  • Happy New Year 2008

DSC00044 HAPPY NEA NEW YEAR 2008 ! We have arrived and 2008 feels good. This is going to be a good year... the best ever  :)) XXXX
  • New Year's Eve, half an hour to go ro 2008

It's unusually quiet at this moment.
Fireworks have been going off all evening " practice runs " for midnight. ;)
It's the lull before the storm ;)

Marcia phoned from London and we had a nice long chat. A good friend married to a Swede , who moved back to London when their marriage ended.

Oh there go the fireworks again :)) spoke to soon :))

I never venture out from the safety and cosiness of my " cave " for New Year's Eve.
Maarja and Lina are coming over tomorrow , said they would bring their hangovers.

I don't think I'll have one .. but that remains to be seen.
Let me know if I start talking nonsense ;)

I'm going into the kitchen now for a snack :)

  • Ah , that's more like it

Back and forth with Black Adder
    *mira chuckles *

" ..well glaze my nipples over and call me winter "

Dinassaurs wiped out by Baldricks filthy underpants....

and bra- vo with big brass bells on !!

    *mira chuckles *

    That's more like it :))

    Cheers everyone

  • Dinner for one

Snoozing after a several helpings of yummy creamy gratinéd potatoes, salad and several glasses of red wine , I woke up to see Jamie Olver finish cooking and while checking channels stumbled upon this New Year's Eve film that is quite a tradition here in Sweden since 1976, I believe. Swedes are funny like that. For many , Christmas Eve is not complete without Walt Disneys Donald Duck cartoons ( Kalle Anka ) and New Year's Eve is official after this cult film. For years they kept telling me it was the funniest thing ever and I was bitterly disappointed when I first saw it 20 years ago. This is the second time for me , and .....no.. still doesn't do it for me :( See what you think. Do you have Swedish sense of humour ?

  • Global prayers for peace

Thank you moonwoman http://wisewomaninwoods.blog.ca/ I know it's past noon GMT , but I don't think time matters much. The world needs our light and prayers at all hours.

Thank you all with love, mira

Join the global prayers for peace. Stop wherever you are at midnight Greenwich Mean Time [GMT] and add your prayer, or say the World Healing Meditation linked below. Our voices will resonate around the world! We are raising global consciousness when we do this simultaneously.

Before peace, there is often chaos until the people have had enough. They will seek out what the rest of us know… peace in our hearts, peace in our homes, peace in our towns and peace in our countries enables all of us to live a life of optimism and love. It is only when we increase our understanding of one another that we can reach for serenity and focus on higher spiritual values.

We all deserve Peace! Make it your 2008 mantra and daily prayer.

    To treat every human being
    as a shrine of God
    is to fulfill all religion.

  • Embracing wholeness

Embrace the positive and negative in wholeness

"Only when we can love hell will we find heaven."

  • Nearly 2008

The countdown begins; only 24 hours left of 2007 .
What a year it has been.

I got off on the wrong foot as I remember , spraining my ankle tripping over a the phone in my bedroom. It didn't 'alf hurt too. :)) The hospital became a familiar place as the year progressed.

Still, it did not deter me from travelling; Antwerp in February. Manchester, Bradford and Silverdale in March and Paris in August.Fnatstic memories.

For 2008, I wish for good health ,satisfying meaningful work, a lover and best friend to turn up at my door ( It has happened before lol ) and continued leisurely, stress free lifestyle. I am so grateful for my home, angels, friends and all my blessings.

Looks like I will be here with me myself and I tomorrow ,tgether with gratinéd potatoes, mixed salad and vino.YUM .I usually get a fantastic fireworks display from my living room window. Fantastic. What will you all be doing ?

A friend called me " Naughty Nun " today , which describes my lifestyle quite well. Solitude , reflection, simplicity with spells of naughtiness and " sinful" indulgence.

This same friene is separating from her partner and soul mate of nearly 10 years.:( t's not that they have fallen out of love , they can't seem to live together. Tragic. Moving apart is preferable to stagnation.

Actually , I don't think it should be termed " separation " in their case - more like " change " r " Transformation" . Seperate homes. That's what I would like too.

I'm so looking forward to meeting Bloggity friends in May; face to face and not only in spirit.

I am also going to learn to know my friend Mac and attend Psychoynthesis Summer School, in Cambridge in August.

Peace , Love and laughter to us all !

  • The wee small hours

I love the wee small hours of the night. There is such peace and stillness while most people are asleep.

The wind is howling outside and I am so grateful for my cosy home.

Something strange is going on in an online community that I belong to where we've been discussing the meaning of life -- HA -- brings out the weirdness in people I suppose. One person there is stirring the pot. I don't really understand what they are saying or why I am participating but it reminds me of family arguments: all of us sitting round the kitchen table ventilating and arguing not really making any sense but staying there through thick and thin as if glued to our seats.

It's also a bit like being glued to the TV or computer .. a trance like state.. part of you knows that you'd be better off in bed asleeep , while another part says .." keep on going .. you never know what might happen next "

I am going to bed now .....peace zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzin all dimensions.

  • Topsy turvy days and nights

This is what happens when I am left to my own devices to follow my natural biological soul rhythms.

It was 4 am when I finally crawled into bed and 1 am when I awoke. It is now 2;30 pm and I'm here in logland commenting on posts with my mind wandering from one topic to another.I've not yet had breakfast. There's only one egg left which means that I will be forced to venture out in the stormy wet and windy night and improvise breakfast with one egg only.

Listening to cat Stevens ... " you can make it all true ... it's easy .. ahha ... you don't need me to say .. there's a million things to be...

