Neighbours

by miramaze @ Friday, 02. Nov, 2007 - 20:36:05

A lot of goings on in our house all of a sudden.
we are talking to each other brought about by various events such as water being cut off last week and other dramas.

One neighbour Elizabeth , actually struck up a conversation with me last week because she had seen me on Facebook. It's quite strange when you think about it - connecting with one's neighbours through the net. lol

The very same neighbour and I have been exchanging messages and it turns out she and her hubby are interested in my flat. I have 2 bedrooms and they have one and a little person 1½ years old , so they want something bigger but ideally would like to stay here.

I love my flat. It is big for one person ,but then I also have my office at home. If I swapped with them it would mean cheaper rent and also downsizing. With careful planning I could use the living room as an office if I wanted to keep my office at home . My work and lifestyle and very much intergrated and that's the way I like it. I love my work and would do it for nothing, so it doesn't feel like work.

My nextdoor but one neighbour, around 40 , a bit spindly and looks younger, and quite boyish , is causing problems for all. He's not well and from what I understand has a degenerative disease which means that sometimes he's not quite there - coordination is poor, rattles on about things and doesn't hear what is being said to him and also plays loud music at 3 or 4 am which I don't hear but which annoys the others . He also showers constantly - a bit OCD obsessive compulsive. We don't know quite what to do about it. I was told that the police came one night and took him to the local "looney bin" for the night but they would not keep him as he was not suicidal. I don't get the impression that he is dangerous - he is always very civil and polite with me , but also very needy. Still , I have not been woken up at 4 am by his ringing the doorbell and standing there baseball bat in hand kicking himself because the person inside refused to open the door- well would you if you saw someone standing there armed with baseball bat ? :))

Tonight there is the most dreadful stench of sewers in the hall!! :))
"Is it me ?" he asks

No - it's not you , says I
Are you sure ?
No.. it's not you .. it's here in the hall .....
I'll go and shower ,,,,,
NO !!! LISTEN .. LISTEN VERY CAREFULLY .. IT IS NOT YOU .. IT IS HERE .. IN THE HALL .. DO YOU UNDERSTAND ?? ..TELL ME WHAt I'VE JUST TOLD YOU ....

:??:U-(

This is the cause of the stench

Some other neighbours are eating a Swedish delicacy known as SURSTRÖMMING .. fermented Baltic Herring ... to the rest of the word .. ROTTEN FISH !!!:))

I'm burning insense and windows are wide open .. it's the worst smell .. honestly .. like sewers ....

That's all for now  hope your Friday is going well :)

About the meeting

by miramaze @ Friday, 02. Nov, 2007 - 18:12:16

Turns out the couple I met by chance two weeks ago were not swingers :)) two quite ordinary pleasant enough people .The presentation was about one of these get rich quick schemes.. the sort that "change your life and bring in loads of cash and fun for very little effort."

Very American , a bit like Herbal Life and Nikken.similar concept. You buy a start package and then you start selling the idea and products to your friends and others.Apparently it's been around for about 50 years.

2 books were mentioned:

Robert T Kiyosaki 's " Poor Dad Rich Dad "
Household Gold by Dr Steve W Price.

The organisation behind it is called AMWAY started by 2 Dutch guys

I promised to give Hans my honest feedback

I liked the products and the fact that they are ecological and reasonably priced.

I don't like the idea of selling .The concept is too American. The meetings that Hans raved about were gatherings of 7,000 people which I find very Bily Grgaham like and evangelical. Nope .. not my cup of tea. It's not what I want to do with my time. Yes, I like meeting people and helping people, but not in this way. Sorry. Not for me.

I also thought the 1½ spent was far too long
It's too long to be interested in anything.

What I wouldn't mind is buying some products from Hans without any further committment.

I am going to tell him this in my feedback in a couple of days. I said I would.

I'm interested in your comments, friends and bloggers

Just a quickie

by miramaze @ Friday, 02. Nov, 2007 - 13:20:15

Just a quickie before I go out to meet this couple I met a few weeks ago. They want to discuss a business idea. I'm a bit wary but also curious. Nothing ventured , nothing gained. Trust in God and tie up your camel and all that :) :))

The sun is shining brightly through my picture window. Every spec of dust is revealed. You know how candlelight spreads it 's magic and hides all imperfections - well sunlight picks them out and throws them in your face lol the moon is a lot kinder; more compassionate. Sunlight is RUTHLESS :))

I'm going to wear my new sneakers so at least my feet will be happy. When my feet are happy , the rest of me feels good too. *mira Sighs as she remembers the days of high heels and power dressing* now , what you see is what you get  I am revealed for the hippie bohemian life- artist that I am .

By for now .. have a really good Friday and I'll check in with you all in Blogland later. Maybe I 'll have juicy titbits to share ;) Who knows.
 may the Force be with you xx
