yourself.

From: p.284 of " Ask and it is given " by Abraham / Hicks

It is natural for my body to be well

Even if I don't know what to do in order to get better , my body does

I have trillions of cells with individual consciousness and the know how to achieve their individual balance

When this condition began , I didn?t know what I know now

If I had known then what I know now, this condition couldn?t have got started

I don't need to understand the cause of this illness

I don't need to explain how it is that I am experiencing this illness

I have only to gently , eventually , release this illness.

It doesn't matter that it got started , because it is reversing its course now.

It is natural that it would take some time for my body to align to my improved thoughts of Well- Being.

There's no hurry about any of this

My body knows what to do

My inner Being is intricately aware of my physical body

My cells are asking for what they need in order to thrive and Source Energy is answering those requests.

I am in very good hands

I will relax now , to allow communication between my body and my Source.

My only work is to relax and breathe

    I can do that

    I can do that easily

If you were experiencing pain when you laid down, follow the same process. However if you were feeling pain it would be helpful for you to add these words to your written spoken list.

This sensation of pain is an indicator that Source is responding to my cellular request for Energy.

This sensation of pain is a wonderful indicator that help is on the way.

I will relax into this sensation of pain because I understand that it's indicating improvement.

Now, If you can, drift off to sleep . Smile in your knowledge that All is Well . Breathe and relax  and trust.

    More on physical pain :

The next time you feel any discomfort, stop in the middle of it and say to youself :

" This discomfort that I'm feeling is nothing more than my awareness to resistance. It's time for me to relax and breathe, relax and breathe , relax and breathe ."

Physical experience is about monitoring those circuits and keeping them as open as possible. Your cells know what to do ; they are summoning the Energy.

  • Raining cats and dogs again

It's raining cats and dogs again.
    How do I know?
    I just stepped into a poodle ;)

But seriously.. it is chucking it down. Won't have to water the flowers on the balcony.

Things happen all at once. This woman I know , neighbour from a few blocks down the road phones me with her distress story. She has been robbed - her handbag and all credit cards gone. She has spent most of the day contacting police and cancelling all the cards which also means that she has no cash.

Now , the scary thing is , that here in Sundbyberg in July , most people are away. Her own house is empty so she phones me, someone she barely knows to see if I can lend her a few kronor until Monday.

My life is so calm and peaceful , nothing much ever happens , but just as she calls I am in the middle of talking to a friend in Atlanta and also waiting for another call from abroad. Why do things always happen at once ?

I am lighting a candle now for everyone in discomfort and distress ..peaceful thoughts .. the peace of all things calm .

    YES !

K&P's little summer house on the allotment.Doesn't it look like a doll's house ?

Here we all outside on the veranda. The rain clouds had dispersed and it turned out to be a fine evening.

    http://bp0.blogger.com/_oKQZLOi_sLQ/Rpf8VzsIBxI/AAAAAAAAAeQ/GfR4-s2oFzY/s320/DSC00022.JPG

Pether grabs the camera, shoots me and then spots killer slugs that need to be seen to

Kjell places a whole salmon , minus its head  on the grill, and pust the lid on for it to cook. In the meantime , there's wine and tapas. All sorts of yummy things - no pics - so focused was I on chatting, eating and enjoying .

    http://bp1.blogger.com/_oKQZLOi_sLQ/Rpf74DsIBuI/AAAAAAAAAd4/PHIeaF1miFM/s320/DSC00014.JPG

The potatoes and greens all fresh from the garden .

Here's what's left of dessert . There was ice cream too , but again I was distracted ;)

This is where I was .
Back now .. talk later :)
    Night night ..............sweet dreams :wave::DD

  • Off to K& P's summer residence in the rain

Off to Kjell and Pether's summer residence - a tiny dolls house of a place on an allotment near the cemetary :) It's Very pictoresque and cosy actually. The big cemetary is right next door which adds spookiness.

We're fed up waiting for the rain to stop , so it will just have to vino indoors if the skies decide to open.

Catch you all later .. enjoy your Friday evening everyone
    kisses and hugs  :D

  • Orange ginger cake

    Wholemeal flour ( 225g) 8 oz
    bicarbonate of soda ½ tsp ( 2.5ml)
equal amout of baking powder ½ tsp
Ground gunger 2 tsp ( 10 ml) could try a little more if you dare ;)
    100 g butter
    100 g raw brown sugar .. muscavado
    4tbs black treacle ( 60ml)
    2tbsp milk ( I didn't have any so I used creme fraiche )
    1 free range egg

Stir together the dry ingredients ( flour bicarb, bakingpowder, ginger)

Melt butter , sugar and treacle together in a pan
Cool slightly and then beat in milk and egg. ( I had to ad a bit of water )

    Beat well.

