Midday mumbles

by miramaze @ Saturday, 21. Jul, 2007 - 12:50:03

Resistance to cleaning and tidying and laundry arghhhhhhhhhhhh

Conflict

Wanting the place to be tidy and clean in an instant - wave of the magic wand.

Monica is coming over in a couple of hours fromn the other side of town. We don't see each othervery often and whenever I go there I am treated so well I feel obliged to reciprocate.

Truth be told ... I can't be bothered .." I can't be arsed " as some would say *chuckles at words learned in Blogland coming out of ther mouth * :))

I'm going down to get the laundry now
Then I'll tidy for 45 minutes
Then .. that's it !!
If anyone wants more , they can just lump it

*delights in little tantrum *

I hope to have time to sit for a while on balcony in the sun ..can't miss the sun while it's here
Second thought .. can do that with Monica with glass of wine ...aubergine paté would be nice .. *sighs* still to be made .. something else then .,.. but what ?

 hasta la vista !

Aubergine -Walnut Pâté

by miramaze @ Saturday, 21. Jul, 2007 - 12:30:55

I haven't tried this yet , but it sounds scrumptious !

Aubergine -Walnut Pâté

Traditional pâtés are often made from high-fat meats and liver. They can be delicious and quite elegant, but less than nutritious. This vegetarian version is sophisticated and filled with flavour
For a special occasion or as an everyday spread with whole-grain crackers.

Ingredients

1 large aubergine
1½ dl walnut pieces
2 teaspoons fresh ginger , peeled, grated and finely chopped
2 cloves garlic, mashed
1 tablespoon extra-virgin olive oil
pinch ground allspice
Salt and hot pepper sauce to taste

method

1. Preheat oven to 200C. Pierce the aubergine with a fork in several places and bake until very soft, about 45 minutes.

2. While the aubergine is baking, grind the walnuts in a food processor until very fine, and set aside.

3. Remove the aubergine from oven, slash to let steam escape, drain off any liquid, and scrape the pulp into a food processor with the ginger root, garlic and olive oil. Process until smooth.

4. Add the ground walnuts and allspice, and process until smooth.

5. Season to taste with the salt, and hot pepper sauce. Spoon into a small dish and chill for several hours or until firm.

OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOH can't wait to try :)

Have you tried the computer doctor at Tescos yet ?

by miramaze @ Saturday, 21. Jul, 2007 - 00:07:44

One day, in line at the works cafeteria, Jack says to Mike behind him,

"My elbow hurts like hell. I suppose I'd better see a doctor!"

Listen; don't waste your time down at the surgery, Mike replies.

There's a diagnostic computer at Tesco. Just give it a urine sample and the computer will tell you what's wrong, and what to do about it.

It takes ten seconds and only costs five quid....a lot quicker and better than a doctor and you get Clubcard points".

So Jack collects a urine sample in a small jar and takes it to Tesco. He deposits five pounds and the computer lights up and asks for the urine sample. He pours the sample into the slot and waits.

Ten seconds later, the computer ejects a printout:

"You have tennis elbow. Soak your arm in warm water and avoid heavy
activity. It will improve in two weeks".

That evening while thinking how amazing this new technology was, Jack began wondering if the computer could be fooled.

He mixed some tap water, a stool sample from his dog, urine samples from his wife and daughter, and "pleasured himself" into the mixture for good measure. Jack hurried back to Tesco, eager to check what would happen.

He deposits five pounds, pours in his concoction, and awaits the results.

The computer prints the following:

1) Your tap water is too hard. Get a water softener.

2) your dog has ringworm. Bathe him with anti-fungal shampoo.

3) Your daughter has a cocaine habit. Get her into rehab.

4) Your wife is pregnant. Twins. They aren't yours. Get a lawyer.

5) And if you don't stop playing with yourself, your elbow will never get better....

Thank you for shopping at Tesco

:)) night night all XX
