Nondescript sort of day

by miramaze @ Sunday, 02. Sep, 2007 - 23:24:22

It's been a really lazy sort of nondescript day-lacking distinctive or interesting qualities, as it were.Cloudy and cold.

At one point the skies opened and rain bucketed down after which I ventured out to the shop to pick up a few groceries.

*yawn*

Lots to do at home and yet I've done nothing. Zilch
Nothing of what I was supposed to do , that is ;))

Chatted with Valerie in Atlanta for an hour or so. Dozed off on the sofa Did the dishes. Made lunch Ate lunch.

Have tried to catch up on comments and backlog of mail.
Almost up to date now

*yawn*

Think I'll call it a day.:) ;))

It's Labor Day tomorrow in the USA . A long weekend for bloggers there :)

A six-year-old boy told his father he wanted to marry the little girl across the street.

The father, being modern and well-schooled in handling children, hid his smile behind his hand.

"That's a serious step," he said. "Have you thought it out completely?"

"Yes," his young son answered. "We can spend one week in my room and the next in hers.

It's right across the street, so I can run home if I get scared of the dark."

"How about transportation? " the father asked.

"I have my wagon, and we both have our tricycles," the little boy answered.

The boy had an answer to every question the father raised.

Finally, in exasperation, his dad asked, "What about babies? When you're married, you're liable to have babies, you know."

"We've thought about that, too," the little boy replied.

"We're not going to have babies. Every time she lays an egg, I'm going to step on it!"

It was well after midday when I arrived in Paris what with the security alarm and everything... just in time for lunch. Left bags at Lina's work and joined her and friends for lunch . Picked up yummy bagels at trendy bagels shop and found a quiet place in a public garden nearby.

After lunch Lina went back to work and I found my way to St Sulplice.I'd been up since 3:30 a.m. so it was wonderful simply to sit in this lovely church , meditate and light candles for my friends.

Saw this centaur on the way back.
Called in at the Maison du Chololat to buy choccies for my gracious hostess , Lina.
Metro to Avenue Emil Zola
Champagne , courtesy of SAS
Campari soda
Bath !!!
Bubbles .
Then delicious home cooked meal.
More wine.
Then ... walk .. to see the Eiffel Tower all lit up at 10pm .
Forgot camera :( so no pics .
People out picnicking on the grass ,hip hop dancers that seemed to be rehearsing their moves, people strolling around .. lovely atmosphere.

Lina had brought the choccies along so we enjoyed those while admoring the sparkling lights pf the Eiffel Tower.

By this time I was dragging myself along .. was absolutely exhausted , so slept like a log that night.

There's this lovely and most amazing church , St Chapelle on the island near Notre Dame. Looks like this inside and feels amazing. I felt shivers down my spine as I walked around bathing in the beauty of the place, the stained glass windows, the colours, the angels and the paintings .

Monsieur tells me that he's had this shop for 35 years. Times are a changing he says, from plants to bric a brac. It's like fairyland in this shop. " You should come back in a month or so , when we will be preparing for Christmas. There will be angels everywhere ".

I love the Latin Quarter - simply walking around or sitting down to people watch and to soak up the atmosphere.