Bake in oven at 180C ( 350F/Mark4 ) until risen and firm
Now the recipe says 40- 45 minutes . Mine was done in less than 30 minutes . I suppose it depends on the size of your tin.

    ORANGE ICING

juice & finely grated peel of some of the juice of one orange
    soft butter
    icing sugar
    mix well together
This can either go on top or in the middle

Put soften butter, grated orange and icing sugar in a bowl , beat until creamy and then add a little juice , This is a bit tricky. It need work, Mabe cream cheese flavoured with orange would work well too. My icing was a bit runny , but it tasted YUMMY never the less .the orange and ginger go so well together . mmmmmmm

    Have fun :)
    X

  • My king prawn sauce ( for Meno and Mrs F )

Start by tossing some olive oil into couldron
    add chopped onion
    after a while
garlic .. lots of it .. I had about 5 cloves for 2-3 servings
then a splash of ouzo !! ( yes .. or Pernod is fine too.. it gives a most yummy aniseed flavour )

next chopped zucchini ( courgettes or squash whatever you like to call them )

chopped mixed peppers .. red , green, yellow, orange ...

one chilli ( I scrape out the seeds )

after that pureed tomatoes ..one carton .. not paste , it's too thick and concentrated .. peeled fresh tomatoes would also be good

    a dash of soya

spices to taste ..( this is where your alchemy skills come in ... try coriander , mixed spice ...indian type spices .. just a little bit of each .. this is an art ..subtle is the word .. keep tasting )

honey and salt to taste ( honey also lifts and enhances the taste of the tomatoes a bit )

then a couple of spoons of creme fraiche to round things off
maybe a little more garlic or ouzo if you like aniseed .. salt and peppar.

so this is your sauce ready .

    FINALLY ....
you take your frozen king prawns that have thawed out by now and you dump them into the hot sauce to heat through. DON'T overcook as they tend to go chewy

Serve with jasmin or basmati rice and a little crisp green salad .

Pinot Grigio , dry Italian wine went evry well with this , I thought

    YUMMMMM

We ate a lot and there is still one serving left for me today :)

    Bon apetit :)

    ;wave:

  • Tootsies on holiday

    21_19

Here ya go Meno ....

  • Licking the spoon and signing off now

Leftovers from this evening's meal are all put away in the fridge for tomorrow's lunch . The king prawn sauce that I threw together turned out so extra special yummy . COuldn't help licking the spoon while transferring contents of couldron into tuppaware dishes.

I gave half the orange ginger cake to Anna-Stina to take home with her.. best so :) Smart move , Mira :)

Today's visit to Kjell and Pether's little summer residence was postponed as it was raining. We shall try again tomorrow oops it is tomorrow already .. Friday the 13th too , it is .

Hang on to your seatbelts , bed posts or broomsticks . It's going to be a fantabulous day :)

    Night night ..........

Peace be with us all :)

  • Does evil exist ?

    Does evil exist?

One day a professor at a university decided to test his pupils. He asked: "Did God create everything that exists?"

A student answered bravely "Yes he did".

    "Everything? " asked the teacher.

"Yes, everything" was the student's answer.

"In this case, God also created evil. Correct? Because evil exists," said the teacher....

To that, the student had no answer, and remained silent. The teacher was delighted at the opportunity to prove that faith was only a myth.

Suddenly, another studen raised his hand, and asked: "May I
    ask you a question, professor?"

    "Of course" was the answer.

    -"Does cold exist?"

"Of course," answered the professor, "Didn't you
    ever feel cold?

-"Actually, sir, cold does not exist. According to the studies of
physics, cold is the total and complete absence of heat. We created the term cold to explain the lack of heat".

    -"And darkness?" continued the student

    "It exists" answered the professor.

-"Again, you're wrong", said the student"darkness is the total
absence of light. You can study light and brightness, but not
darkness The "Prism of Nichols "shows the variety of different
colours in which light can be decomposed according to the longitude of the waves. Darkness is the term we created to explain the total absence of light.

"And finally", the student asked, "Evil, sir, does evil exist?
God did not create evil. Evil is the absence of God in people's hearts; it is the absence of love, humanity and faith. Love
and faith are like heat and light, they exist, their absence leads
    to evil".

Now it was the professor's time to remain silent. The name of thestudent was " Albert Einsetein ".

  • morning thoughts and feelings

I had to get up at the crack of dawn today , something that really turns me upside down. Anyway ,after a long nap and lunch I am beginning to feel human again.