Well, if you want to sing out, sing out
And if you want to be free, be free
cause theres a million things to be
    You know that there are

And if you want to live high, live high
And if you want to live low, live low
cause theres a million ways to go
    You know that there are

    Chorus:
You can do what you want
    The opportunitys on
And if you can find a new way
    You can do it today
You can make it all true
And you can make it undo
    You see ah ah ah
    Its easy ah ah ah
    You only need to know

Well if you want to say yes, say yes
And if you want to say no, say no
cause theres a million ways to go
    You know that there are

And if you want to be me, be me
And if you want to be you, be you
cause theres a million things to do
    You know that there are

    Chorus

Well, if you want to sing out, sing out
And if you want to be free, be free
cause theres a million things to be
    You know that there are
    You know that there are
    You know that there are
    You know that there are
    You know that there are

How appropriate ! Thank you Cat Stevens
    Breakfast now ......TTFN

  • Mac has moved in

Mac has moved in :) I even allowed him to share my bed and he was very good, I must say. I'm not going to make a habit of it , but just until he settles in.He's a delight, he really is.

The Prof gave him to me yesterday when I was there for dinner. He's got a new one and said " It's been a while since I gave you a computer , so please accept Mac (lap top ) as a late Christmas present." BLESS his cotton socks. Kisses and hugs. He's installed a new battery and left thousands of tunes in the music library. There's such a lot to learn now. I've not connected him up to the internet yet- there's a gadget that needs installing.. not sure what that is called .. a router , maybe ??

Dinner chez Prof and JOhanna was a delight.
We had an amazingly simple and tasty starter - finely sliced mangetout and shavings of parmesan http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2003/2143782997_b30b34aa6b_m.jpg

Then I got my favourite: Prof's veggie burgers with mango chutney, mushroom and sherry sauce with a touchod mango chutney and creamed potatoes. The potatoes were sooooo smooth too .. no lumps like in mine  all of it extremely yummy and washed down with verdiccio :)

    http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2043/2145061734_7b432a27f7.jpg

Dessert was icecream with homemade chocolate sauce :) Mac and I rolled home after midnight.

I'm still taking it easy ...................... how about you ?

  • New morning

Bob Dylan's " New Morning " arrived today . A Christmas present from middle sister, who is so very good at sending cards and remembering birthdays, She insists on sending presents " Well it's my thing " says she , bless her. even though the rest of us have long since stopped bothering . I've not listened to Bob Dylan for ages. Listening to him now I'm transported back in time to all night parties of the 60's, drinking and listening to music while sitting on the floor , one LP after the other or the same one over and over again. The sound made by the scratches in the record became part of the music experience. Three Angels is the track playing right now - a new one for me :)

Three angels up above the street,
    Each one playing a horn,
Dressed in green robes with wings that stick out,
They've been there since Christmas morn.
The wildest cat from Montana passes by in a flash,
Then a lady in a bright orange dress,
One U-Haul trailer, a truck with no wheels,
The Tenth Avenue bus going west.
The dogs and pigeons fly up and they flutter around,
A man with a badge skips by,
Three fellas crawlin' on their way back to work,
    Nobody stops to ask why.
The bakery truck stops outside of that fence
Where the angels stand high on their poles,
The driver peeks out, trying to find one face
In this concrete world full of souls.
The angels play on their horns all day,
The whole earth in progression seems to pass by.
But does anyone hear the music they play,
    Does anyone even try?

Hope you are all having a marvellous time and laughing a lot.
Unusual amounts of cooking and cleaning have kept me away from you all in Blogland :(

Guests have just left. Mikael had to be up at 4am as he's on stand by and might have to work tomorrow. Rashid stayed and we opened another bottle of wine.

The lilies are filling my home with an intoxicating heady scent. I love it !

    http://photos-a.ak.facebook.com/photos-ak-sf2p/v165/17/108/636767819/n636767819_501580_6565.jpg title="" />

Prof and Johanna coming tomorrow.. must sleep now. New day , new menu.
    Brightest blessings everyone !

  • Creme caramel

When making creme caramel .. why does the caramel part stick to the bottom of the ramekin ? Otherwise they turned out perfectly :) I tried one and it was smooth , perfect consistancy.A delight. What to do about the caramel though ? It's hard and brittle like toffee when it is supposed to be runny.

Went into town , bought lilies and roses in the market
Came home , dumped flowers in water, did grocery shopping and bought two pressies.
Have dusted and cleaned a bit as well.
Wrapped pressies, cleaned silverware and my Indian brass candelabra as well as the angel chimes which I had to take apart to clean and managed to assemble. TRicky it was.

:zz: off to bed now .. peace zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz :zz:

  • Last minute food shopping in the rain

So.. I've breakfasted, commented on blogs, emailed and checked emails, facebooked spoken to Mikael to finalise plans for Christmas Eve, picked up bits and pieces around the flat in effort to tidy up and it 's around 1pm .

Take empty bottles to bottle bank
    Recycle paper

On the way back pop into Willy's to buy sugar, ( used the last to make chocolate truffle cake last night ) milk for creme caramel ( milk I'd bought was sour BEfore the 'best by' date grrrr came out all lumpy ) Potatoes and r ed onions and candles. All heavy stuff to carry.

