Thanks for this post. I read yours and also posted it on my blog.
Here's why we have to choose one moment in time, or one day. It order to effect change, we have to have a lot of people's intention focussed at the same time on the change we want. Then a lot of collective "energy" goes into creating that change.
If you want to read the science behind this, the best bet is to read Roger Nelson's EGG project out of Princeton university. Roger has been doing the research on Global Consciousness and coming up with some amazing disciveries.

I'm all for practice too Mira, now if I could only find the other half other than my own hand. 
What a wonderful notion; sadly, I missed it too. Was busy being buried in a funk of my own doing; which was nowhere near the idea of this proposed event. However, have since climbed out of my self-imposed exile from blogsphere and begun to read my heaped mailbox with a ravenous appetite to find out what I've missed.
Have visited the 'orgasm'website, thanks for the link. Seems like you've found another of us, but this one 'coming' from another angle of awareness. And yes, the pun is intended. Hehehe
Must check out MOONWOMAN's reference to the EGG project. Have an inkling I've already known about it but had allowed it to lapse to the bottom of my rusted brain.
