After four hours of cleaning out the attic , I'm showered and clean with conditioner working its magic in my hair.
Oh the DUST .. the rubbish ... toys and books mainly.
Half a dozen boxes designated for the charity shops and a carload of stuff taken away to recycling by Pether and Kjell. BLESS.
The Prof has gone home and will return tomorrow to do some more. It takes a LOT longer than you think, especially as things have to be sorted out into paper, metal, plastic etc.
I'm stiff and aching all over .. and this is just the beginning
Delicious smells emanating from the kitchen now ; onions , garlic, peppers, lentils, chilli , potatoes , carrots and maybe some broccoli chucked in right at the end and a glass of red wine .... a heart stew in the Mira cauldron
Fortification and rest now.
Tomorrow is another day !

Got up in the middle of the night after being unable to wind down after the excitement of the day. A bit of blogging and commenting until eyelids started feeling heavy and sleep set in.
Pether and Kjell phoned bright and early at 10 am as they are helping us to clear the attic.
Phoned the Prof who'd been out on the town with the lads and sounded groggy ...here now .. later peeps xxx

Last night I dreamed about a teacher with whom I have a deep soul connection and whom I'm very fond of.
Snippets of my dream have been surfacing throughout the day in my daydreams accompanied by cosy fuzzy warm feelings.
Maybe it has something to do with connecting with my inner wise being. I do hope so. It will be interesting to see what's showing in dreamland tonight.
wouldn't it be fantastic if you could take a remote control with you and choose channels as you do with the telly ?

The same stream of life that runs through the world
runs through my veins night and day in rhythmic measure.
It is the same life that shoots in joy through the dust of the earth

Blogging here are BCUK is very different from blogging elsewhere.
On Blogger.com , for example, I can post and comments are few and far between. Sometimes, as if by a miracle, what I write resonates with someone somewhere on the other side of the world and they leave a comment.I feels great and always comes as surprise.
Here, on BCUK, comments are a bit like chatting, only slower: I read a comment and return a while later to find a response. I reply to that and sometimes it leads to another comment.

Therapy sessions with Mr H. Da Shrink are just pleasant little chats. I talk , he listens and comments and I reflect. An hour later I go home , ravenously hungry and dead tired.

Received this today. Going to give it a go
Should work to adapt , from checks to cheques and dollars to pounds , euros and kronor.
Come to think of it , I haven't seen or used a cheque here in Sweden for years. It's all credit cards , postgiro and bankgiro
I'm sure the Abundant Universe knows.
Abundance Check Ritual in the New Moon
This ritual has been handed down through so many people that its origin has
become unknown.What are Abundance Checks?
Abundance checks are a tool we can use to create more abundance in our
lives. They are written within 24 hours after a New Moon.Surprisingly, you really don't even need to believe that the check will work
when you write it. You will however be amazed at the results, as you will
see increased abundance in your life, in some life area. It is not always
financial, but certainly in an area that you need. There is a traditional manner, which has been handed down, that must be
followed. If you do not have a checking account you can draw a check on a
piece of paper and fill it out the same way - the results will be the same,
more abundance for you. Here's how to do them:
1.) Within 24 hours after a New Moon, take a check from your check book.
Where it says "Pay to," write your name.2.) In the little box on the same line where you would fill in a dollar
amount write "Paid in full."3.) On the line underneath your name, where you would write out a dollar
amount, write "Paid in full." [I find it works better if you don't add the
squiggly line.]4.) Sign the check: "The Law of Abundance"
Do not put a date on the check. Do not write a specific dollar amount in the
check. Put it in a safe place and forget about it. The Universe will take it
from there. Many people are skeptical about trying this until they do it. After the
first time they realize the power of these checks and do them routinely
every month! Try it yourself and see!If you enjoy this ritual, do it for the next three New Moons and see what
happens.