Then ,, after lunch go into town to buy flowers at Hötorget market. Lilies and roses inread of a Christmas tree. Maybe get hold of some fresh rocket and other lettuce for salad.Trouble with salad is that is does not keep very well . I like it to be crisp and fresh . Not fond of limpness :(

So that's it for no.Merry wheeeeeze ;wave: have a good Saturday

  • Four day of sunshine

Four days of sunshine in a row . blue skies , icy cold and silvery moon by night.
Met my soul sisters last night to rise up above the darkness and celebrate each other and the Solstice .We exchanged gifts, enjoyed good food, drink and laughter while Yule logs burned in the fire. I'll be having a symbolic yule log and red candles in my sealed fire place . It will glow there for 12 days bringing good health and protection for me and my home throughout the coming year

    http://www.fs.fed.us/wildflowers/plant-of-the-week/images/wintersolstice/yulelog-fire_lg.jpg

Time whizzed by. I missed my last train home but caught another one which usually means a long walk but last night, t he goddess provided a bus from the station. Excellent timing.Blessed be.

Today I'm doing laundry and then will pop by Lena's to pick up " the SUN " Tarot card which somehow got left behind. A message for the hostess ? The cards have a life of their own :) Last time the whole deck fell out of my bag as I was leaving.

Tapas later with A-S. and then home to watch a film. Early night. Hope your day is good too .Happy Solstice

  • Midday mumbles

Delighted that this is the third day of sunshine in a row .
A bright and happy Yule Tide with the moon waxing too.
    It's freezing cold outside.
Water on the balcony has frozen.

I'm feeling content. Happy almost as I sit here and mumble for a while escaping for a while the mental " to do " list. I so prefer being.

Something always happens to me at this time of the year.
It's a sort of paralysis- a reaction to the stress and Christmas rush that is going on outside my safe and cosy little world of simply being.
I opt out of doing and do very little but part of me still gets caught up in the insanity of it all. My art of being has a few glitches that need to be ironed out .

I know that always have enoug time if I use it wisely.
My dilemma is basically a problem of priorities.
I do things that I enjoy doing while the things I " should" be doing get left.
There is a conflict there because I do not believe in " should do" .
Setting priorities might be a good idea: in other words making a list of all the things I want to do and then do them in order of priority.

" Don't serve time, make time serve you."

So now I want to run a few errands while it is still bright and sunny outside.

    Have a good day ! :)

  • Shopping

Several hours of traipsing through crowded shops and trying things on, which I hate, I finally found what I wanted. I hardly ever go shopping for clothes so I really don't know what I'm doing.

Anyway , it's 3/4 length black and warm with a hood. The sort of coat you'd wear on a blustery freezing cold day to walk the dog or a walk through the woods. I don't have a dog , so I don't have a habit of being out in all weather. Maybe that will change now :)) tee hee

  • That thingy that's going around , nicked from Notbob

I own some beautiful water colour and oil based crayons. Fantastic , they are ! I'm not fond of wax crayons , they are not bold enough and a bit annoying.

I saw my grandad when he was dead in his coffin. I was 14 and tricked into it, so it was a very scary experience. I would not mind seing a dead body now.

I Wear a seatbelt most of the time but I don't like them.

I Shower in the morning and at night, but prefer a leisurely soak in a hot bath.
    I don't sing.

I don't own diamonds. Used to have cubic zirconian ear rings once , but lost one down the sink.

The last thing I purchased was 3 bottles of Nottage Hill, One craimant de Bourgogne and Bag in Box Italian Red. I'm stocking up for the festive season.

What makes me feel warm and safe is being tucked up in bed.
I remember most of my dreams.
Went to ordinary school. In the USA "public" means state school while U.K , public means private , right ?;)

I will not donate my organs, I wouldn't inflict second hand organs on anyone.

I vent my anger by slamming doors and swearing and crying at the same time. Wish I could do without the crying.

Heritage? Although I was born in England , I don't have any English blood . My parents are Latvian, and one of my grandparebts was Russian,There is some Swedish and Polish in my family tree too.

    Don't wear a watch.

Never went to camp. wouldn't want to. Horrible idea .

On 11 September 2001 I was right here , at my computer. Heard the news on T.V.

I have been to a gay bar , yes.

My ringtone is Mozart's Queen of the Night

I don't drink milk. Yuk ! Disgusting stuff. Only to be used in cooking and for Creme Caramel.

touchy-feely ? I like to touch and to feel .. Yes ! lol what a question. Being touchy feelied too is fun lol

    HERE ARE THE QUESTIONS

    1. Do you own a box of crayons?
    2. Have you ever seen a dead body?
    3. Do you always wear a seatbelt?

    4. When do you shower most often?

    5. What songs do you sing in the shower?

    6. Do you own any diamonds?

    7. What was the last thing you purchased?

    8. What makes you feel warm and safe?

    9. How often do you remember your dreams?

    10. Did you go to public or private school?

    11. Will you donate your organs after you pass?
    12. How do you vent your anger?

    13. What is your heritage?

    14. What kind of watch do you wear?

    15. Did you ever go to camp?
    16. Where were you on September 11, 2001?

    17. Have you ever been to a gay bar?

    18. What is your ringtone?

    19. What kind of milk do you drink?

    20. Are you touchy-feely?

  • Today has flown by

    Wher's it gone ?
Feeling sleepy now , so this will be a short post.
Mum woke me up this morning , all chirpy and happy, She wanted saffron and would I send her some . Yes of course saith I, knowing that this entails card, envelope , stamp and a bit of writing. I rarely write letters these days as they involve so many steps. Usually I end up carrying the letter around in my bag forgetting to post it until it looks all grubby and frazzled. Sometimes I post it , sometimes I don't., but today .. I did ALL the steps and letter is on its way to mum as we speak.

