Clearing clutter #1

by miramaze @ Monday, 21. Jan, 2008 - 16:47:33

That's one file from 1993 shredded. I think we are only required to keep accounts for 10 years or is it 6 ?

I have such a lot of stuff - old papers etc that need chucking. Out with the old

I wonder if I can clear a file a day .. that would be 365 in a year and I haven't got that many files. One bag of stuff a day . Make it a meditation. Make it a habit , like brushing teeth. A act of will. Can I do it ?

How to eat an elephant ... bit by bit .

About stuff

by miramaze @ Monday, 21. Jan, 2008 - 13:40:18

Stuff - there's so much of it. I'm not as rich as some , but still, I have so much stuff and it's overwhelming. Taking care of stuff is an enormous responsibility. I'm always clearing clutter in search of simplicity. Getting rid of stuff is not as easy as it seems , not if you do it properly.

A friend sent me this- it's the first one in a series and provocative in a good way, I think

The Story of Stuff http://www.storyofstuff.com will take you on a provocative tour of our consumer-driven culture — from resource extraction to iPod incineration — exposing the real costs of our use-it and lose-it approach to stuff.

The movie is just the beginning of the story. Watch it, learn more and get involved here: www.StoryofStuff.com (less)