The Year of the Ox: 2009
From: Mao Ni | Posted: Friday, January 23rd, 2009
Category: Health | Sub-Category: Healthy Living |
Welcome to the Chinese New Year of the Ox, which according to the Chinese lunar calendar begins on January 26, 2009. Many people who paid attention to last year’s forecast told me they benefited by avoiding some of the pitfalls I warned about. The system of forecasting that I have used for many years is based on ancient Taoist energy science that looks at the dynamics of elemental and cosmic influences. Its usefulness lies in the guidance that helps us avoid negative impacts while encouraging us to make the most out of positive trends. It is my hope that in this particular time of turmoil and instability, this forecast will be helpful to you and your family as you weather the storm. Like all storms, though destructive and fearsome, this one shall eventually pass, and peace and contentment will be restored once again. The key is to cultivate your strong roots to withstand the tempest.
2009, the Year of the Ox, is represented by two elements - double Earth. The energetic characteristic of Earth element is one of patience, harmony and charity. Like in a garden, symbol of the Earth element, hard work, persistence and patience shall yield dividends in harvest. Similarly, an ox steadily and methodically plows the field, Sharing what the earth produces with those less fortunate are the features of the year. My advice this year is for us to return to the basics, and literally and figuratively, reconnect and take care of our planet Earth. It is a time to heal and rebuild from natural and manmade disasters and breakdowns. We must peacefully bridge cultural, religious and political divisions internationally. It will require enlightened world leaders to come together to accomplish the difficult tasks ahead as global warming and the financial storm have touched every part of the world and affected every person. With cooperation, dedication and commitment, there is nothing that is impossible, although we need to temper our expectations with patience.
On the health front, the Earth element is represented by our digestive and metabolic systems. In 2009 pay special attention to your stomach, spleen, pancreas and intestines by reducing alcohol, caffeine, refined sugar, excessive dairy intake, heavy meats and processed foods. We have gotten far removed and disconnected from the sources of our food because of modern agricultural techniques, factory processing and distribution that begins thousands of miles away. Consequently, people’s state of health has suffered, including increased incidences of heart disease, diabetes and cancer. Look out for conditions like gastric reflux, gastritis, ulcers, small bowel bacterial overgrowth, irritable bowel syndrome, constipation, diarrhea, polyps or cancers of the digestive track, diabetes, obesity or anorexia, and muscular problems. A return to Earth literally means eating more wholesome foods like whole grains, vegetables, fruits, beans, legumes, nuts and seeds that are locally and organically grown. Special emphasis should be placed on antioxidant-rich foods that lower your risk of cancer such as broccoli, cauliflower, brussels sprouts, cabbage, shitake and maitake mushrooms, berries, yams, sweet potato, asparagus, beets, carrots, avocado, seaweed. Cook with herbs like dill, oregano, cilantro, rosemary, sage, bay, anise, fennel, cardamom, basil and coriander. Digestive enzymes and high-potency probiotics can also be added to your diet to enhance your digestive and immune functions.
On the financial front, 2009 will continue its cooling trend but with more calm and steadiness in the financial markets. There will be more pain and sacrifices as the unemployment rate rises and consumers pull back on spending. The housing market will slump but should reach stability later in the year. The Earth energy of the year favors agriculture, food commodities, forestry, selective property development associated with infrastructure building, earth preservation, and global warming initiatives like environmental conservation, alternative energy and "green" industry. Shipping, transportation, media, banking, and technology will slow down. In summary, the year 2009 is a "back to the basics" year of taking care of ourselves, our family and our environment. Seek to resolve conflicts, and promote peace and harmony in relationships. Work diligently and consistently to rebuild financially, and cultivate spiritually by doing charitable acts and service to the less fortunate. Help restore universal values of respect, compassion, moderation, harmony and self-responsibility in our lives and in our communities. These are the attributes that are the basis for a happy and constructive life outlined in the books, Path of Constructive Life and Love of Mother Universe written by my father, Hua-Ching Ni, and me. We invite you to read these and other of our published works as they will help you achieve your true life.
May You Live Long, Live Strong and Live Happy!

Was woken up at 10:30 his morning; Michael from Dalarna returning my call and sharing snow shoveling stories as well as visits from friends that we have in common.
Next, a two hour long call from Mrs A who's 90+ year old mother crossed over on Monday. Bless.
After that, still in my dressing gown , brunch at 2 p.m. and more phone calls - this time me catching up with people I've been neglecting recently.

