A lovely sunny day. I heard the pigeons coo a little before one flew off. The other is sitting on the eggs . How much longer ? What if they are never going to hatch ? It's been more than 18 days since I discovered them .

Googled just now to try and find out more.
Seems that pigeons are treated like pests.

" get rid of the eggs " is the advice
" they keep coming back"
" they are dirty and carry mites that cause skin disease "

I don't like what I am reading.

Dilema .
What to do ?
I do need to clean the balcony .
As much as I like Mr and Mrs Pidge , can they stay there forever ?

Might make a start on cleaning the balcony and leave them their little corner.

Just be carefull, make sure you are wearing marigolds or something, you can catch a lot off the pigeon poo! n when they eventualy leave u can tie ribbons or something to detter them from nesting ther again. Here they use plastic bags n stuff but i don't think they would be right for u'r balcony. x

  I was overjoyed when they chose my balcony. Thought it was sweet and I do like pigeons. They've actually hatched now !! I am officially a fairy godmother
  
  When you said " marigolds " I thought .. oh good ... I've planted some in the pot just above their nest ... but you mean the rubber kind YES .. rubber gloves when I do the cleaning .. most definitely .
  
  I've seen people here hang CD's to deter them. I already have crystals hanging from the balcony , but they don't seem to mind those.

Should only take 2 or 3 weeks to hatch.

If the eggs are live then usually you can hear the chicks chirping and tapping inside.

They do carry a lot of disease though so the marigolds woudl be a good safety precaution.

I think pigeons are ok just use common sense -they have a rigth to be here same as us -if anything over populates it's us stupid peeps!

  Oh starlings ..I remember the starlings around Bradford Town Hall around 5:30 pm when they were settling down for the night. What a racket , bless them