Next letter will be to a certain lovely and talented lady who has knitted me a pair of socks.. a work of art and a labour of love. NOw all I have to do is buy some euros and send them away ! That will be tomorrow or the day after when I go into town.

Here's a bit about Geothermal energy´for moonwoman and anyone else interested :

" Geothermal energy uses the elevated temperatures in the earth’s interior to generate heat and electricity, and this heat is available continuously. It has excellent potential base load properties and is globally one of the most widely used sustainable energy sources, mainly in countries in which surface volcanic action is present. Geothermal energy has huge potential. But very costly deep drilling is needed to achieve even moderate water temperatures in central and northern Europe (except Iceland). As a result, the utilization of geothermal energy has so far been of minor interest in the countries in which Vattenfall has operations. However, the geological conditions in Poland and Germany are much better than in Scandinavia. The procedure for extracting heat consists of establishing a flow of water between at least two boreholes drilled down to a depth of 3-5 km and interconnected by natural or created fissures. Since there are no dependable methods for assessing the nature of the rock at great depths, there is considerable risk of poor results, with low energy output from the boreholes, or none at all. The low water temperatures achieved result in low efficiency of the conversion of heat to electricity which, combined with the high costs and risks, have so far limited the use of geothermal energy in the Vattenfall market area. Nevertheless, Vattenfall is actively following developments, and operates a geothermal CHP (Combined Heat and Power) plant in Neustadt-Glewe in Germany, which generates 210 kW of electricity and 6500 kW of heat. The second geothermal power plant with an electric power output of 750 kW is under construction in Gross Schönebeck, north of Berlin....."

  • Inspired by ajnspencer

So, later that day , inspired by ajnspencer of Blogland , I set up a flickr account for my piccies :) It took a while and I'm still feeling the lay of the land there. " miramaze07" is my name there. I uploaded the photos I took today from my trip to Täby - a town on the other side of town involving two tube rides and one ride on the little train known as Roslagsbanan :)

It was a beautifully sunny day, I had my camera with me , but forgot about it until I was on my way home and I caught a glipse of the moon near the station. Of couse I had to try and capture the góddess, though she is very elusive to my little camera. http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2252/2118216103_5aeaa9c511_m.jpg

See that little speck in the sky ? ;)

    http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2072/2118216111_ddf0a06104_m.jpg

I just missed a train and had to wait 15 minutes for the next one.It was freezing cold and I was bored so I took a few pics .

    http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2352/2118216113_3c14aef861_m.jpg

    It was only 15:20

This one came out brighter .. maybe it was where the sun had just set .

    http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2131/2118216121_0949ae7064_m.jpg

Anyway, half an hour later I was at Tekniska Högskola Station where I spotted this work of art . There is a lot of art on display in the tube stations.
    http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2209/2119014234_306ba94735_m.jpg

Once home , I started to play around with some Christmas tree lights that I found to illuminate my non- usuable fireplace. What d'ya reckon ? Red baubles , glass snowballs and shiny things ?

to see my photos on flickr clicky here http://www.flickr.com/people/miramaze07/

    ;)

Aj .. why have all the pics I posted here disappeared ? :(

  • All's well in Miraland

Well I tried. I got all dressed up ,glad rags on, makeup , figure out times of trains and consulted map for directions. I even got as far as the tube station and then changed my mind. Not going to feel guilty either.

Can't be bothered going when I don't feel like being sociable. Granted , I might've changed my mind once there ,, might not get invited ever again .... I would probably have got lost on the way there anyway.

Instead , plonked my feet in the hot and fragrant foot spa and turned it on to vibrate while watching Richard Gere in ballroom dancing film.:)

Later , decapitated the big salmon I bought yesterday and made stock from the head. Grilled a piece and ate with stirfried brocolli and garlic and sprinkled with soya and sesame. Reserved the middle bit of the salmon to make "gravad lax " that 's salmon marinated with dill and chives. It will later be frozen for 3 days at least to get rid of any extra critters ;)

Got out some Christmas lights and toyed with the idea of brightening up my open fireplace that is sealed and can't be used.

My friend Darryl in New Zealand sent pics of his two adopted cats.

  • Venturing out

I'm about to venture out in to the darkness to go to the glögg party ... RESISTANCE big time. I don't feel like being jolly and it's right on the other side of town and I've only been there once before so I might even get lost .... oh dear ... :))

  • Glögg

    http://www.coop.se/upload/opskrifter/174820.jpg

There are so many recipes for glögg.
Here in Sweden you can but it ready made and then you can lace it with a bit of extra vodka or brandy etc

Ingredients for 1 litre of glögg

1 bottle of red wine (75 cl )
    1 cinammon stick
    1 piece of ginger
    1 bit of pomerans
    5 cloves
    2 tsp whole cardemon
    400 g sugar lumps
    3 dl water
    1/2 flaska (35 cl) vodka

Heat the spices and sugar together carefully to melt the sugar.
    Leave to infuse.

Add to wine and heat slowly and carefuly in a covered pan for 30 minutes.

Serve in small mugs with raising sand blanched almonds.

  • Saturday evening at home

Met Maarja on my way to Socrates café and enjoyed a couple of hours philosophising.

Did food shoopping on my way home.
Showed living room and hall to the vaccum cleaner.
Made dinner.. home made pizza again with prawns mushrooms red onion tomato and mozzarella. Relaxing now with glass of red before planning menus for 24th and 25th December. Some things can be prepared in advance like the base for Creme Ninon and desserts.Chocolate truffle cake tastes better a day or two later.

