One of the advantages of being single is sharing my big bed with books. Inspiration at every turn should insomnia strike; it seldom does. I sleep surrounded by books and my journal so that I can catch a thought or dream by its tail and write it down as soon as it happens.
On waking this morning " The Power of Now " by Eckhart Tolle opened up as I picked it up and I read :
"Picking up "The Power of Now" again , reading and taking it in , all new and fresh in the moment. I notice I got the book 6 years ago, 2002. How time flies.
" Wherever you are, be there totally .....Waiting is a state of mind . Basically it means that you want the future : you don't want the present. You don't want what you've got.
With every kind of waiting you unconsciously create inner conflict between your here and now, where you don't want to be ,and the projected future , where you want to be . This greatly reduces the quality of your life by making you lose the present."
-- Eckhart Tolle
" So next time someone says 'sorry to have kept you waiting ' you can reply " That's all right . I wasn't waiting . I was just standing here enjoying myself - in joy in my self."
--Eckhart Tolle
No more waiting
I'm simply here and now
