  • A lovely story

Once upon a time , there was a young woman who had been living alone in celibacy for quite a few years after several disasterous relationships and two marriages to men who treated her badly.

One day, one of her teenage sons surprised her by suggesting they go on holiday together to the a beautiful Greek Island of Patmos. The young woman is particularly pleased because she is a very spiritual person who loves to sit and meditate in old churches and sacred places.

The son , who is hoping to be a writer one day , packs his case full of books to read and writing materials , so that while his mother is meditating and exploring some church or sacred place he is quite happy in a taverna somewhere reading or writing as inspiration strikes him.

One day , the young woman climbs the hill to the monastery. Such is the magic of the place that she wants to stay there longer. She hides behind a pillar hoping to be locked in there on her own during siesta time. However to her great dismay , a monk sees her and tells her she has to leave.

Just then , two men appear with the monks. They too have come from a far away place . The man and woman's eyes meet and sparks start to fly. They start to talk and sink deeper and deeper into each other's souls.

Once outside , they say their goodbyes and the two men who are cousins , hop on their bikes and ride away into town while the woman climbs further up to a cave to meditate.

Then the miracle happens. One of the men says to the other . "It's no good , I can't leave things like this . I must go back and find this woman."

He drives off , back up the hill , gets off his bike and runs puffing and panting up the hill where he find the young woman in the cave. "I could not simply leave like that he says."

Several hours later , she hops onto the back of his bike , her arms around his waist and his hands clasp hers and they drive off into the sunset towards the town . This is just the beginning.

She returns to Sweden and he returns to the USA where he sells all his possessions and buys a one way ticket to join his wife to be in Sweden in August,

We wish them both all the very very best :) I hope they will live happily ever after.

This is the true story. I am not making it up as I go along.

  • 4 things you need to do to be thin for life

1   Eat whenever you are hungry

2   Eat what you want and not what you think you should

3   Eat consciously and enjoy every mouthful

4   Stop when you think you are full

  • Feeling rebellious and provocative

There is something in the air tonight. I can feel it . Is it my stuff or someone else's ?

I revealed to Sapph that I have an evil twin. She thinks I keep her locked in a cupboard .I told her she was simply sent to her room ;) revealed to someone else my intense dislike of tatoos . Where is this all going ?:??:B)

Had a plate full of roast potatoes, peppers and aubergines drizzled with olive oil and balsamico and boy were they GOOOOOOD ! I so enjoyed scoffing them and feel hungrier now than when I started . WHY is that ? Perhaps it has to do with empty carbs and GI or something.

    ;)

  • My Sunday continues in Blogland

I wish I hadn't bothered and stayed in Blogland rather than going out for tea. It seemed like a good idea at the time. I said " YES "to that part of me that was saying " you're not going to stay in all day again , are you ? " nag nag .... :))

I don't like the cafe that my friend likes. For my friend this place has memories of good times they've had there over the years and they are still well and truly attached.

For me - all I see is tacky tacky and food that is overpriced and boring. Tea was good though. I should have just had the tea ... basta cosi ... but oh no .. I had to have the spinach and focaccia which was the only non- meaty snack there.

My friend loves this place. It is hard for me to be enthusiastic. I can't pretend. WYSIWYG ...WHat you see is what you get I am hopeless at disguising my feelings . The unstated alsways shows in the form of heaviness. Thank goodness they closed at 4:30 so we went our separate ways after that. I was invited for a glass of wine afterwards .. maybe I should have gone , but at the time I just felt like getting out of the heaviness.

I beat myself up all the way home as I resent paying for food that I don't like in a place that brings me down. I realise I am blaming my woes on the place , when in actual fact there must be something in me that I am not owning.

Once home and after an hour or so in Blogland I feel human again. Hopefully all resentment has now been transmuted and healed. NO sense in hanging on to resentemnt is there ? So I forgive myself, bless and let resentment go.

I even phoned my mum and had a nice chat who told me that my cousin in Latvia had died a week ago. Apparently he'd had cancer in the kidneys. Bless his soul. Scary part is that both he and his father died of cancer. I keep affirming that my own genes are cancer free.

Wonder if there is a good film on the telly tonight, preferably a comedy. I feel like laughing and being entertained.

  • Neti pot for sinus health

In the U.S., sinus problems is the #1 reason people see a doctor. With increasing pollution and chemicals in our environment, there is an enormous rise in the number of people who suffer various forms of nasal congestion and respiratory illnesses. Alternative health practitioners throughout the world recommend the regular practice of nasal cleansing using a saline solution as part of a regular regimen of health and wellness, a basic health-maintenance activity equal to flossing your teeth. Neti is a gentle, safe, efficient way to deliver a good cleansing dose of saline to the nose.

Although the practice of nasal irrigation originated in India, today there are numerous people in Europe and the United States who use this simple technique as part of their daily routine.