Glögg party tomorrow at the other side of town. I don't like glögg very much - it's drunk in little mugs with blanched almonds and raisins; hot, spicy and very sweet can be very strong laced with spirit. Pepparkakor , also Christmas spicy .. all sugar sugar and more sugar. Maybe they will have wine .. I do hope so.

I said I would go three weeks ago , so I will have to put in an appearance. Heck I may even like it lol The guy hosting the party and studied together and is very nice and so are his friends.

Food and wine .. music and a few guests .
    Love and relaxed harmony abound

Meanwhile , tatties and veggies roasting in the oven .. nearly done .. Oh life is good :)

    See ya be good :)

  • Hardly surprising after eating all that cheese ....

I rather suspected that eating all that cheese would affect my sleep and noctural visit to Dreamland Cinema ;)

First part of my dream last night was about The Prof as a young child , about 6 and somehow I was doing things all wrong. There was no pleasing him. It was a struggle of a dream. I reckon that must have been me digesting the cheese. It as probably my inner child .

Anyway .. after a pee middle of the night.. I returned to dream Part 2. and was transported back in time to the 40s or could be earlier .. 30s even and felt just like watching a film . It felt like a previous life in which i lived a life very much like Fanny Hill !! Hang on .. I'll add a link

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fanny_Hill

It would not surprise me at all lol In fact very much like the illustrations in this link though slightly more modern clothes.

The scene is a hotel , a rather posh elegant hotel. There are two lifts , one for the service people and one for the guests. I am connected to the hotel in some way. I think I either live there or work there. My mother has died, I'm around 18 I think and am being introcuded to " service " in this hotel. I feel smart , but also a bit naiive. I notice how the well dressed guests and staff at the hotel behave and am aware of devious goings on , but either I am not willing to or not able to quite connect the dots. There are two men is suits descending the stairs and exhanging lighthearted banter - " Will it be massage then or .. " " No massage tonight " laughter ...

I am given money , two notes , I keep the 50 and give the rest to reception. A man picks me up in a car , we drive off , the car stops and we get out. I pick up a small case and he takes the other two out of the boot. I think he is expecting me to carry the other two as well and I say " Now way .. don't even think about it ! "

Then I find myself in a bedroom. I take a pointsetta plant out of my bag and put it in the window sill . There is big bed and the bedclothes and silk and satin and most luxurious. An old woman and man come in . The old woman leaves her old man in the bed with me ...gulp .. I think as he starts to grab me fearing the worst. Then in a stroke of genius I produce a box if Belgian chocolates out of nowhere and stick one in his mouth :)) He then finishes off the rest , both tiers and disappears.

I the next scene, I am wearing something very silky and flimsy, no underwear standing with one foot on the floor and the other on the bed and the man in the bed is putting his hand up ...... and then I wake up :))

It was SO real .. felt like a past life. I must have been a very naughty lady lol

  • Medium ,chevre , kiwi and warm tumble dried sheets

I've eaten a big piece of perfectly ripe and tasty chevre cheese while watching " Medium " mmmmm oooooo ahhhh so orgasmic it was and followed that with two very ripe kiwis, rich in vit C

Now all I have to do is get the freshly laundered fitted sheet out of the tumble drier , make my bed and lie in it :)

Night night , blogland .. sweet dreams !

  • Soul Care and Psychosynthesis

I am not a mechanism, an assembly of various sections
And it is not because the mechanism is working wrongly that I am ill I am ill because of wounds to the soul, to the deep emotional self.

    DH Lawrence

    http://www.psychosynthesis.net/Psychosynthesis.html

This is an excellent introduction to Psychosynthesis Therapy, which takes a holisic approach to healing the " human " part of a human being.

Read the whole article here :

    http://www.psychosynthesis.net/Psychosynthesis.html

Most modern definitions of psychotherapy describe it as remedial treatment of mental or personality disorder. In contrast Thomas Moore in his book, 'Care of the Soul' suggests that the soul needs a different language and attitude from that of the medical model favoured by traditional forms of psychotherapy. If we are not to use the medical model of health and sickness, what model shall we use?

An alternative version of the etymological origins of psychotherapy is that of the 'Therapae' were the Greek maidens who served in the temples of Asclepius to prepare those who came to receive a sacred dream that would be a healing response to their suffering. If we were to take assisting clients to have a sacred dream as a guiding metaphor for the practice of psychotherapy, we would be clearly offering something different than 'remedial treatment'.

Most psychotherapists would agree with a basic aim of relief of suffering but the framework within which this suffering is perceived can differ widely. Within a medical model, the patient is asked, “What is wrong with you”. The opening quote from D.H.. Lawrence is a clear challenge to this view of the human psyche. An different question is provided in the Grail myth, when Perceval is instructed to ask of the wounded king, “What ails thee?” In modern English we might ask, “What troubles you?. What troubles us in our modern world may be more of a reflection on the times we live through, than our dysfunctional family. A general answer might be that we have become disconnected from our true Self and the role of the psychotherapist is not to dampen down that 'ailment' but to place it within a different context that brings meaning to the suffering.

In this short paper on the Psychosynthesis approach to psychotherapy, we will clarify the nature of a Psychosynthesis model by positioning it in relation to other psychotherapeutic approaches. We will examine how Psychosynthesis responds to significant psychological questions and explore its views of change. If the dialectic between Freud and Jung can be characterised as that of a tension between ego and soul, then Assagioli's vision was to bring into psychotherapy a third element, that of the spirit. In a complete picture of the human psyche, all three are needed and the distinctions between soul and spirit are as important as those between ego and soul. Spirit without soul has no containing vessel and soul without spirit loses direction and becomes self-absorbed.