Men in trees is what I am watching over brunch.
There is no " Emmerdale " at weekends. We're about 3 years behind the U.K. and it is a very emotional time there ; the drama of a fire at the vicarage just before Sam and his lovely lady's wedding ( what's her name ? ) She has decided to stop chemo and not told her husband to be until after the wedding. As it turns out , he knows already .. he's worked it all out by himself .. he may not know a lot of things but he knows her ! *sniff sniff, blows knows and reaches for the tissues * ooooo it was sooo soooo sad.
*sighs*
Men in trees is completely different . Lighthearted and silly... nuff said on that .
In other news : Spoke to friend , the one with mysterious illnesses , who for the past two months has been a nomad , living out of a suitcase and staying with parents and friends because she feels ill when she stays in her own flat. Her flat is on sale and being shown tomorrow. May it all go well.
I have three black bags on the go- one for plastic, one for things that can be burned, one for clothes to be recycled and a box for bric a brac to go to charity shops.

This morning I had one of my 5 a.m anxiety attacks: this happens when I live too much in the future instead of staying in the here and now in my thoughts.
I am well aware that my thoughts create my reality and yet the monkey mind is SO damn good it gets away with murder creating havoc wherever it goes.
As I was saying to queenemab in response to her post about positive thinking, I believe positive thinking is the answer to our suffering. We are imprisoned by our negative often wordless thoughts that have been there so long we don't even notice them.
Reality is what it is. If you have 10 pounds, it is not wise to spend 12 and to live beyond your means.
What we can do is be smart , make wise choices and appreciate and be grateful for all that the 10 pounds can give us and not spend too much time thinking what if ..... and then what if .... and if so ..what then ...? Too many of these kind of thoughts lead to much unnecessary doom and gloom , fear , anxiety .. paralysis.
I also think that cutting back is not always a good thing- you can cut yourself out of existence. It is good to stretch and test your potential to create more abundance in your life . Been there, done that, but paid the price of worry. One of these days I'll get the balance right
From personal experience, being thrifty and economical can lead you on a downward spiral into more of the same. Aspiring to something higher can unleash hidden reserves.
Thanks for helping get my thoughts straight Mab - I had a 5 am anxiety attack but am stepping out of that now.
Have a positive day full of goodness and endless possibilities , everyone.

Peace is a both a passion and priority with me: inner peace and outer peace. Barak Obama , the new President Elect of the USA seems to me like the best one they've had yet.
Barak Obama is by no means a Messiah, but a human being and cannot be expected to do the job alone , but he does inspire encouragement and hope as we face the future. WE are the change we wish to see in the world. It is true that " We are ONE ". What affects one , affects all. It is simply so.
Kate Anne , a dear friend and tireless charismatic peace maker on the other side of the Big Pond writes in her blog
Gene Robinson's Prayer Kicks Off Inaugral Events . ....This wasn't shown on HBO so we, the uncabled, didn't miss it. Thank God and some tech-savy folk for YouTube and the person who taped this from the front of the Sunday concert: Bishop Gene Robinson's Prayer.

I HAVE COME INTO THIS WORLD TO SEE THIS I have come into this world to see this:
the sword drop from men's hands even at the height
of their arc of anger

because we have finally realized there is just one flesh to wound
and it is His - the Christ's, our
Beloved's. I have come into this world to see this: all creatures hold hands as
we pass through this miraculous existence we share on the way
to even a greater being of soul, a being of just ecstatic light, forever entwined and at play
with Him. I have come into this world to hear this: every song the earth has sung since it was conceived in
the Divine's womb and began spinning from
His wish, every song by wing and fin and hoof,
every song by hill and field and tree and woman and child,
every song of stream and rock, every song of tool and lyre and flute,
every song of gold and emerald
and fire, every song the heart should cry with magnificent dignity
to know itself as
God: for all other knowledge will leave us again in want and aching -
only imbibing the glorious Sun
will complete us. I have come into this world to experience this: men so true to love
they would rather die before speaking
an unkind
word, men so true their lives are His covenant -
the promise of
hope. I have come into this world to see this:
the sword drop from men's hands
even at the height of
their arc of
rage because we have finally realized
there is just one flesh we can wound. ~ Hafiz ~

