    Time to wash up now.
In go the dirty dishes in the little dishwasher above the sink.
I shall wake up to clean kitchen .. now there's a thought.

  • Wise Sayings of a Jewish Buddhist

    Be here now.
    Be someplace else later.
    Is that so complicated?

    Drink tea and nourish life;
    with the first sip, joy;
    with the second sip, satisfaction;
    with the third sip, peace;
    with the fourth, a Danish.

Wherever you go, there you are.
    Your luggage is another story.

    Accept misfortune as a blessing.
Do not wish for perfect health, or a life without problems.
    What would you talk about?

The journey of a thousand miles begins with a single Oy.

    There is no escaping karma.
    In a previous life,
    you never called,
    you never wrote,
    you never visited.
    And whose fault was that?

    Zen is not easy.
It takes effort to attain nothingness.
And then what do you have?
    Bupkes.

    The Tao does not speak.
    The Tao does not blame.
The Tao does not take sides.
    The Tao has no expectations.
The Tao demands nothing of others.
    The Tao is not Jewish.

    Breathe in.
    Breathe out.
    Breathe in.
    Breathe out.
    Forget this and attaining Enlightenment
will be the least of your problems.

Let your mind be as a floating cloud.
Let your stillness be as a wooded glen.
    And sit up straight.
You'll never meet the Buddha with such rounded shoulders.

Deep inside you are ten thousand flowers.
Each flower blossoms ten thousand times.
Each blossom has ten thousand petals.
You might want to see a specialist.

    Be aware of your body.
    Be aware of your perceptions.
Keep in mind that not every physical sensation
is a symptom of a terminal illness.

    The Torah says,
    Love your neighbor as yourself.
    The Buddha says,
    There is no self.
So, maybe we're off the hook.

From my Jewish friend Barb across the Big Pond.

    Greetings from the Goddess.
I looked up from my apathetic mood and there she was , right in the middle of my picture window  blessed be !

I bowed three times and made a wish.

I'm not telling .. it's between me and her

  • Music affects the mood

When the Prof handed over his Apple Mac notebook this Christmas t came with about 2000 tunes in the I- tunes library. It's all music that I would not choose myself and a variety of genres from R& B, pop , rock, hip hop , techno, rap and few Swedish artists that I've only know as names.

Right now I have the " Party selection " on as background music and while some of it is mildly irritating , I notice that it is unplugging my mood for the better.

I feel I am surfacing out of stagnation and into ..... ?

    ;)

  • Reading matters

    Reading matters.
Books , I mean , not just reading words off the screen. I do too much of that.
From now on I will read more books
    A healthy diet of :

    classics
    romance novels
    filth and smut
    comedy
    work related stuff
    poetry

I going to get out my collected works of D.H. Lawrence and start there as far as classics go. Sons and Lovers maybe .. or The Fox ? Any suggestions for romance novels and filth and smut ? Work related psychp - spiritual stuff I have a plenty and poetry will most likely be Hafiz, Rumi and Kahlil Gibran

  • Winter darkness is getting me down

Winter darkness is getting me down .As I write these words the golden setting sun is grinning all over its face with the first and last appearance for the day.

This came in the mail - it's all about ATTITUDE apparently

There once was a woman who woke up one morning,
looked in the mirror, and noticed she had only three hairs on her head.
Well," she said, "I think I'll braid my hair today?"
So she did and she had a wonderful day.

The next day she woke up,
looked in the mirror and saw that she had only two hairs on her head.
    "H-M-M," she said,
"I think I'll part my hair down the middle today?"
So she did and she had a grand day.

The next day she woke up,
looked in the mirror and noticed that she had only one hair on her head.
    "Well," she said,
"today I'm going to wear my hair in a pony tail."
So she did and she had a fun, fun day.

The next day she woke up,
looked in the mirror and noticed that there wasn't a single hair on her head.
    "YEA!" she exclaimed,
"I don't have to fix my hair today!"

    Attitude is everything.

    Be kinder than necessary,
for everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle.

    Live simply,

    Love generously,

    Care deeply,

    Speak kindly.......

Life isn't about waiting for the storm to pass.

It's about learning to dance in the rain.

    :))

    Ahem ,,,,,,