  • In my own write

Stream of consciousness writing at 1pm .
Golden sunshining attempting to shine through filthy windows
Harmful rays being filtered out
    All is well.
I COULD clean them , is suppose , but they will only get dirty again :))

    HUGS are the "in" thing.
ICA supermarket are giving hugs to customers , 2o kronor , 50 kr and 100 kr hugs .. small medium and large .. and proceeds given to Save the children , I think.

Hugs are nice when you feel like one , from people you like , but I would not go up tp a stranger and ask for a hug. THat idea is foreign to me.

Hugging people is fun though .. as I said .. in good will .. when the mood strikes ... it has to be authentic .. genuine.

I think this hugging thing is about spreading happiness and joy.
I know some people who are VERY huggy and tactile
Irene can stayin a hug for a long time.
I love Ian's hugs and Darryl's hugs and The Prof's hugs and my soul sister's hugs, Maarja's a good hugger and so is Penny.
My mum does not know how to hug, bless her.
Mum kisses .. it's a *mwaaah* sort of kiss plonked firmly on the lips like a stamp hehehehe awwwwww
    Each to their own.
    Group hugs are suffocating.
I find it hard to breathe in group hugs :(
No group hugs for me .. remember that when we meet , right ? lol

My morning meditations are getting really strong.
I know meditation is not supposed to BE in a certain way , but two days in a row now I've found myself in that place of BLISS and timelessness. Of course as soon as I become aware of it , it means that I'm, not there any more.

Received a note from gorgeous doctor Sasa to say that blood tests were fine. I don't need any extra vitamins or iron :). Nice . :)

    What else ?

Writing this I feel happy and giggly and grumpiness and Scrooginess disappears. I am still NOT in the festive spirit. Something about stress and fuss and over enthusiasm that makes me want to PUKE lol.I love giving and gifts WHEN I FEEL LIKE IT .. not when someone else decides it's time.

I'm definitely an individualist , unique, BUT also part of the WHOLE.
Are you still there reader ?

    lol

Tata for now .. love on ya xxxx's

( will read what I have written now .. oh heck )

Good idea or not. My computer is about 7 years old , has served me well but recently has been retuning " proggram is not responding " messages and I've been experiecing difficulties customising pages on Blogger :(

  • Once a month

Once a month I get " shrunk " in other words I have a session with my shrink :) I can warmly recommend this practice to everyone who isn't Roman Catholic - they get a similar service when then go to confession says Mira , tongue in cheek.;)

What did I take with me today ?

My friend the one criticised and attacked me on I.M. yesterday is a good teacher . She is perceptive, intuitive and knowledgeable .She is intouch with her feelings , far more than I am and I can learn from her. She is however blind to her own weaknesses and lacking in self-awareness despite her many years of training.

She has been dumping her shit on me and I have been letting her do that, listening quietly and politely .H. advises me to be more in touch with my feelings and needs and to set boundaries. I can try asking " What do you want from me ? "

I have to get to know what my needs are and also practice
setting boundaries sooner than later, which means I need to be more in touch with my feelings. :yes:I can continue to experiment and dare to be " inappropriate " :))

    Sounds exciting, doesn't it ?

  • Only post of the day

Sunday is nearly over and I haven't posted yet. Can't have that, so I am going to correct it now.

I had two long conversations with friends.

The first was a conversation with a friend who had been to visit her mother in a nursing home. It seemed to have been a very heartfelt visit. We spoke about the care she received , the staff there , dramas with the relatives and her trip to the U.K.´for Christmas to visit her son and daughter- in- law and their baby. All very pleasant and relaxed.A lovely conversation.

The second was a two hour long coversation on IM which de-railed half way through. Talk about treading on toes and hitting nerves. It was like walking through a minefield !! Suddenly I felt shaken up ; criticised accused and judged.

Ah well .. it always takes two so I'm not without blame. Still not nice when it happens. This person in very articulate and types fast. Everything is fine so long as I listen and make polite comments but as soon as I step out of that pleasant role things start to happen. I don't know how it happens. It is not something I do consciously or intentionally but it has happened before with this person.

In other news , I made a start on the kitchen. Lots more to do till Christmas Eve - cleaning and tidying that is.

War is over ( If you want it  )

What is wrong with war, is as Gandhi said.

"An eye for an eye will make us all blind".

I'd like to see the human race wake up to the danger and futility of war as soon as possible.

At the time, in the 60s, we thought we could change the world just like that! But it's taking a little bit more time!

Imagine all the people living life in peace.

I think that that's a very strong thing to do.
It might be a very controversial thing to do.
Because it's a very powerful thing to do.
But I think it's all right to say that.
I don't think that goes against the policy of this country or anything like that.
I think, in the end, all people in this country really want peace.
But how to get there, some people are thinking in a different way of course.
But imagining, that's something that we can all do, even when we have different opinions about how to get there.
    Imagining peace, imagining peace.
    That's okay.
That we can all do without feeling the conflict.