Just had brunch; freshly baked sour dough bread, a couple of organic free range eggs , tomatoes and a cup of coffee.
Nice.
The sun ain't shining today; no matter.
My mood is brighter and more cheerful for some unexplainable reason, other than, of course, for the simple truth that " all things must pass " even grumpy, downhearted moods
There are days, like yesterday, when despite the brilliant sunshine outside and all my blessings , I wake up feeling heavyhearted and blue in a self- imposed prison, feeling as if I have been kicked out of heaven. This is when Byron Katie's " The Work " helps me if can gather myeself enough to do it- in other words , to write down a few of the stressful thoughts amongst the zillions that are zooming through my mind and causing me to perceive my heaven as hell.
I thoroughly recommend these three videos with Byron Katie and Oprah , part of her " Soul Series " . I hope the link works , otherwise just go to www.oprah.com and search for Byron Katie , The Work ,
Author, speaker and spiritual teacher Byron Katie, known to most as Katie, was a mother and real estate broker in the 1980s who found herself spiraling into a severe depression. In 1986, after nearly a decade of struggling with depression, alcoholism, suicidal thoughts and eating disorders, Katie checked herself into a halfway house and rehabilitation center for women. It was there that Katie had an awakening and became filled with happiness, clarity and calmness that changed her life forever. She says she realized the cause of her intense suffering and depression "was not the world around her, but the beliefs she'd had about the world."

Mainly solitude today with the exception of two films: " The Bee Season " with Richard Gere followed by a more down to earth "Henry VIII" which ends with Anne Bolyn getting her head chopped off.
But back to " The Bee Season " which is a beautiful fascinating complex drama.
Richard Gere and Juliette Binoche star in this unconventional family drama based on Myla Goldberg's novel. Saul (Gere) is a religious studies professor with a special interest in the Kabbalah. When his 11-year-old daughter Eliza turns out to have a mystical gift for spelling, Saul focuses on developing her talent, and she wins a series of bees. Meanwhile, Saul's wife (Binoche) behaves strangely and their teenage son gets involved with Hare Krishna. As Eliza becomes increasingly successful, the family begins to fall apart.
"The Bee Season" is quite a gem; one of those films where you don't get everything the first time around. It makes you want to rent the DVD to watch it again and again.
( Richard Gere ) Saul: There are people who believe that letters are an expression of a very special primal energy and when they combine to make words they hold all the secrets of the universe...
Saul: Remember the Vikings?
Saul: [Takes a green apple] Ok, Vikings called this "aepli".
Saul: Now when they took it across the sea in their ships it became "apfel".
Saul: Crossed another border, it became "appel".
Saul: By the time it got to us it was "apple".
Saul: Its spelling contains all of that.
Saul: It holds its history inside it.
I want a kaleidescope now ....and .....I am inspired to make my own chandelier from prisms , beads and bits of glass to catch the light.

I had a rather strong and symbolic dream last night:
Someone has set up 3 satanic altars in a room near the church. A priest in clerical robes comes in to sprinkle them with holy water and leaves again - not too interested and a bit nonchalant couldn't- care- less attitude.
There are a few women left in the room with me and they start to taunt me but I remain firm , and stand up to them and telling them clearly that Love is the answer and the light ALWAYS conquers darkness. As I do this I feel a surge of power rising up in me and notice how good it feels standing up to fear.
Oh ... and I also empty a bowl of water into the fireplace . There's no fire there at the time.
After that I go for a chat with another vicar ( the one who is the vicar on Emmerdale farm
) He is in his new church which has recently been renovated. So far he has no congregation. I go and lie down on his sofa and he snuggles up to me there.

Clearing stuff is good for body mind and spirfit. Unwanted stuff can be it rubbish , material things that no longer serve you or unwanted feelings such as anger, hatred, resentment , worry, shame, guilt.
I've been doing a lot of clearing of stuff and intend to do this exercise for the bits and pieces my hands can't reach . This exercise came from the Daily OM today .:
| Clarity of Soul Chakra Clearing Exercise
Just as the physical spaces we inhabit require that we clear them periodically of clutter, the energetic fields that are a vital part of our being must also be cleared of old thoughts, energy, and emotions. Clearing your chakras and your aura restores and strengthens your connection to yourself and your divine inner wisdom. Unfettered by energetic baggage masquerading as fear, pain, and self-hatred, your consciousness is once again free to grow. If you find the thought of clearing your energy fields disconcerting, simply think of it as cleansing the energy that surrounds you and releasing any stagnancy. You may not be able to see the results of your efforts, but you will experience a lightness of being and clarity of mind. You can begin by sitting or lying down on a comfortable surface. Take a series of deep breaths and allow your soul to connect with Mother Earth and the vast expanse of the Universe. Visualize your first chakra, situated near the tailbone, and imagine if you will, a valve opening there, much like a faucet. Imagine a cord dropping from your tailbone deep into Mother Earth and let everything that is stagnant within you flow through it. Let go of old energy, inactive thoughts, and anything else that no longer serves you. Ask the earth to accept what you are offering by turning this old energy into light. Continue to let old energy drain out of you until you feel like you’ve released all your energetic baggage. When you are done, imagine the valve closing. Before moving on to clear your next chakra, let vibrant terra cotta light travel upward from the earth and through the cord into your first chakra. Repeat this process with all seven of the body’s chakras. The second chakra is orange, the third is yellow, the fourth is green, the fifth is blue, the sixth is indigo and the 7th is violet. Afterward, visualize your crown chakra and draw beautiful, golden-white light from the universe flowing down through the top of your head. Release any worries or fears that you have been holding on to. Draw this light into your aura and enjoy the resultant feeling of peace. dailyom.com