My morning reading again centres on how we create our own reality with our thoughts and how our thoughts - every thought that we have, conscious or unconscious is creating our reality.

The author suggests that we ask ourselves from time to time " Why did I create this particular situation ? and to take responsibility for our part in the co- creation process.

It is an interesting question especially when I look back over my life and see all the things, all the experiences that I have created as the author and creator of my own story - or rather co- author, since I create together with a higher power that I refer to as " All That Is " or " The Universe " or some such similar name.

Here and now in Blogland , I saw that I had created or drawn to me an invitation ,from a 30 year old Chinese person who only spoke Chinese and used translation software to communicate his message.

What touched me deeply about this was the lengths that this person had gone to in order to reach out and send his message. Why me ? No doubt he sent it to dozens of others too and I was not the only one. Still unless he sent it to EVERYONE in Blogland there is still an element of choice and chance.

I got the sense that the subject was something he was passionate about but words that he had written and I tried so desparately to understand appeared to me as gibberish . How frustrating.

I felt there was little point in including this person in my friends list. Am I taking this friends business too seriously ? A couple of people on my list communicate only visually and infrequently , but at least it is communication. I don't know what this chap is saying.

So I have spent half an hour or so thinking about it when I could have simply deleted the invite. What made me stop and think ? What made me write about this and share it with you ? There are so many different paths this could have taken. So many different realities that could have been created. For all I know , these probable realities might be in the process of being created in other parallel dimensions.

There is another kind of language ,which makes communication possible in face to face situations. It is the Language of the Soul and is felt or perceieved . I am still developing this particular form of communication on line and maybe , juts maybe , this form of communication will beceome a reality in the not too distant future. I do hope so.:):yes:

    8) He said...Since I first laid eyes on you, I've wanted to make love to you in the worst way. She said...Well, you succeeded.

  • Evening

The Prof came by after work .Always great to see him. Served my own version of Lena's bulgur salad and sesame marinated salmon.

He's all excited about the selling of his flat and been ever so good interviewing real estate agents, negotiating mortgages with banks as well as perparing the flat for viewing 16 and 17th July. 17 07 07 seems like an auspicious time.

He and JOhanna will be in Skåne, south of Sweden for a week staying at Johanna's summer place. It's been raining a lot in the south - I hope they get better weather.

There are hotair balloons dotted all over the sky as I look out of the window. The air is still and calm but still quite cold .

Tomorrow I have to be up bright and early to leave a urine sample at the hospital. I've also been invited to Kjell and Pether's summer house - a little mini home on an alotment near Skogskyrkogården woodland cemetary - which is quite famous actually

    - more about that later.

All for now ............peace in all dimensions

  • It is simply so .

"Besides the noble art of getting things done,
there is the noble art of leaving things undone.
The wisdom of life consists in the elimination of
    non-essentials."

    -- Lin Yutang

Do you feel a desire to simplify your life?

If you say ‘yes,’ then set an intention to reduce
the demands, stimuli, interruptions and busyness
in your life. We each have the power to do this
    – we simply have to begin to say ‘no’ to those
activities that don’t directly serve what we want
    for our lives.

Everyone of this planet deserves to have some
free time to think, relax and have fun. If you long
for this, begin now to clear your plate and allow
a new level of experience to happen in your
life. Take charge. Eliminate time wasters. Make some
decisions about what matters to you.

"The ability to simplify means to eliminate the
unnecessary so that the necessary may speak."

  • Reflections , thoughts, emotions

Right .. write .. o.k, then , mid afternoon I finally settle down to do my first blog of the day.

The first pee of the day is the one medical people want .. undiluted.. concentrated. This may be so for the first blog. Concentrated thoughts , emotions , impressions after a night's sleep in Dreamland.

It usually takes me hours to wake up and land into mundane reality and since I have the luxury of doing just that , I take it and I am grateful for it. :)

This morning I woke up wanting to explore my feelings and state of mind. This is often tricky , because words for me come much much later. The feeling .. the emotion is abstract and undefined, unwilling to be clothed in form.

So , what I do when this happens is to sit with coloured pens and paper , play and see what emerges. A sort of meditation .

It was a lovely outing - despite the weather. A real adventure. Lena is a great hostess and had prepared lots of yummy food. By the time the strwaberries and home made ice - cream and chocolate chip cookies came around I was not in photoprapher mode - so you don't get to see that.

We had to keep an eye on the carpenters too, of course. Men at work ;) The new self- contained study guest house is taking shape nicely essentially One room with its own shower and sauna and maginifent view of the sea.