    Read more here :

If, like a lot of people, you find that your nasal passages are blocked because of pollution, pollen, dust and other irritants, you may find this simple nasal irrigation technique to be of invaluable benefit to you.

The practice of nasal cleansing - known as Neti - has been used by practitioners of Ayurveda and Yoga in India for thousands of years. Neti is one of the 6 purification techniques performed prior to practicing yoga as a way of preparing the body for the yoga practice.

While there exist advanced techniques using various herbal oils and herbs, the simplest Neti technique uses water for the irrigation process. Lukewarm water is used to gently cleanse the nasal passages. A soothing, gentle stream of salt water, the same concentration as tears, flows through your nose, washing away pollens, mucus, viruses and bacteria. Use of a neti pot is recommended to ease this process.

Many health practitioners consider the nasal passages to be the doorway for most diseases. The nasal passage, with its finely-tuned mechanism of hairs and mucus membranes, which are intended to catch and restrain foreign entities from entering our bodies, actually is one of the ways nature protects us from diseases. Unfortunately, this filtering mechanism can become overloaded through high exposure to pollution, chemicals, fragrances, pollen and dust. Cleansing this filter regularly allows it to operate more efficiently.

A simple yet very powerful technique, neti works wonders for chronic sinusitis, and allergies. It has a remarkable effect on upper respiratory tract infections, especially hay fever. In fact, neti is so beneficial that responses usually change from "YUK, there is no way I am ever going to try that" to "WOW. That is fantastic. I am hooked for life" after just one trial.

Your neti pot should be right for YOUR nostrils: Choose a neti pot with a
smoothly tapered conical tip at the spout end. This facilitates
support on the nostril walls of varying sizes. More importantly, this minimizes spillage as it 'plugs' the inlet nostril. ..................

( For a comfortable saline solution, mix 1/4 - 1/2 teaspoon of non-iodized salt into one cup of warm water. Note that the mucus membranes are sensitive, and the ideal solution is close to one's own blood by temperature, salinity, and pH. When measuring by volume using a measuring spoon, the correct amount of salt is influenced by the coarseness of the salt. The proper amount of fine common table salt is 1/4 teaspoon per cup water; while a very coarse salt (kosher) may require 1/2 teaspoon per cup. Many otolaryngologists suggest adding a small amount of baking soda to balance the pH and decrease the chance of "burning" the nasal mucosa.)

  • Sunday continues

I like Sundays . Didn't used to , but now I enjoy the serenity of it all.

It's so windy today . Going into town now to meet a friend for tea and a good old chinwag.

    Back with news later.

  • It is natural for my body to feel well ( Healing . Abraham/ Hicks )

I'm such a woos when it comes to handling physical pain and appreciate all the relief and help available. One thing that is often overlooked in pain management is the power of our mind.- mind over matter. When I was in hospital I read through this list often as a form of " healthy brainwashing ".

It is good to read through these statements last thing at night before you drop off to sleep, which is the time you are most open to suggestion. I sincerely believe that positive thoughts are an important part of healing.

Do this process when lying in a comfortable place. The more comfortable the better . Choose a time when you have 15 minutes of undisturbed time .Write this short list in a place where it will be easy for you to read and when you lie down , read it slowly to yourself.

From: p.284 of " Ask and it is given " by Abraham / Hicks

It is natural for my body to be well

Even if I don't know what to do in order to get better , my body does

I have trillions of cells with individual consciousness and the know how to achieve their individual balance

When this condition began , I didn?t know what I know now

If I had known then what I know now, this condition couldn?t have got started

I don't need to understand the cause of this illness

I don't need to explain how it is that I am experiencing this illness

I have only to gently , eventually , release this illness.

It doesn't matter that it got started , because it is reversing its course now.

It is natural that it would take some time for my body to align to my improved thoughts of Well- Being.

There's no hurry about any of this

My body knows what to do

My inner Being is intricately aware of my physical body

My cells are asking for what they need in order to thrive and Source Energy is answering those requests.

I am in very good hands

I will relax now , to allow communication between my body and my Source.

My only work is to relax and breathe

    I can do that

    I can do that easily

If you were experiencing pain when you laid down, follow the same process. However if you were feeling pain it would be helpful for you to add these words to your written spoken list.

This sensation of pain is an indicator that Source is responding to my cellular request for Energy.

This sensation of pain is a wonderful indicator that help is on the way.

I will relax into this sensation of pain because I understand that it's indicating improvement.

Now, If you can, drift off to sleep . Smile in your knowledge that All is Well . Breathe and relax  and trust.

    More on physical pain :

The next time you feel any discomfort, stop in the middle of it and say to youself :

" This discomfort that I'm feeling is nothing more than my awareness to resistance. It's time for me to relax and breathe, relax and breathe , relax and breathe ."

Physical experience is about monitoring those circuits and keeping them as open as possible. Your cells know what to do ; they are summoning the Energy.