The notes from the Universe get better and better. I'm grinning ear to ear and positively glowing inside !

I realize there's an assumption that pervades most human thinking: That upon the day of birth, a new soul emerges... pure, bright, and sparkling with promise.
But then, how would you explain the gasp among those in the unseen who, upon witnessing your first howl as a babe, proclaimed, "Oh my God!!! NO way! It CAN'T be! That's... Mira Maze!!"
Mira, you are an ancient, timeless, powerful gladiator. You've always known exactly what you were doing. Today you are exactly where you should be and this year, more than ever before, "OMG!!!" will precede your name.

I'm lookig forward to Tony Samara's book . Read more here :
Tony Samara’s code for a daily living of spirituality: selfless service and treating your body as a temple
Tony Samara, founder of the eponymous, non-profit organization, The Samara Foundation for the Evolution of Human Consciousness, lived for several years in a Zen Buddhist monastery.
http://www.soulscode.com/meet-the-next-carlos-castaneda/#more-1155
After leaving the monastery, Tony traveled to the jungles of the Amazon and the Andes, where he lived and studied among a community of shamans.
Soul’s Code: What secrets did you learn from the healers and holy men?
Tony: I worked with many shamans in the jungles and mountains of South America. It is difficult to put into words all the learnings, but one could summarize the essence as being a profound respect for nature and its inherent cycles that help sustain life. That humans can utilize nature to enhance their joy, gives this realm meaning.
Soul’s Code: Do you still interact or visit the shamans and medicine men?
Tony: Not in this dimension, as I do not like long distance travel. But there are easier ways of staying in communication.

You are a naturally good counselor. You are inspiring, encouraging, and compassionate.
You are eager to help everyone who crosses your path, even those who don't want to be helped.
You are a natural healer. People feel at peace when they are with you.
You are so good for people, in fact, that they go through withdrawal once you're gone.
You quietly do your own thing, without openly resisting. You secretly try to fix every problem.
Your biggest regret is not being able to help as many people as you'd like.

Good morning Blogland
Fell asleep last night with the moon on my face and pondering on the fact that we, I, am energy ....a vibration ... a frequency far more than I am a physical being.
The energy or life force or soul is what makes me tick and helps my physical " costume " to move around work, play, think , laugh , cry , scream, shout , eat and drink etc etc
Thoughts are indeed things and absolutely everything has started it's being as a thought. When we examine and change our thoughts we change EVERYTHING !
Two dreams last night :
dream 1
A performance; huge gathering of people like the Olympic games only this was not to do with sport. People were choosing to answer questions in different categories; I hear " philosophy" as one. There was dancing involving many people in the formation of stars, weird costumes and a feeling of a rehearsal. Huge place.
dream 2
I receive a stencil of ancient letters that comes via Prof's dad R and Prof's half sister. E. She had got them from an old wise. Greek man and had sent them on to me. Someone translated the letter. The gift also inclued a little angel with a bell. I was also shown ripenning green tomatoes !
Breakfast .. see you annon ![]()