War is over if you want it
    War is over NOW

    Yoko Ono Lennon

The Imagine Peace Tower (Icelandic: Friðarsúlan, meaning "the peace column") is a memorial to John Lennon from his widow, Yoko Ono, located on Videy Island, off the coast of Reykjavík, Iceland. It consists of a tall "tower of light", projected from a white stone well which has the words "Imagine Peace" carved into it in 24 languages. These words, and the name of the tower, are a reference to Lennon's peace anthem, Imagine.

    http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/thumb/a/ac/Imagine_Peace_Tower.jpg/270px-Imagine_Peace_Tower.jpg

Buried underneath the light tower are upward of 500,000 written wishes that Ono gathered over the years in another project, called "The Wishing Tree". Ono plans to have the tower lit every year from 9 October, Lennon's birthday, through 8 December, the date he was shot. Iceland was selected for the project because of its beauty and its eco-friendly use of geothermal energy.[1]

The idea started in 1965 when Ono thought of the tower and presented the idea to Lennon, who expressed interest in creating it.[1] Construction of the tower started on 9 October, 2006 when Ono dedicated the location, and it was officially unveiled on the same date in 2007. In attendance with Ono were son Sean Lennon, bandmate Ringo Starr, and Olivia Harrison, widow of George Harrison, and Olivia's son Dhani Harrison. Paul McCartney was invited, but did not attend. Yoko Ono said on the day of the inauguration that the tower was the best thing that she and John had ever done.

The ceremony was broadcast internationally to numerous television networks.

  • Sound of music revisited

Slept for 12 hours last night
Easily done when it's dark and quiet outside.
The nursery below me is not open at the weekends but today
" The Sound of Music " is on T.V. and am compelled to watch and cringe in disgust at the sugary sweet crap.

I was forced to see this film with my family as a rebellious teenager . It was one of those compulsive family outings. " YEs ,, we are ALL going , like it or not we ARE going and we ARE going to enjoy it "

    I how I detest musicals !! :(

All the same , I'm seeing it now through the eyes of an adult now and can see things I didn't see as a teenager, but I must admit the teenager was right and is still alive rebellious and kicking inside of me.

I prefer the Monty Python sketch - " the hills are alive BOOOOOOM " :))

    Lemon juice
    Nuts
    1 bottle of whisky

Sample the whisky to check for quality. ¨
    Take a large bowl.

Turn on the electric mixer, beat one cup of butter in a large fluffy bowl.

Add one teaspoon of sugar and beat again. Make sure the whisky is still OK.

Cry another tup. Tune up the mixer. Beat two leggs and add to the bowl and chuck in the cup of dried fruit.

Mix on the turner. If the fired druit gets stuck in the beaterers, pry it goose with a drewscriver.

Sample the whisky to check for tonsisticity. Next, sift two cups of salt. Or something. Who cares?

Check the whisky. Now sift the lemon juice and strain your nuts. Add one table. Spoon the sugar or something. Whatever you can find. Grease the oven. Turn the cake tin to 350 degrees. Don't forget
    to beat off the turner.

Throw the bowl out of the window.

Check the whisky again and go to bed.

  • A big bag of crisps

Braved the rain and darkness to do grocery shopping and have returned with a big bag no open and being consumed .. with out remorse or guilt .. sheer enjoyment..gratification , divine decadence

Have been in a strange unknown, ufamiliar place all day and dared to stay there. Irritated , itchy , grumpy , reflective.

Experiencing self- doubt ..stuckness.. pebble in shoe..... grain of sand in oyster .....

Is something missing? What is missing ?¨

Can't put my finger on it.

This is not a comfortable place but one that I know I will move through
This is a real pea -souper or a fog , thick and dense.
I am grateful that I have everything I need at this time.
    All my needs are met.
Let the exploration continue with the brightest of blessings and now the CRISPS .. yum :))

Hope you are enjoying yoru Friday , everyone

  • Nothing but perfection ?

“We have the need to be accepted and to be loved
by others, but we cannot accept and love
ourselves. The more self-love we have, the less we will
    experience self-abuse. Self-abuse comes from
self-rejection, and self-rejection comes from having
an image of what it means to be perfect and never
measuring up to that ideal. Our image of
perfection is the reason we reject ourselves the way we
are, and why we don't accept others the way they
    are.”

    -- Don Miguel Ruiz

“The maxim ‘Nothing but perfection’ may be
    spelled ‘Paralysis.’”

    -- Winston Churchill

“After enough mirror gazing, we all develop our
‘cosmic sense of humour.’ We no longer try to be
perfect, or try to get all our work done in time.
We become content with whatever life brings. Just
to deal with what comes up without crucifying
ourselves or others is enough of a challenge.”

    -- Paul Ferrini

  • Breakfast meeting with Kay Pollok

I did the absolute unthinkable today ; got up at 6:30 to go to a breakfast meeting with Kay Pollak at Folkets Hus , Sundbyberg, 7:45 - 09:15. Anyone who knows me knows just how unusual that is for me and that it requires an enormous amount of strength, will power and motivation. Kay Pollak was the motivation .

Kay Pollak (born 21 May 1938) is a Swedish film director. After a long break from film-making, he returned in 2004 with a brilliant film As It Is in Heaven (Så som i himmelen), a major box office success in Sweden. The film was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Foreign Language Film. It was also nominated for no less than eight Swedish Guldbagge Awards, including Best Direction and Best Film, but received none, which is an abolute disgrace , in my opinion. So inspired was I after seeing it 4 September 2004 that I actually DARED to write a review for it. Not a professional review , but one expressing my feelings and emotions at the time as I was bubbling over.

Some notes from this morning :

" Happiness is a choice " says Kay Pollak . If you think that life is a struggle , then it will be. Look to your beliefs and thoughts.

    4 characteristics of successful people:

Successful people know both their strengths and weaknesses

Successful people choose to move from victim to self- empowerment

Successful people are good listeners and can be totally present in a meeting.

Successful people all have someone they can trust and confide in , someone who will hold , support and encourage them through thick and thin : a personal assistant.