  • Back from Lena's island

I think we were brave to venture out there today. It was cold and wet, but at least not wild. Cosy indoors with open fire food and wine. Will post pics tomorrow - right now I'm shattered and need my beauty sleep :zz::zz::zz::zz::wave:

A dear crossed the road in front of us on the way home .. so pretty .. oh dear oh dear XX

  • Off to Lena's island

The server was down last night just before I went to bed so I wasn't able to "goodnight blog " *sighs* Anxious moments this morning on logging on ..will there be internet or not ? .. BUT .. there was .. It IS BACK !! hurray !! We can do without these moments lol

Anyway our GJLM meeting is to be on Lena's island :) Jill is picking Gunilla and I up in town and we are driving out there to Älgö .." ELk Island " or "Moose Island ". It's actually the name for a whole group of little islands - there are thousands out in the archipelago. Anyway , Lena's island has just her house on it as far as I remember . She has to come and get us by boat- it is not accessible any other way.

Just received a text reminding me to bring my Tarot cards and to buy Sesame oil. Easily fixed. Both items at home :)

SO, will be back later today with great tales to tell . Catch up with you all then . Toodle pip ....(((( hugs ))))) :)

  • Sankara's question

"Throughout human history, we've seen many different ways of organizing and governing ourselves, and none of them seems to work. Aristocracy is too arrogant, communism overlooks our basic need for incentive, capitalism is too rapacious and fascism too cruel - and now we see the rise of Islam with Sharia law as a governing dynamic, and in China, the strange synthesis of centralised socialism mixed with capitalism.

What do you think is the direction we should be taking? Particularly given the current challenges we face, what social system (if any) do you think would really work? "

I'm going to have to think about this .
Do have a go and let Sankara know :)

  • There's Brandy Alexander ice cream too !!!!

    http://www.epicurious.com/images/recipes/recipe_results/thumb/photos/232842.jpg

Way back in my younger wilder days, playboy boyfriend Martin used to make these for me in his very own bar in Sloane square. He used grated chocolate instead of nutmeg though.

    Recipe
    Ingredients:

    1 1/2 oz Brandy
1 oz Dark Creme de Cacao
1 oz Half-and-half or Heavy cream
    1/4 tsp grated Nutmeg
    Mixing instructions:

In a shaker half-filled with ice cubes, combine the brandy, creme de cacao, and half-and-half. Shake well. Strain into a cocktail glass and garnish with the nutmeg.

    [edit] Alternate recipe
    Ingredients:

2 jiggers dark creme de cocoa
    1 jigger brandy
    1 pt. vanilla ice cream
    1 c. crushed ice
    Mixing instructions:

Put all ingredients in blender. Cover and frappe until sherbet consistency. Serve in small brandy snifters with nutmeg sprinkled on top. Yield: 6 (3 oz.) drinks.

    Looky MENO !!!!![edit] Dessert recipe
    Brandy Alexander Ice Cream

The alcohol in the mixture will slow the freezing process down and the ice cream will be very soft. If you want a firmer ice cream, make it a day ahead and place the bowl with the freshly made ice cream back in the freezer, allowing it to firm up overnight. Any way you go, this ice cream is absolutely delicious.

    5 egg yolks
    1 cup sugar
    2 tablespoons plain flour
    1 1/2 cups milk
    1 1/2 cups heavy cream
    4 tablespoons Kahlua
    4 tablespoons brandy
    Mixing instructions:

Whisk egg yolks, sugar, and flour together until pale and thick. Place milk and cream in a heavy saucepan and heat until very hot, but do not allow to boil. Stir constantly to prevent scorching. Whisk the milk mixture into egg mixture and return mixture to saucepan. Cook, stirring constantly, until mixture coats the back of a metal spoon. Stir in remaining ingredients.

Pour into glass bowl, cover and chill in the refrigerator or freezer for at least three hours.

To make the ice cream, pour the chilled mixture into the frozen bowl of the ice cream maker and freeze according to the manufacturer's instructions. Makes about a quart.

Oh boy ,,,,,,,, *mira swoons *

  • Forgiveness

In the Babemba tribe of South Africa, when a person acts
irresponsibly or unjustly, he is placed in the centre of the village, alone and unfettered.

All work ceases, and every man, woman, and child in the village
gathers in a large circle around the accused individual.

Then each person in the tribe speaks to the accused, one at a
time, each recalling the good things the person in the centre of
the circle has done in his lifetime. Every incident, every
experience that can be recalled with any detail and accuracy,
is recounted. All his positive attributes, good deeds, strengths,
and kindnesses are recited carefully and at length. This tribal
ceremony often lasts for several days.

At the end, the tribal circle is broken, a joyous celebration
takes place, and the person is symbolically and literally
    welcomed back into the tribe.