Snakey is back and I didn't have to do a thing.
Sometimes things sort themselves out.
I shall take it as a sign.
Popped into town after my acupuncture session to see soul sister G. for a lesson in blogging. Helped her set up a blog. I'd forgotten what a HUGE thing this can be if you have never done it before. Poor thing was quite exhausted afterwards.
Met witchy Ursula on the way home and had a nice chat. A lovely chirpy soul I don't bump into very often , so I take this as another sign. An omen.
The moon was SO glorious too - almost full.
Dinner - cod poached in wine and stock with brocolli and cremefraiche sauce. YUM. Glass of vino .... life is good ...no complaints whatsover.
Have a wonderful evening , everyone ![]()

.. adversity reveals genius, prosperity conceals it.
Horace said that, and he was right. During this time of
adversity and financial 'meltdown,' your genius will be
revealed--as will that of all humankind. We will find
that there is another way to live other than 'dog eat
dog,' and another worthy goal other than 'bigger,
better, more.'
See this time, then, as a challenge to your ingenuity
and an invitation from life to rediscover what is truly
important: love, family, friends, and...the journey of
the soul.
Love, Your Friend....

" The road less travelled " by Scott Peck , is one of the books I inherited from a friend and colleague who was finding homes for her millions of books before entering a Zen Buddhist monastery.
I've heard several references to this book made by tutors and teachers and colleagues during the course of my training and yet it has escaped me until this morning when I picked it up and started reading snippets and ended by throwing it across the room in disgust. Ages since I've read such a lot of dogmatic codswallop !!
Still , what fascinates me now is my own strong reaction.
A quick googling of sort of explained things ...

I wonder how I would reactive if I came across Scott Peck travelling on my road

I am a Behemian Life Artist learning new things every day in Life School.
Today I was reminded and learned that :
The river flows on its own ; there is no need to push it.
Things happen in their own time and not always in My Time.
When Anxiety or Panic strikes; Stop, pause, breathe, relax breathe, listen and enquire. Catch thoughts, enquire and ask " Is it So ? " I have the tools and I know how to use them and remember to trust the process.
All is well and unfolding as it should.
I learned that as I start the first full work week of the New Year I should do no 'work' at all.
I learned that the point of my activities throughout the day is not to make a living, but to make a life; not to 'work' but to create joy.
I learned that I do not have to search for My Path , because I am already on it and I am consciously walking My Path to the best of my ability.
This first week of the New Year is a good time to contemplate these things.

Awaken to the mystery of being here
and enter the quiet immensity of your own presence.
Have joy and peace in the temple of your senses.
Receive encouragement when new frontiers beckon.
Respond to the call of your gift and the courage to
follow its path.
Let the flame of anger free you of all falsity.
May warmth of heart keep your presence aflame.
May anxiety never linger about you.
May your outer dignity mirror an inner dignity of
soul.
Take time to celebrate the quiet miracles that seek
no attention.
Be consoled in the secret symmetry of your soul.
May you experience each day as a sacred gift woven
around the heart of wonder.

Cassette tapes and LPs are as old as the dinosaurs but not to be dismissed simply because I hardly ever listen to them. My CD is misbehaving so I've dug out cassette tapes and now listening to Ove's special mix cassette that includes Leonard Cohen and Mae West and tunes from A famous blue raincoat. Bless you , my dear friend Ove , on your side of the Veil for 19 years. Ove knew all the words and a great deep singing voice.

A surprise pressie arrived today from my sister number 2.
Bless
Sister D. is the conventional one that still sends birthday cards and Christmas Cards even though my other sister I. and I stopped this practice eons ago.
Until this pressie arrived , I was quite proud of the fact that I had not received or unwrapped a single present this Christmas. All gifting apart from the two CDs I sent my mum ( The Priests and Andrea Bocelli 'cos I knew she wanted them ) all gifting was in the form of intangible gifts that need no wrapping up just receiving and enjoying.
I'm going to enjoy watching the DVD tonight - a sci- fi magical tale called " The Compass "
So sweet of her !

As the year begins, there are certain rituals to be performed
- new diary and updating of addresses.
- starting a new " Domestic " file and a " Company " file for all the papers that come through the letter box and need to be kept and found again.
I've just spent well over an hour making and designing A LABEL for the two files

This could serve as a metaphor for my life.
Now .. what's next ?

Blue skies and sunshine and quite cold, -6C, but I've been indoors all day pottering around, treating my hair to deep conditioning, snacking on bits and pieces and a couple of nice long chats on the phone catching up with friends.