Happiness is a choice see www.option.org

I am totally responsible for my choices and actions .

Kay's VISION for the film As in Heaven

    1. Have a clear goal

    2. Have an image for your goal ( e.g. An Oscar nomination )

    3. Noble / Good purpose

" Every human being is worthy , meaningsful and unique "
To have FUN and create a product of HIGH QUALITY

I learned that the first three days of making the film " As in Heaven " took place in " Folkets Hus " here in Sundbyberg and that Kay also lives in Sundbyberg.Kay is a very charismatic , energetic ,funny human being and a very motivational and inspirational speaker. I'm glad I made the effort.

  • Early night and pizza

It's been a sleepy dopey sort of day.I received a phone call early morning to say that the breakfast meeting lecture , 07:45 tomorrow , with Kay Pollak was fully booked. Ah well, at least I don't have to get up early- Thanks all the same.

Ten minutes later same person phones again to tell me there has been a cancellation. Obviously the gods want me up and about.

I've now poished off half a home made pizza ( DELISH ) while watching a yet another new TV series set in a hospital. As soon as it finishes I'm off to bed.

    Enjoy your evening everyone

  • Leonardo says , go away .

    http://www.facade.com/celebrity/photo/Leonardo_da_Vinci.jpg

“Every now and then go away, have a little relaxation, for when you come back to your work your judgement will be surer. Go some distance away because then the work appears smaller and more of it can be taken in, at a glance and a lack of harmony and proportion is more readily seen.”
    -- Leonardo Da Vinci

  • Carry on doctor

" Is there anything else ? " asks the tall dark drop dead gorgeous doc called Sasa, exotic surname, sparkling eyes , capable hands and charismatic presence while looking deeply into her eyes as she feels a hot flush coming on.

At this point he's already listened attentively, renewed prescriptions, listened to lungs and heart and had said " everything seems to be fine " and then in a moment of total insanity she blurts out " Well there is the blood pressure.... "

" Ah right, best check that " says he. " hmm a little high .. but still within the limits "

" Oh but's that most probably because of your being such a good doctor " says she not knowing why she has to be so candid just then , hurries the goodbyes and stumbles out into the waiting room with a face red as a beetroot and grin from ear to ear :))

  • Another Abe quote

    Abraham:

"Imagine that your Source Energy, your Inner Being, your God
Force, your God Self, your Soul -- whatever you want to call that Non-
physical part of you -- is projecting to you at all times a strong,
clear, beautiful musical note, and you can hear it in the background
    all the time.

When you give your attention to something, whether you are looking
right at it, whether you're remembering it, whether you're imagining
it, whether you're Scripting it -- whatever you are giving your
attention to causes you also to offer a note.

So if you are basking or finding value in something -- appreciating
something -- in that case, the note that you are offering is in such
vibrational harmony with your Inner Note that you can feel the
    resonance between the two notes.

That's what joy is. That's what appreciation is. That's what love is.

It's your resonating with who you really are.

But let's say, instead, that you are finding fault -- seeing lack,
seeing something you don't want, trying to hold it away, pushing
against something. In that case, your note would be so out of harmony
with your Inner Note, you would feel the discord of that.

    That's what negative emotion is.

When you start feeling how your thoughts feel, then you start
recognizing when you are allowing and when you're resisting. But as
long as you are just thinking thoughts, those old habitual thoughts
feel normal even though they're full of resistance."

  • Dreaming while in hibernation

We've had several days of darkness in a row .
Grey, dull and dim and damp.
    Colourless :(
    Candles music and painting help.
Ideally, we'd be gathered around fires telling eachother stories, eating, drinking and sleeping until brighter days, blue skies and sunshine.

    A dream last night:
I've placed a long distance call for 12:00 p.m. and for some reason call the operator just to check that it has been placed. One person has got my name wrong and yet another has " call to New York " booked when it should be " call to South Africa ".The third time I get to speak to someone who is really bossy.

    Another dream :

I'm at my therapist's. We are both aware of threatening suspciouscharacters outside. I think he goes outside to check. Next thing I know I'm facing a man pointing a small golden gun at my face. For some reason I am no longer afraid and look him straight in the eye after which he calmly hands the gun over to me and we go for a walk together.

I think this is the first time that I have confronted and won a threat. Maybe I am making progress despite the gloom :))

  • Just loving leftovers.

What's better than Saturday evening with a good friend eating good food and wine and inspiring conversation ? Sunday, pottering around all day munching on lovely left-overs that require no cooking or preparation when peckishness strikes.

    :)

  • Happy December Saturday,

Good Saturday afternoon everyone ! Happy December.:)

I've been up since 10 am. It's dark grey and gloomy outside and it will soon be dark for real. There is not much difference between day and night here during the winter. Nevermind - only 21 days to go before it all turns and things start to look brighter again.

Spoke to the Prof this morning. He might be joining me 28th February when I fly to the U.K. for Mum's birthday , 2nd March. :) I won't be going over for Christmas- too much fuss and besides , fares are double too.:(

Hard to believe that 3 hours have whizzed by, reading and commenting on blogs and pottering around. I have to clean and tidy my home before Anna-Stina arrives. There's grocery shopping to be done and wine to be bought before the Systembolaget closes for the weekend.I'd better get a move on I suppose.

MenoMama will be on her way back to Canada soon. Bon Voyage Meno !! Not much news yet from the Liverpool meet , which is a good sign. Posts will come as hangovers clear, I expect. :))

Right.. TTFN .... might check in later ;wave:
