Oh it was lovely !

by miramaze @ Thursday, 19. Jul, 2007 - 23:25:31

In answer to those of you who have been asking. My shiatsu session was lovely ! :)

Shiatsu, also known as acupressure, is a finger pressure massage technique. that is sometimes confused with acupuncture. It involves squeezing, rubbing, and applied pressure are applied along the meridians to unblock energy blockages and reintroduce the optimal flow of ki.

First I lie on my back and Jeremy , who is from Oz, checks me out stomach, wrists, energy points, chatting ten to the dozen and answering my questions. He also tells good jokes, I forget most of what he tells me about he heat and the cold arising and the funny names of the points in Chinese. I remember he recommended a Sour Japanese plum once - its name sounded like " o my goshi " lol umbegoshi ? something like that - anyway it was supposed to be very good for you and healthy . I have still to find it ;)

I think he talks a lot to distract me because some of the pressure points hurt a bit . If I yell or complain a bit, he eases up , as it's not good to be tense. There's sadistic side to all healers , I reckon lol

It's amazing how he gets energies to move though. I was quite sweaty and could feel the heat surging down to my toes . " you are a good responsive patient " he says .. lol .. but they all say that , don't they :)) I think men enjoy hearing women moan :))

He also showed me some acupressure points on the soles of my feet which I'm supposed to massage. Where ? Well it's below the little toe .. find a place that hurts and that's it ! That seems to be the general rool-.. if it hurts , massage it .. not too hard at first ... apply more pressure as you go.

There was also a point on the back of my calf that hurt like hell .. and by my shoulder.

Oh it was such good fun .. and the hour whizzed by. I feel energised and refreshed .. my ki flowing gracefully now :)

Aware And Awake

by miramaze @ Thursday, 19. Jul, 2007 - 13:34:31

Intent

We tend to associate the energy of intent with complicated or profoundly meaningful actions that require our full attention and effort in order to succeed. For example, walking a tightrope, taking a test, and taking a vow are all tasks that call us to be fully present and single-minded. However, intent can also be applied to everyday events, like eating breakfast or going to work. In fact, everything we do benefits from the presence of intent, which has the power to transform seemingly mundane tasks into profound experiences. You only have to try it to find out.

Intent is one of the cornerstones of the Zen tradition of Buddhism in which monks work for years to develop the stillness and sharpness of mind to do only one thing at a time. Most of the time we are doing one thing and thinking of something else, or even doing three things at the same time, such as talking on the phone, doing dishes, and boiling water for tea. There is nothing inherently wrong with multitasking, which seems necessary at times, especially in the midst of family life. However, balancing this with a healthy dose of intentional activity can provide valuable insight into the benefits of doing one thing at a time, being fully present with whatever the task at hand happens to be.

From the moment we wake up, we can apply intent to our situation by simply saying to ourselves, "I am aware that I am now awake." We can use this simple tool throughout our day, saying, "I am aware that I am driving to work." "I am aware that I am making dinner." Or even, "I am aware that I am breathing." As we acknowledge what we are doing in these moments, we come alive to our bodies and to the world, owning our actions instead of habitually performing them. We may realize how often we act without intention and how this disengages us from reality. Applying the energy of intent to even one task a day has the power to transform our lives. Just imagine what would happen if we were able to apply that power to our entire day

My body

by miramaze @ Thursday, 19. Jul, 2007 - 13:07:25

I used to think that my body was very much like a suitcase or heavy leather bag full of stones , something to be dragged around. Cumbersome. A hassle. Limiting. Restraining. In my thoughts I'd be at the door and my body was several feet begind.

Not any more. I am learning . I am changing. Incidentally this all started with dis-ease 16 years ago.It was the beginning of a metamorphosis. Long story.

Today I think of my body as the sacred and beautiful home for my soul.

My body is a fantastic and wonderous designer made costume , perfectly, uniquely and purposefully designed for me to enable me to carry out my Life Purpose.

I have learned to stand in front of the mirror naked and to look and appreciate without judgement and even to say

" Body of Mira .. I love and appreciate you. Thank you for being my very best friend. Forgive me when I am unkind to you , when I ignore you and forget to listen to you.Let's work together to feel good. "

Training. This does not happen overnight . Perseverence pays :) I still can't do this very well with photographs. The camera does not always portray the truth ;)

My body and soul are in cahoots. They collaborate . They have this amazing cooperation.

My soul is constantly yearning to express itself through my body.

Now and then , this soul energy seeking expression comes up against blocks caused by dense thought forms that manifest physically as disease.

My body , although it may look solid is in fact a mass of energy particles spinning , vibrating and dancing together. There are seven main energy centres known as chakras that are colourful spinning wheels of energy .. red, orange, yellow, green , blue and indigo /purple/ violet. When these are balanced and spinning away happily the organs that they supply with energy are also happy and healthy. When there are blockages , the organs suffer and there is dis-ease.

Lots more to be said .. enough for now :)

The challenge of relationships

by miramaze @ Thursday, 19. Jul, 2007 - 12:41:45

Despite our passion for romantic love, relationships are not the easiest way to find love and peace. They are, however, one of the most effective for finding our blocks.:)) This is important to note when asking the Universe to send you a soul mate :))

Relationships naturally bring out into full view our desires, attachments and unconscious programs – our likes, dislikes, belief systems, judgements, compulsions, conformities, etc. Relationships challenge us because they take us deep into thoughts, feelings and experiences we have suppressed for a lifetime. That’s why they provide the very best arena for personal growth!

I am not in an intimate personal relationship at the moment, but here in Blogland I really appreciate all those of you who share your relationships with me so openly. Bless you all with love and whatever it takes to nurture your relationships.

“Human relationships are the perfect tool for sanding away our rough edges and getting at the core of divinity within us.”

-- Eknath Easwaran

We are all diamonds in the rough .. diamonds in the buff ;) :))

Morning thoughts and feelings

by miramaze @ Thursday, 19. Jul, 2007 - 12:31:41

My thoughts this morning stem from my dream last night as well as reading and reflecting.

I've been thinking a lot about my relationship with my body, sexual energy and energy medicine. Going for a shiatsu treatmet later today to get the energy juices flowing to encourage healing :)

The MOON is waxing
, as of 14/7 . This is a highly energetic time ; magnifying , lengthening .....swelling .... extending ..accelerating ..expanding ..growing .. until 30/7

There are alternative ways of looking at things and dealing with things.

I feel angry.... frustrated.... indignant that I / we will seemingly do what ever it takes to hold on to the status quo and resist change and moving forward. Fear of course is behind this. Most of us are afraid of change and subscribe to the belief " Better the devil you know than the devil you don't know. " which is ridiculous . It is an example of a belief that does not serve and we simple accept without question.

" the grass is greener ...." Is it really ?
" money does not grow on trees " well I know , but is the ESSENCE of this true ????

These are all limiting beliefs.

I'm getting myself worked up now .. just noticing ... ;)

...*pause for a deep breath or two *

I feel I want to stir things up to see what IS and what comes to the surface.

One of the blessings of dis-ease is that it tends to set the wheels of transformation in motion.

This is all part an parcle of examining the thoughts that create my reality.
