Sunset at 3:20 pm

There are patches of red sky outside my window as the sets. In a few weeks the days will be at their shortest and then start getting longer again. The snow has almost gone; there's none left of the roof tops or on the pine needles on the bendy tree outside the blue room.

I've paid bills and am in the middle of doing laundry and catching up on neglected housework. Just had broccoli, blue-cheese and walnut pasta for lunch and am discovering one can eat only so much broccoli - never mind how good it is for you ! *makes note to self * " stop buying 'two for one' offers "- doesn't make sense for a single person. My home-frozen broccoli isn't very nice so I end up chucking it away and I hate chucking away food.

Enough excitement for one day . What's new in Blogland today ?

Two for one offers are only good if you can use them ..I suppose broccolli soup may be one option?

It is dark here now.....

At least all the lights up in Oxford street will look a bit better.

  Right .. and people have started putting Christmas stars in their windows and wrapping lights around balcony rails

I hate this time of year, the lack of light. But the sunsets and sunrises are some compensation.

Not so bad before Christmas because of the lights but that month or so after christmas when the lights are down and it is just dark and grey all the time.........

    Just in my head.
    
    Cut up 1 broccoli, a couple of garlic cloves and 1 onion. Put some olive oil into a soup pot and add the onion until it softens then add the garlic and the broccoli. When the broccoli turns a bit brown add some water so the water covers the broccoli. Add a large spoonful of butter, some cheese (about 1 cup and I use the laughing cow cheese from France, six of those triangles) some vegetable stock cubes to taste (I added 3) and cook until the broccoli is tender.
    
    Then puree everything in a blender or with a wand.
    
    Tastes great.

What time does the sun rise now?
I hate small days.
I miss the long days in Portugal in the summer.

  I'm not usually awake for sunrise , Miza *chuckles* and when it does it is usually dark these days .
