by miramaze @ Thursday, 13. Sep, 2007 - 20:32:46

Questionnaire :

http://www.channel4.com/health/microsites/S/sexpert/

Are you a sex expert ?

My result :

Congratulations mira , you've won the 'plain knickers' award with a score of 65%.

Ahemm...well .. I want to know more. I am ashamed to admit that I know too little about this subject and suspect I'm not the only one .

Equine - assisted therapy

by miramaze @ Thursday, 13. Sep, 2007 - 20:19:59

Happened to see the Urika Johnsson " Am I a sex addict" on TV last night.

http://www.channel4.com/health/microsites/U/ulrika_sex_addict/index.html

What I found particularly fascinating was what they referred to as " Equine -assisted therapy "

Have google, will travel ;)

Here's what I found out :

Equine-Assisted Therapy

Equine-Assisted Therapy provides a metaphoric experience with horses to promote emotional growth. This experiential therapy teaches people about themselves, allows recognition of dysfunctional patterns of behavior, and helps define healthy relationships. Horses are typically non-judgmental and have no expectations or motives. Therefore, a patient can practice congruency without the perceived fear of rejection. The horse assists in making patients aware of their emotional state as the horse responds in reaction to their behavior. Through working with the horse, patients can gain insight into their feelings, behaviors, patterns, congruency, boundaries, and stumbling blocks to recovery. The process can be a very effective adjunct to treatment.

The Process:

Equine-Assisted Therapy occurs in a group setting with a maximum of eight participants, facilitated by a certified Equine-Assisted Therapist and a trained professional therapist. The process involves establishing a relationship with a horse on the ground and then evolves into the nurturing of that relationship, which may or may not culminate in actual riding in a contained area. Activities in the process include 'joining up' with the horse, grooming, longeing, or vaulting, and group experiential exercises. Through interaction between the horse and the patient, the trained professionals ask questions based upon what is being revealed through the 'relationship.' Individuals may receive one-on-one focus within the group setting. At the closing of the session, patients are provided time to process the experience with the therapists and integrate the insights into their treatment plan.

A lovely sunset

by miramaze @ Thursday, 13. Sep, 2007 - 19:48:25

A lovely sunset , 19:37

It's been a bright, sunny , cool , crisp, and bracing autumn day. A nip in the air.

Washed and scrubbed the conch shell in the bathroom having noticed that was looking as if it was covered in moss or algae or something else indescribeably suspicious ;)

Started the day with an Orange, strawberry and kiwi smoothie,
lots of fibre in the form of psyllium seeds and crushed flax seeds.I can tell you .. this high fibre treatment shifts things lol

Read today about following your passion :

" lying just below the surface of what appears to be an almost fruitless existence there is fertile soil just waiting to be cultivated - a future greenhouse for something great to grow. All that is needed is "the seed".

And that seed is purpose.

Once a person discovers purpose, they also seem to discover a secret about how the Universe works. Necessary ingredients to nuture and grow their purpose mysteriously start flowing to them, sometimes almost automatically.

Rest assured, however, that a good farmer's hands are always calloused. Nothing that is really good in life comes without effort and sometimes great sacrifices and serious setbacks are required. ( Farmer James , are your hands calloused , mira wonders ? )

When one's intention is clear, and one's purpose solid, however, one ingredient can transform all the others into success. That ingredient is passion.

Passion is a special kind of fuel. It drives you beyond sacrifices, beyond setbacks, and beyond temporary pain. It's a confidence and self-esteem builder. It's a career builder and a success maker. It's the greatest "high" in the world that I call "the ultimate health tonic!" "

WELL !!!

this flows on nicely from my sexuality /life force theme

Now all I need is
A realistic goal,
A worthy objective,
A deserving dream...

my passion will make me do it!

*makes note to herself: " FIND YOUR PASSION AND DESIRE "

People who are passionate about what they want to do will find a way of making that come through / true .

Take a trip to nowhere.

" No packing, no planning, no idea. Just get in the car and start driving off into the sunset together. Stop when you're hungry or thirsty. If there's an interesting sight or town, pause and explore. So much of life seems to be about following the agenda. By following your heart instead, you'll recapture that exciting sense of the unknown you felt when you two first met."

Awwww... Great idea - even if it means doing it on your own ;)

A dream come true

by miramaze @ Thursday, 13. Sep, 2007 - 17:11:50

Two interesting things here :

" A dream come true " book

and

the PSciber dreaming conference 2007

Every night when you fall asleep, you have the opportunity to gain new insights into your life, your work, and your relationships through your dreams. Here, in this friendly, down-to-earth guide to interpreting and even guiding your nighttime reveries, discover:

how emotions are the building blocks of your dreams
the strength to embrace the fears your dreams reveal
training your dream habits to mimic your waking habits
the particular power of lucid dreams
important differences between long and short dreams
appreciating color, music, and visual metaphors in dreams
tapping into your extrasensory perception via dreams
interpreting precognitive dreams
and much more

If you find yourself having dreams about being chased or fighting something, make a conscious decision next time to stop running and stop fighting. Turn around and face whatever “it” is. This sounds hard to do. How can you love some hideous-looking creature that you perceive is trying to hurt you? You must remember that this is merely a physical representation of your fears and anxieties. Do not fear these dreams. They are opportunities to heal yourself, and to rid yourself of harmful habits. Show your monster love.

Paulo Coelho's Witch Project

by miramaze @ Thursday, 13. Sep, 2007 - 00:19:34

The Experimental Witch

"Throughout my career as a writer, I’ve met people that trusted me without knowing me well and they have helped me, enabling me to follow my dreams. I’ve been visiting the pages of readers this last year and I’ve seen excellent works by actresses & actors, musicians, directors, etc.

That’s why I thought: why not make a movie together? I would retain the rights of the film based on my latest book The Witch of Portobello while developing this partnership. From then onwards, I’ve developed the following project, already registered:

1. The book, The Witch of Portobello, is divided into 15 narrators/perspectives. Most of them – 13 – directly interact with Athena, the main character.

2.You may register and choose your character (the registration is limited to 200 filmmakers PER CHARACTER) at the bottom of this page. I would like that each filmmaker chooses a character and film his/her perspective. Since the number of applications is restricted, we will choose the filmmakers on the basis of “first come, first served”. You will receive an email reply confirming your registration and if your character of choice is still available.,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

best picture ever of Lina and me in Paris.

Don't we both look abosolutely fabulous ?
This was the day I arrived- Lina dragged me out for a walk to see the Eiffel tower all lit up.

I'd been up since 3:30 am that day and felt knackered to say the least .. but .. it was worth it. There were people picnicking, dancing or simply hanging out .. lovely atmosphere.
