There are several versions of this powerful ancient chant. All very beautiful and , I find , deeply moving .
"O God, Thou art the giver of life, the remover of pain and sorrow, the bestower of happiness; O Creator of the Universe, may we receive Thy supreme sin-destroying light; may Thou guide our intellect in the right direction."
And it you want to sing along :
* In Devanagari:
ॐ भूर्भुवः स्वः ।
तत् सवितुर्वरेण्यं ।
भर्गो देवस्य धीमहि ।
धियो यो नः प्रचोदयात् ॥
* In IAST
oṃ bhūr bhuvaḥ svaḥ
(a) tat savitur vareṇyaṃ
(b) bhargo devasya dhīmahi
(c) dhiyo yo naḥ prachodayāt
* In IAST Long Form
oṃ bhūr oṃ bhuvaḥ oṃ svaḥ oṃ maḥ oṃ janaḥ oṃ tapaḥ oṃ sat yaṃ
(a) oṃ tat savitur vareṇyaṃ
(b) bhargo devasya dhīmahi
(c) dhiyo yo naḥ prachodayāt

ganesharocks
makes me feel happy as I chant or sing along
My favourite is the long form of this chant...its is so soothing and powerful. Plus it freaks people out when you know it by heart! LOL Seriously though it is easy to remember after 108x a day for 40 days
